SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

Hahaha… Why did this jabroni keep getting Sucker Punched? That’s what happens when just slap Choice Items all over everything without a plan.

Heatran just ran train on that dude. He had NO IDEA about that Scarf and his whole world got flipped, went upside down/Will Smith

he was a scrub, scarftran is a very common heatran set, seriously nothing wrong with that, but that crit hit was bullshit

@Infernoman, please, you got nothing on my stall team, that thing causes so many rage quits

More games with the following team. I liked the second posted match the best…

Don’t sleep on Infernoman, Mood. That dude is a turtle, riding on a glacier, in a sea of molasses.

He personifies “Fighting Without Fighting”

I still haven’t recovered from the trolling he gave me…

I wasn’t looking for a crit, I just wanted some residual damage for the sucker punching.

Choice band Bisharp Sucker Punch deals 96-113%, I just needed 4% at most.

That match was a W for me no matter how you look at it

Why don’t people use Brightpowder more? I’ve been using it on my Starmie and Curselax with moderate success. It seems like more people would use it, if it weren’t for the screams of “HAX”.

For the same reason everyone wants to run me outta town whenever I mention Double Team…

No one likes being forced out of their comfort zone and have to change how they normally do things, despite the wealth of counters available.

Unlike shitty Stealth Rock which grants far more benefit for one turn of use and is a lot harder to get rid of.

is brightpowder the item that increases evasion?

if you use that you are not a man

but in all seriousness, usually a pokemon is more effective with another item than waiting on a gimmicky miss chance, but yes, it does piss people off

@po pimpus, you haven’t seen my stall team yet, i pretty much don’t attack…ever

Yea, this guy doesn’t attack… He just forces you to kill yourself .

Say what you will but playing defensive is my style which transcends not just this game but all gens of pkmn as well as many other games I play. Street fighter CoD chess just to name a few.

I don’t fear what you run nor do I rage quit. Once I get my team together post bank ill be ready to play against all ya’ll!

i only rage quit on showdown cause it’s showdown, who cares

once i get a team on the cartridge, i promise i will never rage quit unless the internet “accidentally” goes out

10% increase in evasion isn’t significant enough to justify running it. Even moves that have crappy accuracy will hit at least half of the time.

It makes unreliable moves like fire blast, focus blast, and stone edge even less reliable. However, most of the best moves in the game have 90-100% accuracy.

It’s not that the item sucks, but it doesn’t apply much.

However, if sand veil and snow cloak were legal, then every move in the game misses at least have the time and moves like focus blast gain the accuracy of a fissure(30%) and 90% accuracy moves gain the accuracy of hypnosis.

I miss these abilities. When weather was permanent and sand veil was legal, I had a field day with eviolite gligar, and bright powder garchomp.

It was inconsistent but hilarious still. Even if you had something that completely countered Garchomp, your moves would only hit half the time.

they were just annoying and the metagame was way better without them

it’s more like, the fact that some pokemon were viable because you could miss a move was really stupid

Oh god, PokeBank is almost here. Now I actually have to do work and start banning crap…

sob

Maybe the Smogon metagame was better, since, well, NUMBERS! If there is anything that interferes with my precise calculations*(in a game with random damage, lol)*, then it needs to go!

What did Cacturne and Froslass ever do to you, Mood? Why do you hate them so much?

Not necessarily… What do YOU think needs to be banned other than Lugia and company? Which I don’t have any problems with, but you know, Mr. “Wild Wild West” over here…

Garchomp’s Sand Veil ability was infinitely better than rough skin.

Smogon hates Garchomp and Gliscor alot.

These two guys holding brightpowder sound really fucking annoying, but I want for them to be legal in Smogon’s servers and other servers just for trolling purposes.

Enjoy that Hidden Power Ice and Ice Beam having 65% accuracy suckas!(Sand Veils evasion increase is really 25% based on the method of calculation that the game uses)

The other Sand Veil users are kind of crappy.

Froslass will piss you off in the off chance that your attack misses as a result of snow cloak, but her cursed body ability is much better. The chances of disabling a move passively is really fucking good in comparison.

Frostlass is super frail so snow cloak isn’t going to really put in any work.

That’s my other query… What’s wrong with trolling? I love to troll in games-- Nothing is funnier than hitting mouthy Fox noobs with Luigi 0-to-death combos ending with DA SHORYUKEN in Melee, or just anti-airing every jump-in in SF and watching the opponent lose their shit.

Same thing in Pokemon-- Sometimes, you just wanna break out that Moody Bidoof and watch as Talonflame and friends get rolled on by da BEAVER OF JUSTICE.

It’s made even better when you get someone so mad, they go on GameFAQs or Smogon and make a thread crusading against “hax” and how they were “cheated” out of a win because they weren’t prepared for fucking BIDOOF.

Relax. Have fun. Troll a little.

How is that one trolling exactly?

Outside of the world of SRK, people suck at fighting games.

In SSBB somebody tried to ragequit on me irl for dat cliff hogging(and I don’t even play that shit).

In today’s Cottonelle soft world, playing SF correctly(spacing, anti-airs, screen control) is considered trolling. Especially when you don’t do anything flashy like big combos or Supers/Ultras, sadly.
