Listen up Gary Oak, As I have said before fuck you and the DS you play on. I can beat your ass but let’s be real honest here, you aren’t going to change over a few matches whether I win or you win. Idiots like you will never change which is why at this time I will NOT battle you right now. In time I will be more than happy to but for now this is about your dumbass trying to boast to everyone how you know that much more than everyone else. Your own stats prove that against certain foes Poison Jab does more. 4% can make the difference between a 2HKO and dying to try for a 3HKO.
Do you forget the fun of pokemon is not just what you see at face value regarding a match but what surprises a team that is built with a person’s playstyle can bring? Complacency (Cookie cutter builds) in matches spells boredom and stale sterile matches. I welcome gimmicks and niche styles of play because it reminds you that standard should never be that. I know what my team is capable of when I build it and have adjusted accordingly between matches testing and retesting. Your issue is you ASSUME based on what I posted what will work and what won’t work. You haven’t used my team I build with my playstyle for yourself.
Now this match I just had I lost but as you see from what I just showed, poison jab alone scared my opponent just enough to keep Clefable out of the match til chomp was KO.
I’m the villain? All I did was try to help him and he didn’t just refuse, he called me bad names and said mean things and and…IT HURT MY FEELINGS
for the record, EQ does similar damage to clefable as poison jab and doesn’t give a fuck about being poisoned
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 211-250 (53.5 - 63.4%) – guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Clefable: 226-268 (57.3 - 68%) – guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 144-171 (36.5 - 43.4%) – 99.1% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Garchomp Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 154-182 (39 - 46.1%) – guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
seriously, the opponent is dumb to think that poison jab is the move to be feared especially when EQ achieves the same thing (on a physically bulky set, you have a .9% chance of missing the 2HKO but since you use hazards, this shouldn’t be a big deal)
if a fairy goes physically bulky, any of them, garchomp cannot beat them unless they are weak to EQ (like mawile and klefki), poison jab does nothing to help remedy this issue and shouldn’t be used, and these calcs are using choice scarf, but since you use choice band, poison jab becomes even more worthless since you automatically 2HKO all relevant fairies with EQ except for togekiss in which:
252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Togekiss: 340-402 (90.9 - 107.4%) – 43.8% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Togekiss: 272-322 (72.7 - 86%) – guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Togekiss: 244-288 (65.2 - 77%) – guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Poison Jab vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Togekiss: 196-232 (52.4 - 62%) – 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
poison jab shouldn’t be the move to instill fear since it will leave you walled by so many more things, it’s an unnecessary move, here’s also why SE is good on a band set
-1 252 Atk Choice Band Garchomp Stone Edge vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Gyarados: 266-314 (80.1 - 94.5%) – guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
poison jab does jack shit to gyarados and this instill more fear into gyarados than any other option chomp has, who is also a bigger threat to your team than any fairy is (except maybe mega mawile cause he’s a beast but chomp revenge kills him anyways)
and for all of you who hate calcs, here is another reason why poison jab is shit on garchomp
you have chomp out
Opponent sends in togekiss
With poison jab, togekiss never dies to the one hit, so next turn, it’s automatically switching to a steel type since you’re locked into a poison move, giving the opponent the momentum
With Stone edge, togekiss has a chance of straight up dying, especially with SR out and now cannot switch into chomp again. While the enemy is most likely going to switch in a steel type assuming he knows your are choiced, it’s not as free as a poison jab (doing damage, no matter how little it is, is always better than doing nothing), you switch out. While the momentum probably has shifted, it’s nowhere close to as big of a shift as if you would have used poison jab
another scenario? sure, why not:
Opponent sends in any other fairy that isn’t klefki or mawile
Poison jab and Earthquake produce almost identical results, dealing 40-45% on most fairies if physically bulky and 52-60% on specially defensive ones. Since they aren’t dead in either case, the opponent is sending in either a steel type (for poison jab) or a flying type (for EQ).
The scenario is identical since you are forced to switch out no matter what (since you’re choiced up). Poison jab does nothing to remedy this situation.
it doesn’t matter, i explained why the decision you chose was a bad point and brought up points as to why
outside of a few posts, i did it without trying to sound condescending
you are the biggest fucking douchebag on here and all i did was try to help, you can go fuck yourself at this point because it’s seriously frustrating as you took a nice gesture by me and turned it into fucking douchebaggery
Great support to set up a sweeper with parting shot. Scarf allows it to outspeed positive natured base 110’s. I prefer scrappy over iron first for the ability to wreck aegis and other ghost switch ins but it does give sky uppercut a bit more damage as well ass poison jab. I haven’t used his 4th move slot yet so I don’t know how big of a deal it is since i run him with aegis usually I like stone edge for predicted talon flame switch ins. If you plan to have rocks up though crunch will do over 65% guranteed to talonfalme.
I suggest team mates of Aegislash or Rotom-w rotom gets a great turn core between parting and volt switch. I mean parting shot into a physical or special bulky rotom (also walls talon physical set) the thing will take no damage then burn w/e comes in next or if he leaves it in. It is pretty great. Aegis covers his fighting fairy and flying weakness really well while pangoro crushes his ghost and dark.
Yes I have had that happen actually. It kind of accomplishes the same thing anyway usually you are not using parting shot on things with magic bounce though. Absol you would OHKO with storm throw and crunch against espeon or natu.
So I can come over and watch you get bodied again by Mood4Food? When is this revenge match supposed to happen? Might have to take off work to see Po get his shit pushed in again lol.
