I think a good “Player of the Month” would be neat.
Post excellent videos of them once (or twice) a week during the month and spit knowledge about them and their character useage.
Another thing I would love to see is “Match of the Day/Week.”
For me I don’t whine about playing against Pheonix, I just quit playing it. The character design of several characters is sloppy. I’ll just go play a game that makes more sense competitively.
I think players new and old spend too much time complaining about balance issues. Just stop playing the game and maybe they will be quality tested better in the future. You have a character that can easily ocv 3 characters on a consistent basis. That’s silly. It’s so annoying in general that audiences will immediately boo whoever picks her. The funniest thing was when Daigo who rarely makes any facial expressions looked like he was about to start laughing when Showstoppa attempted to counter pick with Phoenix after losing.
Also seeing an 8 year old mash fp. all the way to the center stage was confusing. I actually thought there was some kind of inside joke going on between him and his opponents. Props to the kid but what was going on in general?
Games that aren’t perfectly balanced are more fun than games that offer little variety because they are so balanced. But then you have imbalance issues to the extreme like they never considered the possibilities.
Me trolling? I’m not attempting to. At least not right now. Who knows maybe the kid solves rubix cubes during recess and only Chris G could figure him out.
new players have NO clue wtf is going on therefore they should STFU. Really simple for them. However older players with experience SHOULD be able to comment on balance issues
shoultzula, Mar 22, 2011 * And I find it funny that sentinel got a nerf when its OBVIOUSLY clear that dark phoenix deserves the most nerfs right now but leave it scrubsyoucan.com and cRapcomunity.com to complain about the shit that doesn’t really matter. There was nothing wrong with sentinel prior.
this is about 1 month after the game dropped. Anyone who actually knew how to play knows that sentinel didn’t need a nerf and dark phoenix needed to be rebalanced like a mother fucker. Older members provide substantial* information that can create a better game for everyone.

I think it comes down to quality in general. If something isn’t of good quality people don’t buy it, play it, borrow it or whatever. I’m seeing a lot of players get back into older games. I went to a tourney recently and there were almost as may people playing Vampire Savior as MvC3.
I like what you are saying and I think that all the whining feeds into situations like this:http://nerdemic.com/review-super-street-fighter-iv-arcade-edition (go to the comments) where people who have never played street fighter in any serious way are labeling things broken or overpowered just because they see these terms popping up on SRK. I’m no great player, but I like to try things out any play the game before I make decisions about what’s broken. That is something that seems to be getting lost. People are complaining about games based on hearsay.
What I want to know is how a series of articles or SRK itself can be used to combat general ignorance and the potential detriment a loud sea of uninformed voices can create on the development of new games. I’d hate to see all future Capcom games designed with incredible story modes, but lackluster gameplay just because people keep complaining about a lack of anime cut-scenes and everything being overpowered.
The front page already has tons of tabs, but I have to wonder if it couldn’t be better organized, particularly with respect to news items. While news items do have tags, can’t there be a better way to filter and present the front page news? Like having a section for comedy/fluff, a section for news from the company lines, and a section for tournament/player news. With everything combined into a single vertical page right now, there’s a combination of worries about “what is worthy of this page” versus stuff getting lost in the shuffle. I don’t think people would care so much about the front page being filled with news that they aren’t interested in if the news items were presented in a way that was more intelligently filterable. There will always be a need for some editorial screening, but it’s pretty clear that having one person do the bulk of it (Keits) is a chokepoint in a variety of ways (things need to be brought to his attention, he needs to go look at them, then he needs to write a blurb about it post it), and the front page could definitely benefit from a reorganization that would make it serve clearer purposes, and ease the burden on the editors of it.
The “Top Articles” item on the front page is really cool, but right now I’m not sure what the driving criteria is for what goes on it. Is it the biggest news of the past week and this week? It’s certainly not the latest news, since usually one half of the items on it are at least a week old. I’m sure it’s a force for driving people towards particular news items, but I don’t think it’s serving a very clear purpose for people who are regular visitors of SRK, which is a shame since it’s the flashiest and biggest thing on the front page.
Not entirely just what he is basing it on doesn’t always work out for everyone heck almost nothing ever really has.
Anyways enough derailing I would enjoy it if someone would do an interview or a gaming bio on Thao Doung I absolutely enjoyed watching footage of his Charlie albeit there is very little.
Yup. Some people, even top players, love declaring statements before giving everything enough time to materialize.
Like when I went to the MVC3 threads and informed them that Dark Phoenix is not as BS as the current trend of thought makes her, and having Spiderman on the team (not on point!) hard counters her like 8-2 because he prevents the transformation (and basically if his other 2 characters can’t rape your other 2 characters he just lost the match) and that you just need to give it some time to get used to implanting Spiderman in your team but they repeat the Sentinel process and just want to bitch and patch their problems away.
If there was no UMVC3 planned, a year from now Phoenix’s role will become less dominating because of hard counters like this but Wolverine and other top/high tiers would probably stay in the same position for being much more versatile unless something new will be found against them.
