It is. Males can pass on abilities and females can pass on moves now.
He has a hidden ability (as do all of the starters now) as of Gen V (Black/White Version).
Torchic and its evolved forms can have Speed Boost. Like how Charmander and its family line can have Solar Power (33% Sp. Atk Boost in sunshine)

The other spiders that can learn this move are entirely too frail and you’re basically sacrificing a pokemon to set up Sticky Web, so its not going to be the force yall make it out to be…
Plus Shuckle is taunt bait imo, so maybe he can’t even make good use out of it lol
Galvawhatever is probably gonna be the best user of sticky web since it can actually do stuff unlike Shuckle and has good speed.
In Gev V, the hidden abilities were introduced, but in order to acquire such a pokemon, you had to use the Dream World to get such a pokemon with its rare ability.
Now, you can get that ability via catching the pokemon in the Friend Safari, while the friend is online.
I’m not super sure that Breeding can get you the hidden ability without already having a pokemon with that hidden ability (e.g. Already have Speed Boost Blazkien to get Speed Boost Torchic)
Yea, I’m pretty sure one of the Parents has to have the Hidden Ability in order for it to get passed down. Previously, only females could pass on abilities, but I’m hearing that males can too now… If so, the male doesn’t have to have the same Hidden Ability, as it can be of a different species. As long as they have a Hidden Ability, there’s a chance the offspring can have theirs. For example, breeding a Male Protean Froakie with a Female Torrent Squirtle should be able to get you a Rain Dish Squirtle. I can’t confirm it myself but, I’ll do some testing.

You can also get the hidden abilities by catching pokemon in the Dream Radar. Got a Drifloon with Flare Boost and a Swablu with Cloud Nine. Not sure what the extent of the variety is there though.
Granted, hidden abilities there won’t matter in Gen VI until Pokemon Bank is released and you can transfer your Gen V Pokemon to X/Y, which isn’t until December I believe.
because both genders can pass down moves now, you can have some combos that were illegal before like speed boost blaziken, a tentacruel with rain dish, toxic spikes, AND rapid spin (before he could only have 2 of the 3), and there are others i can’t think off the top of my head
also, some DW abilities got changed like chandelure no longer has shadow tag but instead has infiltrator (i think) and scolipede now has speed boost (i don’t remember what it used to be but doesn’t matter as it’s now more awesome)
i’m thinking of using scolipede on a team instead of blaziken’s broke ass

co jones the problem isn’t speed boost. it’s speed boost with baton pass at the same time, since before, you weren’t able to pass both down through breeding at the same time.
but now you can!
I never played BW and BW2. I basically skipped Gen V in its entirety. So all Gen V and Gen VI Pokemon are new to me!
