SRK D&D Game start! The town of Marast: At The Quill & Dagger Inn

So are we doing this the same time this week or do you guys have something else in mind?

@angelpalm‌ @RockBogart‌ @CanadianDstryr‌ @Neesa‌

I should have posted last night, but yeah, same time tomorrow night. 7pm CST, 8pm Eastern and Canadian won’t be with us. It would be cool to get a shout out on stream at Final Round though. Jus sayin.

@Neesa I still want to go over your spell book real quick. PM me. I’ma do the same thing with StuffTough.

@angelpalm‌ @RockBogart‌ @CanadianDstryr‌ @Neesa‌

Hold back your pitchforks and torches, but would you go easy on me if we start at 8:30 CST? I gotta get my shit together and I got my days mixed up. 7:00 is right during my parent exchange time and I wont be home in time.

Sorry I always screw up the time.

It’s fine with me.

Thanks, Nizzza.

LOL to show my gratitude @Neesa‌ here’s me misspelling your name on purpose.

I’m online right now if you wanna go over them spells.

@neesa Ello. There’s a group of negros that need some healin’ here.

My bad. I was cooking dinner and shit at the time. Totally forgot.

Good game guys. 1500 XP given out on your char. sheets already.

Had fun last night, even if I did almost die lol.

To do list:

  1. Make Rock’s token
  2. Kill AP.

Dammit man.

You need to be worried about what’s behind them doors.

Design shit.

This is the entire complex that I’ve planned. Not sure right now how much of this will need to be explored, but I’ve barely begun to flesh it out.

The first floor, however, is pretty much done and you’ve already been through it so I can post it up. Mostly posting so you can get a bit of insight from the DM’s side of the table (PC? Headphones?).

The complex in total (non-labeled version to protect top seekreet stuff):

There are multiple entrance and exits, some more obvious (and more dangerous) than others. You should be able to enter the complex at any point and reach any point within it through some means. Exploration is key and ingenuity will often win out where brute force fails. All of the encounters will be designed to have multiple methods of defeat, so sometimes the most obvious way will not be the best.

And this is where you just left, or still are in the case of some of you:

@RockBogart, the drake you helped out is in room 2C.
The Vault where the cave floor broke away is inside room 5. It drops down to area 15 below it.
Area 18 is where the thieves made their camp.
Area 20 is where the Kobold/dragon was found (cave details have not been added)
in Area 1A, I do remember someone discovering the secret cave entrance to area 10A, but you chose not to go into it since you mission required you elsewhere. What’s in there? The world may never know…

The cave system that leads off to where you’ve been exploring recently and where the double doors are located is actually featured on a different map that I will not be showing to you, but you’ll be exploring it thoroughly in the future.

I enjoy designing stuff like this and I hope we explore much of this map and that you have as much fun doing it as i do making it.

@Neesa won’t be joining us (I’m jealous, I wanna go to Aruba tooba!). @Angelpalm @CanadianDstryr‌ get ready for Thursday at 8:45 CST. I’m making sure I give myself time this time and not forgetting anything. I’m assuming that Arrrgh and Bubba will be present as well.

If you need to tell or ask me anything, just holla.

I’m good to go, sent a message to Bubba’s player as well.

Any key plot elements I missed out on last week?

  1. Bubba revealed himself (with much fanfare) to be in actuality not an Elven wizard, but rather a wild human of some sort. He then proceeded to lay some smack down upon a snake-like creature just guarding his home. Poor snake guy.

  2. The lair you discovered seemed to be the abandoned home of the snake-like race and you defeated one of them and set free their Jermlaine captives. Well, all of them but one, which Orin Boal fed to the drake you met on your way into the complex.

  3. From there the party argued a bit over which direction to go next, with Orin Boal, Iyasu and Arrrgh The Wizard insisting that the lair was a dead end and that they should just turn back to report to Ole Ferry, while Lydia, Bubba and yourself (I figured you’d probably want to venture deeper into the caves, remembered a couple of side-forks around the area where you fought the tentacle beast. The party splits in that fashion.

  4. Orin Boal leads Iyasu and Arrrgh back to the surface, through the thieves guild where Merrick decides that it’s time to pack up and leave since the threats seem to have been dispatched, and gives the rest of his provisions (quite a lot of adventuring gear) to the party in exchange for bravely going in and saving his men from the raging Kobold! Orin Boal goes to parlay with the Drake, who seems pleased to have merely been remembered and told him about a cave filled to the brim with a real (promise this time) dragon’s treasure, citing dragon-kin privilege on the matter.

  5. The other group delved deeper and somehow managed not to soil their armor. They discovered the actual dead-end of the cave system(?), a humongous set of iron and gold-clad doors in a room with pillars also trimmed in gold. There they found a golden statuine in the shape of a Minotaur. The doors were firmly locked, with all efforts to open them suggesting a lock of a magical nature.

That’s pretty much it.

@Angelpalm discovered a secret door within the thieves guild complex. Where it leads no one knows… yet.

The rest of you fight through the thieves guild, utilizing fire to defeat a bunch of old rags that try to impede your progress.

There also was the lovely dealer of cards, rivaling even your beloved Iyasu in both beauty and cup size, who dealt out hands of impending doom.

Only some of you were doomed.

Lydia’s owl gots da bling now.

@RockBogart‌ @CanadianDstryr‌ @Neesa‌ @angelpalm‌ you all advance at least enough XP to get to level 5. Rock Bogart gets a bit more because I forgot (again) to make his Token (I actualy didn’t not find time, but I will set it aside tomorrow).

Meign…I got straight up Shang tsund.

Two things: One, I decided to allow for sources to be used other than the SRD. Here is a decent collection of books from which you can get some ideas. If you don’t see anything you like, or don’t care to read all that shit, then fine. It won’t hurt you in any way, since the SRD has enough stuff to keep most people going. I just had some requests (and not it wasn’t only Angelpalm, even though I pick on him a lot) for some external resources. Feel free to use any officially sourced (not home brew) stuff you find, just make sure to clear it with me first. Most the time the answer will be “yes.”

Two, experience. Everyone has it updated on their sheets and everyone has reached level 5.

Hurray now we can all make tier 3 characters to compare with Neesa’s tier 1 who spends all her time healing our owwies.
