Bringing back Premium would solve this problem. Hell, even without prem. people are willing to donate (myself included), just for the sake of keeping FGC/SF history up and running, for years to come.

sad news. even though I haven’t posted that much over the years as other users I still visited the forums on a regular basis. of course social media has become a new source of information nowadays but I don’t think that makes forums obsolete. the way of communication is different and its structure makes it great for archival purposes. I really hope the effort to prevent the closure will be successful. I really don’t see what could replace the SRK forums right now.

Real shit I actually forgot SRK has a front page. I come here so much that when I open my browser and type the letter “s” it autofill the general discussion link and takes me there. Theres been a couple times where I went to the front page on accident and there’s nothing I want to read there. Like how often does SRK break news that hasn’t been circulating for a couple hours elsewhere, at least recently? Close the forums? Shut the whole thing down. SRK without a forum will be the fringiest of fringe sites. Nobody will come here, and there will be no reason to.
While this place has ruled, I don’t think we should pony up our hard earned cash dollars for this place when we still have bigwigs that are set to shut it down at any moment, the ruling class doesnt exactly deserve our money.

Doubt anything can happen in 3 weeks to change their minds. If they were interested in having their minds changed they would have announced months in advance so that proposals to keep things going could have been floated past them.
