SRK D&D game Prelims and Sign-up thread: Paladins for Righteousness and Booty (mostly booty)

As much as I would love to play, my schedule is pretty hectic right now.

I’d hate to commit to something like a game and not be able to put much time into it when other people have put a lot in.

I move to DQ everyone in here that has lost their virginity. It goes against the spirit of the game.

(Have fun. I’ll be watching .)

Damn, and I thought the last couple SRK character battles were complicated…

Are you sure you’re doing skills right, Angelpalm? It sounds like you’ve filled up all your class skills except profession, but still have points left over, and I don’t think that can be correct. I could just be misunderstanding, though.

I am saying that proffession as a class skill is crap because it really serves no purpose. Switch it with something else ranger related so I dont incure a penalty.

I’ll play as an alt or whatever just let me know what and how we are using 3.5. I got everything DND wise from the beginning to 4th. I especially like forgotten realms and I have 98% of everything digitalized as well. For all of the past editions and a good chunk of 4th. Yes I was the DM people wanted. Not the rule monger one and most of my stuff was story driven and was up to PC action So sometimes unless they needed quest direction I let them rock, as long as it wasn’t too dumb otherwise I would hold them to the word of thier actions and let the game unfold that way. Which needless to say was not always what the PC’s wanted but it made for some interesting sessions. So if I can’t play due to slot constraint it’s cool, use me as a source if need be, I don’t mind. I’ve only been apart of person groups and have never seen an online sessions before so I’m interested to see how it goes.

Yeah the only time I seen anyone do role play like this online was like in irc or something that moved fast.

But we must speaketh in olde englisheth.

So you seem to be the only one of the original group that has a character started. If anyone else could let me know what they want I can fill the vacant archtype and get to work on my own.

EDIT for Manx: How are we handling Deities and Alignments? Pretty sure certain types of people won’t get along, probably need to set something up from the beginning. Neutral stuff usually works well enough.

I was just being sarcastic. I got a Skype account, and IRC also works. Dunno what the Google thing is but I am sure I could figure it out.

Any idea what you would like to run yet Rock?

EDIT: If everyone else has normal roles figured out, I’d like to make a Bard which is my favorite go-to class as it is pretty fun and versatile.

Sounds good, can Tank if needed and deal out damage. Need to dust off whatever 3.5 books I have left and refresh myself.

Or actually use those links you provided since I remember a few of them being extremely helpful.

So a fighter, a bard, and a Ranger so far?

I am definitely ranged combat so I hope Rock can pick up the slack. Guess we will use Ayo as a distraction the whole game, I am gonna leave some awesome flowers on his bards grave.

Dueling and beating a Blue Dragon to save my parties lives in a violin contest, completely decimating a horde of ravaging Ghouls that were going to prey on a city, leading a Pirate armada decked out in a Steampunk suit of death against a colonial colony, Uncovering Dopplegangers among our party and silently dealing with them, and countlessly talking our way out of dangerous situations or with greater rewards.

Past accomplishments of my Bard, don’t knock a class that isn’t just a dedicated combat role, other areas can be just as important and we need someone with a Charisma score to deal with various situations and keep stuff from getting ugly. Besides I am just tinkering with the idea of playing one again, I’ve done it so many times I may try something new.

Not to mention that bards can actually be pretty legit in combat, thanks to inspire courage and buff spells.

That’s awesome but I get the feeling we are gonna be underground and you are gonna be shucking and jiving for a bunch of skeletons while I shoot arrows at their skulls. Meanwhile Rock gonna be doing omnislashes on like level 1 slimes in shit

Fool, unless those arrows are blunt they won’t do shit against skeletons. Finding some rocks and tossing them would be a more viable solution.

Still dunno what half our party wants to do so I am sitting on it. Never really done a Wizard type so may just try those shenanigans.

Azure’s just gonna be chilling, waiting for something that his halfling monk can headbutt in the balls.

Azure is making Krillin? Makes sense.

Can’t wait for a Beholder to cut him in half so RockB goes Super Saiyan.

Remember to use the **finalized **version of the players 3.5 handbook to get the most out of all of the charact. because there is a significant difference between the original and the rebalanced finalized version for all of the class builds both feat/ and skills. otherwise alot of the classes aren’t nearly as good as they could be especially the monk, ranger, and bard class.

Yeah early 3.5 Monks blew ass unless they specced majority into another build. I remember trying to make that work and it just wouldn’t have that.

I think even with the final rules Monks are rather lackluster, but whatever.

The main problem with monks is that two of their main class features kinda work against each-other; having fast movement and flurry isn’t too useful when you can’t flurry if you moved.
