Hellcat Owner wrecks 1 hours after leaving the dealership

This will not be the last one

That amount of power is usually too much to handle for most people.

As for me, I would be satisfied with at the most a 350hp car that only weighs 2,800 pounds. A car with that power to weight ratio will be easy to handle at even at the limit of oneā€™s and the carā€™s abilities.

I admire that machine, but I know thatā€™s not one to play with. Iā€™d settle for the 6.4L V8 version of the SRT.

I never realized how frigginā€™ fast the V6 Rav 4 is. Iā€™ve driven the 4 cylinder versions and nearly passed out from boredom, but I was not ready for the power of the v6. Holy crapā€¦

Is it 4WD?

Edit: I just Googled it and it is 4WD.

I think I saw a drive episode where they talked a lot about the oversteer, they made some mods, changed the suspension and lowered it to correct it. Iā€™ll try to find the vid

My mistake it was a Mustang GT :expressionless:

The challenger I drove also had oversteer or some kind of steer.

Some of you might have seen a couple of weeks ago a vid on youtube Tesla Model S P85D vs a Ferrari (made by the same guy who did walking through New York as a Lamborghini Aventador), it beat the Ferrari, Tesla loved it, tweeted it, their stocks went up 8% lol.

Allen Wong the creator of the vid promised that heā€™d make another vid of the new Tesla vs Aventador drag race. Here it is :open_mouth:

The v6 comes in both fwd and 4wd. The one I drove was fwd.

That low end tq that happens in electric vehicles makes the tesla fast in the first 1/8 Mile. Funny how electric cars are forever limited to a single gear.

Is the Tesla pure electric?

correction: AWD electric
0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, the same as the McLaren F1

What in the flying FUCK!!!

So we have this 2006 Accord i4ā€¦Runs great, strong. No issues what so ever. And now,

Motherfucker is leaking oil out of now where. We just came back from a 100 mile trip from out of town and I donā€™t know where or when it started doing this on the way back. When I dropped myself off, (my dad doesnā€™t drive anymore if someone else he trusts is there), I smelled oil. burning oil. Thought it might be coming from the exhaust, so I went and smelled it, no it wasnā€™t the exhaust. .

Asked if they smelled something. My dad says kinda but he smells it from the front. They leave, and my dad just called me that there was a trial of oil leaking from the car. Oil everywhere. I fucking hope to god the car didnā€™t take a massive shit on us. I really fucking hope it didnā€™t since it bearly has 103k miles on it and itā€™s been a good car so far. Iā€™m gonna have to figure out whatā€™s the issue tomorrow morning. I hope it still has oil in there and itā€™s just a seal, the ā€œoil filterā€ issue, or maybe the bottom oil nut is leaking from there.

If itā€™s bad, fuckā€¦

Gaskets, o-rings, and hoses donā€™t last forever, if thatā€™s the issue.

Another drag race Model S P85D vs Ferrari 458 Italia

smoked.

Dyno run produces some staggering figures

864 ft-lbs of torque

Torque graph for standard p85

OMG. Thatā€™s a lot of torque, man. That would rip off the asphalt.

@pedoviejo
Iā€™d look underneath and see if there are any areas that is saturated with oil. I had a leaky oil pan gasket on one of my past cars. Also if the crush washer has been used a bunch of times with out replacing, could also be the culprit.

I checked the car first thing the next day. THe way my dad explained it to me, made me believe the PCV valve or the oil pan where bustedā€¦The oil on the floor belonged to another car, he followed it to his car, but didnā€™t see that it made a right and trailed away. I am worried about the valve gasket and the rings around the spark plugs. It is going to be 105k mils, and there is a bit of oil on the side of the engine right underneat the gasket, so there could be some leakage. But it isnā€™t my car anymore, so I wonā€™t fix it until he asks me to, I already promised him Iā€™d do a coolant flush for him.

Its not so much the tq it makes, but how it makes it that ā€œconfusedā€ the dyno. Relative to a gas engine, thatā€™s impressive, Iā€™m interested if anybody can make electric as engaging as regular gas cars. Also, the Ferrari isnā€™t anything impressive, at least from an engineering standpoint for me. The Aero kit is the best thing about that car, the drivetrain and engine are subpar.

So the SRT4 has been a fun car so far. Just raised the height of the car using coil overs today, but had this harsh metal on metal scraping on the car. the lock thread was rubbing against these fucking ricer rims the car came with. hopefully I can keep the height I had, becuase this ā€œstanceā€ rice shit is annoying and in no way functional. The car has a broken front fender from it being only 3 inches of the floor. I raised it to 4.75 inches, hopefully I can keep that height after tomorrows adjustment.

there is some serious maintenance that I have to do. Cannot believe the plugs where at .42 mm on a stage 2 set up. It was running Iriduim NGK plugs, and I changed them with NGK V power Copper plugs. They donā€™t last as long, but the burn is more complete and made the car run less rich, I still need this as a daily driver and being in California, I need the catalytic converter. I managed to ground this electric cutoff switch, but itā€™s still somewhat open, It doesnā€™t cracke as loud, but it doesnā€™t have an annoying ā€œrice tunerā€ drone anymore.

Also, the gear oil hasnā€™t been changed never. And itā€™s starting to give me that infamous 3rd gear syncrho grind. Hopefully the new oil will make shifting simpler. I can shift without grinding the gear, but I need a perfect double clutch to pull it off. An interesting thing is that you can use motor oil in these transmissions, and some people recommend it. Ed Peters, former Chrysler engineer recommends it due to the zddp (zinc dithiosphate) content in the oil. But I need to be switching the oil every 10k miles vs every 20-25k miles with ATF-4. And Iā€™m willing to try it, given that Chrysler at the time used ATF-4 not for saftey reasons, but because it lasted just long enough for the drivetrain warranty on their cars at the time, so itā€™s not like the manual knows any better this time.

Luckily, swapping the synchro on this transmission is super easy and would only take 2 hours for me to do it. It will also give me the opportunity to put RVT sealant around the faceplate to prevent the wear associated with the sealant used by the factory.

Other things are this shitty cold air intake thatā€™s been painted on. Tacky as fuck. I want to remove the paint with paint thinner, but I donā€™t know what platic K&N uses so I donā€™t want to crack it. I also need a mount for the catch can, and a better filter. The one it has is all sorts of ruined. This car is definetly a project, but it works where it needs to work.

I need to sauter some wires togheter on some switches becuase I donā€™t know what the fuck these folk did to the car.
mandatory oil change is going to be done as well tomorrow.
timeing belt change along with serpintine belts
and I get to learn about turbo as I go

Ebc reds stuff pads, Stainless Steel lines, and Stop Tech 600 break fluid coming in this week to. I cannot wait to install them.

Hoepfully I can get a Diablo Sport tunner and make a ā€œEcoā€ tune and a ā€œFunā€ tune. I really miss the 25 city mpg of the accord with a simple spark plug and air filter swap. This one has about 21 mpg city.

the one thing I hate about the car is that my friends challenger turns sharper and faster than this car. Oh well, time to learn how to use the E-Brake as god intended.

Ok folks, itā€™s time for me to get a new(ish) [used] car. Iā€™ve got it narrowed down to two. 2012 Lexus ES 350, and a 2012 Acura TL. Both are in the ~ 25K range. I want an intro luxury car and the non standard feature I want the most is A/C seats.

Opinions?
