It was a cassette delete. How much more was it to have a cassette player in your head unit back in the 80s? Plenty of space to mount the aux jack thanks to the delete. Of course, I had to go cheesy and put the jack inlet next to “electronic tuning” which back in the 80s, electronic was plastered on everything automotive to depict cutting edge. The plan eventually is to get a big 80s brick phone off ebay that I’ll wire an mp3 player into with a cord running to the inlet on the head unit. Gotta love the 80s…
What car is that? I had a black 1988 RX7 (hardtop) while in Hawaii from 2000 to 2002. Was tight. I gotta find the picture so I can post it up. I shoulda never sold it either. DAMN!
It’s a 1985 Corvette, and it looks like straight up garbage, but everything under the skin is new or refurbished. I’ll worry about the looks later. so I guess we’re brethren by decade. I’m a sucker for 80s and 90s autos.
I admit, it’s a lack luster looking piece for most cars…for what it is and the price, and I like to tinker, it was fun to mess with. Plus it’s 80s tech and it blends in nicely with the interior on this car. If you think of a project for your car, give a junkyard run a try sometime. I end up staying out there way too long looking at stuff and wondering what if. Between the junkyard radio project and relocating the battery, I’ve slowed down on actually getting the car back on the road.
when you lift throttle, your car actually sucks air back in towards the exhaust valves making it very easy to hydrolock. The dude is lucky that for whatever reason, there was enough blockage to prevent water flowing back up when he let go of the throttle mid pond. Dude is insane, or has money to throw.
They both sound throaty as fuck, if I win the 600+ million lotto, I’m buying that bike or the rc213vs, and maybe think about adding a GT car to the stable.
Not really, the car is really fast around corners, but it requires good timing on the footwork and if you know how to keep the car weight somewhat balanced between the four tires, I have a hard time seeing the car being outrunned unless it’s a Porsche or a GTR.
Both S2000 and the FT86 are slow cars, but are balanced and lightweight and agile. You obviously need to rewatch all 5 seasons of Initial D.

And the S2000 would walk a BRZ around most if not all technical tight short autocross cars. BRZ and FRS come with pruis low resistance tires, and it’s slower than the S2000. S2000 is a faster car stock.
initial D isn’t realistic bro bar some driving techniques. My Sarcasm meter is beyond broken when it comes to this, so I’m just going to assume that most of what you said is troll.
