We are close to the number of entrants we could just do a proper hunger games with 24 people. Im just afraid the first game might be pretty chaotic with that many people… : )
That’s the best part about the sponsorship thing, you can still interact with the game a bit even if you didn’t get picked. So while people will be unhappy they didn’t get picked, they still get to influence the game and help their favorites.
Or you could explode your inbox and make 2 different test games, one for your controlled environment and the other for some of the more crazy things suggested by people in the forums. Like a scientific experiment. Game A would be the control and Game B would be variable.
I’ve also never seen the Hunger Games. My 11-year-old niece is obsessed with it though, maybe she’ll give me the rundown. XD
It’s basically battle royale, if you’ve seen that. If you haven’t, then you need to question what you’re doing with your life.
24 people get picked, and dumped into an arena. Only 1 survives. The 1 who survives gets to live the rest of their life in luxury.
But the backstory is 12 districts, each district is a region of the US, and they produce some product (Coal, Cotton, Food, etc). As punishment for a failed rebellion, they must work as basically indentured servants, never allowed to leave their districts, and provide all the products to the capital city. You can take extra food, but everytime you take food your name gets put into the lottery one more time.
Each year, they take all the names that were entered, and draw 2 (1 boy, 1 girl) names of kids between like 11 and 17. These 2 kids go to fight for their life in the arena. 12 districts, 2 per district, 24 total (12 boys, 12 girls).
The world is quite advanced in technology, and the capital lives in luxury, because all the work is done by those in the districts, leaving them to live as nothing more than people who enjoy life.
To them, the Hunger Games is a sport, like reality tv. And they can spend their money to influence the game, by sponsoring people, and sending in medicine, food, tools, etc. The more well liked you are in your pre-game interviews and trials, the more likely people will be to back you.
When the games start, nobody has any equipment. Everything is in a big pile in the middle of the arena. If you go for an item, you’re stuck fighting everyone else and most likely dying. If you run away, you have no supplies and could starve/dehydrate.
The arena itself is high tech, and can change/modify as per the game masters wishes. Don’t like somebody camping on the outer edge? Send fireballs at them. Want to keep people away from the river? flood it.
All elements that are reflected in this first game mode.
