SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

It sounds like to me you just want to use Arbok but if you want a great switcheroo user whimsicott is probably the best or noivern. Then you can run arbok as a coil gunk shot guy.

switch in on SD, he hits you with Crunch, then hits you with BP, you die, not a counter

+2 252 Atk Mega Lucario Crunch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 266-314 (82 - 96.9%) – guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Adaptability Mega Lucario Bullet Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Aegislash-Shield: 67-79 (20.6 - 24.3%) – possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

Whimsicott doesn’t get torment though. Noivern, on the other hand…that could be interesting, since it gets more or less the same set I wanted to put on Arbok, sans Gunk Shot (though it does get boomburst which is even better).

I’ll give the coil/gunk shot one a try then, or perhaps the trolling set Po came up with. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

You can also kings shield one of those moves which will just crush lucario. So about 80-90% of the situation on a SWITCH in he will beat mega luc and 100% of the straight up fights he will win. A pretty damn good option and close enough for me to call him a solid counter to mega lucario or at least close enough when considering that monster.

…my Garchomp has Earthquake/Swords Dance/Dual Chop/Crunch. It’s completely different!

Kinda. Sorta.

…not really.

and then he SDs again to guarantee the BP finish, aegislash works it’s just not guaranteed, therefore a check

and like i said before, he needs shadow sneak to beat mega lucario, which is usually not on his most effective set

I mean that is quite the guess you are assuming happens every time? I think this one is close enough to assume the lucario player will just switch out after one crunch or missed CC on the incoming, because you are switching something out that is going to take a SE hit from luc. I stand by this is pretty damn close to a counter and good enough imo to switch in on looking at the numbers. I mean obviously make your read and you should be good luc players are not exactly all that tricky they have no need to be.

I have a challenge to my Showdown brethren- Make a team with Kricketune and win/take out at least two Pokes with it.

Can it be done?

DEEEELEEEELEEEEEOOOOOOOOPPPP!!!

there is an achievement thread on smogon that has some pretty creative goals, like win with a single pokemon team, win using only a team full of normal type pokemon, etc

some of them are fun to do (yea i know you hate smogon but this is not competitive whatsoever and is more of a fun thing to do)

so, people are sweeping with magikarp and shuckle, your kriketune shit looks weak

It counts.

Alright I’m done with Battle Spot.

Everybody wants to quit on me. Not my fault you got outplayed by a Delphox and/ or Serperior user you fuckin’ scrub.

I KEEP GETTING FROZEN BY ICE BEAM

anyway uh imposter ditto kind of sucks vs life orb/sheer force landorus since it doesn’t get that damage boost. it was obviously scarfed so he chose a poison move to be super effective vs clefable, who thankfully thawed out, even though poison is not very effective vs landorus himself.
time to replace excadrill with a rocker /_/

Yeah, that just shows why a simulator isn’t a perfect replacement for Wifi. If nothing else, the Freeze RNG is all sorts of fucked up.

I feel your pain man. With my box practically full and players online turning into complete biatches, the game is using its luster. I honestly want Pokemon Z already, and start using Diancie.

GOMU GOMU NO… DIAMOND STOOOOOOOORRRM!!!

@Mood4Food77: How does Tentacruel handle M-Lucario? CC is around 80% to bold max/max Tentacruel while Scald is a 3HKO.

A healthy SpDef M-Venusaur can switch in on either set and 2HKO with either Earthquake or Hp Fire. It takes less damage from CC with 4 def EVs than Tentacruel does with 252 bold lol.

Is Eelektross still the best?

(The “best” what?)

@xlxlxlxl: Mega Venusaur does work better than most other pokemon by nature of its extremely fat ass, but it still tends to die to 2HKO to a boosted Mega Lucario, especially to a special Nasty Plotting one with Flash Cannon. To me, the special variant of Mega Lucario is the more threatening one, especially since for all my stalling, I almost never use Blissey or Chansey’s fat asses.

Anyway, I’m still not going to comment on the banning things talk until tomorrow, so I’ll just post some amusing–for one reason or another–matches I stumbled across earlier and call it more or less a night:

The second best doubles match I’ve seen so far: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogondoubles-82317048

If nothing else, one team has quite humorous names: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-82314190

I actually facepalmed at the stupidity and/or ignorance of both players here: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-82316897

I see.

It still weirds me out that Noivern is Flying/Dragon, especially when I literally just realized that Zubat’s line is still the only Poison/Flying type we have. I mean, a lizard-bat seems cool and all, but do they really need to keep giving us flying Dragons?

Flying/Dragon is still a redundant typing, IMO.

I was wondering if Eelektross was still the best Electric type. I ran it alongside Air Balloon Rotom-F back in Gen 5, and people would ragequit constantly.

CC is a 3HKO without boosting and after a CC, scald does 70% with teh chance of burning, tentacruel fears nothing on the special set, lucario would need to run thunderpunch to beat tentacruel and it then gets walled by other things

CC does 70+% at +2, which shows more of how fucking stupid mega lucario is more than anything
