(Does a “decent ranking” on PokemonShowdown even mean anything?)
I didn’t really screw around with my Mono-Poison team last night after being informed by the system that apparently Adaptability hasn’t been released for Dragalge yet. Sigh. Whatever. It kinda sucked anyway. It’s weird that Venoshock seems like it would be more effective on a not all Poison team, though that may be because I was/am too stupid realize I didn’t have a Fire attack to get around Steels like I should have. Also, Scolipede is at once both silly and kinda boring.
So I ended up trying to improve my “Hey, Knock It Off” team a bit more, which meant giving Gliscor U-turn, Tentacruel Toxic and changing Mega Venusaur to the bog standard one sans Venoshock, which I accidentally kept. Ugh.
Some amusing matches regardless, especially the one where I lost despite all the stupid hax I got and the very last one where I go nearly another 100 rounds with someone.
Feel free to punish yourselves thusly:

P.S. All this talk in the other thread about Greninja makes me want to finally use the damn thing, whether it’s on a Rain team or otherwise.
well, higher ranking means better battlers usually
but showdown’s ranking system sucks, it gets really screwy once you have participated in a lot of battles for example:
my account before the reset was only around 1800 and would only go up by 3 or 4 points per win since i had around 300 battles but since the ladder reset, i passed 1850 in 4 wins and now reside at 2020 where i have to deal with all the broken shit all the time and only have like 80 battles
the more battles you play, the less your ranking changes, which it should be but the amount it’ll change by is absurdly low
also having a higher rank helps determine usage stats for “elite” stuff (they do 1850 and above as elite but seriously, 1850 is pretty damn low)
they also suggest if you really want to test out a new team, use a new account, it’s easier to change stuff when you’re low ranked and not getting bumfucked by all the stupid stuff
@infernoman, what does bulldoze do for mega garchomp? you outspeed pretty much every wall in the game and all the things that are faster than him would be OHKO’d by another move, i just feel bulldoze is useless on him
I’ve been playing random battles a lot lately on Showdown.

Siglyph if used correctly is too damn good with physcho shift.

new team, not as much bullshit
FINISH YOUR MATCHES LOSER BRACKET.
oh shit, bious is gonna lay the smackdown on all your asses
i’m safe, i won him $100
Same round as when I was in winners, or new one?
You have to wait until someone finishes a match.

I’m just messing around with things, still not sure what direction I want to take the team in. I need a baton pass recipient that can take a CB Brave Bird from Talonflame. I might just try Bisharp again. I kind of want to drop Manaphy because mega Venu seems to be pretty common.
Gah, it takes to long to get a decent rank on this new system. Makes finding good players a pain.
@The Co Jones- I’ll be free tomorrow afternoon around 4:30 Eastern if you want to get our match in. I know everyone will be watching the NFC/AFC Championships, so if tomorrrow doesnt’ work, I’m free Monday evening after 5pm Eastern.
I have my reasons to run bulldoze… We’re keeping it at that and nothing more.

Monday is fine. More time to prepare.
I guess that team is just set for failure in rotation…
jeezus, what are people doing switching azumarill into sableye
on your first team, i think you’d do better running mega blastoise over starmie and running scarfchomp, this team is pretty much the same as mine with two differences, starmie doesn’t hit as hard as megastoise nor is it as bulky, they’re just there for support and megastoise hits all the defoggers and spinners unlike starmie
with megastoise, then just run scarfchomp
running bulldoze on conkeldurr is a bad idea because he’s too slow to even make up for that speed drop, and ground has pretty redundant coverage with fighting, but that team is real solid otherwise, also, the rest of your team doesn’t take advantage of a speed drop outside of maybe landorus-I who really doesn’t give a fuck because he’s landorus-I
running those would make the team go from pretty damn good to OMGWTF good, it’ll make most people poop their pants once they see it
pretty standard stallish team (can’t really tell with garchomp on there and idk if you’re running megattar or megachomp) but it’s real solid and without knowing all the options, there is nothing i can suggest
Umm… Ok…
As you can tell from the timeframe I slapped this all together at 5am. I’ll change things up later as i see fit.

Welp, I’m sick of OU once again, but balanced hackmons is still pretty fun
Nasty plot on a Ninetales with it?
