By the way what happens when 2 player attack eachother?
Higher damage weapon guy goes first and kills his opponent then walks away unharmed? He takes damage too and they can both die?
All actions resolve at the same time. So assuming each had an attack higher than the others defense, they’d both die
Ok, so can someone with a ranged weapon target someone else with a ranged weapon and hit them successfully?
Because if so the M16 is a pretty solid choice for an opening play.
keep it at 12 for the first one to work out the bugs. The items that look like solid choices - everyone’s going to try for them and that reduces the chances of you actually getting it. it’s a gamble. much like in the movie.
Is the actual story going to be Hunger Games themed or is the game just based on The Hunger Games with a different/no story? Just in case the story is Hunger Games themed and I do manage to get in, I’m reserving the best character in the movie.
Is there space still on this? This seems like a simplified mafia game. I’ve watch both movies until the end so I’m an expert on this. Sign me up.
My only suggestion is can we keep the abilities simple given this is the first official Hunger Games and all.
Its hunger games themed, the game itself is just a loose “arena” format that could fit any theme. 4 player Mage arena, 24 man Hunger Games, 30 man Battle Royale, WWE Royal Rumble, anything is possible given the simple format. I was probably just gonna generate some random sounding names, and not use characters from the books, because we’ll they’re all basically dead. But I’m flexible.
It’s kind of like mafia, but not really. There is no secret faction, there is just pure chaos. There is strategy in being the last one alive, but I think if people really wanted you dead, there’s very little you can do. I’m curious to see how the game plays out. Day 1- everyone kills everyone ,game over nobody wins? lol
Yup, that is the gamble over which item you go for. There are some that are definitely straight up stronger, but that means more people will go for them too.
Yes, ranged can attack other ranged. The only thing ranged does is prevent “reflective” type damage, like the spear and the spiked shield grant. (remember, this equipment list is only an example of what might be there, to give you some general ideas and a feel for the game). There may also be character abilities that have favored weapon types, like +damage with bows, where ranged comes into play.
Those secret character abilities are going to be the most frustrating things in the game.
“Oh, you thought you could deal 6 damage to me and kill me? Nope, you deal 1 less damage because I’m the Juggernaut (bitch!)”
On that topic, for this game the characters are going to be Hunger Games-esque, but in future games they could be whatever fits the theme, correct?
Yup, and yup. That is what I hope, on both fronts. I want you to NEVER be comfortable.
I will also not reveal what the abilities are, until that persons death. So if you see calculations that don’t quite add up… you may need to reverse engineer and figure it out yourselves.
I also added a few more scenarios to clarify a few situations that could arise.
