Sick Subie! What work have you done to it? It seems like some of those videos you posted the people you were up against had some issues on their launch, especially the 600rr.
thanks man, basicly full bolt ons racegas or e85
just two videos was from a launch
the my friends civic was running mid 11s at the time, he also was also on slicks, and i was on 91 octane on that race (very old video), dirty public road + fwd aint exactly in his favor from a launch lol
as for the 600cc bike, from what i heard his a good rider, and he did eventually caught me at the very end,
i can pretty much pull 1.5 60ft allday, and 600cc bikes with average riders usually pull about 1.7-1.8 ranges on the 60ft
and nothing can really match AWD on the dirty street, unless your full slicked out, but even then you still have to prep the road (lots of VHT) and cleaning to make use of it
EDIT: Word, I guess you got really good at this type of driving, the GTR is a beast of a car, and when you mention that all youāve done are bolt ons, holy crap. You do any other type of racing?
I personally had a couple subarus myself, but Iām getting into sport bike riding this year and Iām trying to get a truck for when I decide to do track days.
Against that GTR, that didnāt even look real LOL. It is a vehicle that Iām extremely fascinated with. Kudos to you on the mods @DSS.
yea, i been into drag racing since 2003, god damn im old, yea GTRs are def beast car, but hey its hard to compare with a modded can vs a nearly bone stock car,
id like to get into road course racing, but the cost is just way too much, single track day fee alone can range from $300 - $400, you to buy new tires, brake pad/rotors, after you beat on the car, then comes hotel fees, food and son on, so your looking around over a grand just to get into a good track day, and the risk of completely fucking up your car, take turns at a high speed,
so i choose straight line racing lol, thats usually $150 for a good day, food, gas and etc.
thanks man, yea the GTR owner was the one that called me out to race and was so confident he will win, tryed to put me to shame by getting into video haha
GTRās are badass tho
Word, well you can always do Auto X and haul the tires in the back seats. If you get busted street racing in Cali, isnāt there a chance that they are going to impound/destroy your car?
I thought about getting some stuff done to my ride (06 Charger R/T). However, the power to weight ratio is gonna be a bitch to make any sense out of it. I have seen some vids of cars in the LX Platform pushing high 11ās in the quarter.
hmm so I took my car to a sports exhaust specialist. Damn thing makes the floor in the room above my garage vibrate.
Gonna take it back to have the noise reduced. (this was their medium option)

Any of you extend your dealer warranty?
I did. It came in handy. . . . once as I had a leak in the rear differential. I do have Chryslerās Limited Lifetime Powertrain. It covers the following:
**Gasoline Engine: **cylinder block and all internal parts; cylinder head assemblies; timing case, timing chain, timing belt, gears and sprockets; vibration
damper; oil pump; water pump and housing; intake and exhaust manifolds; flywheel with starter ring gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; turbocharger
housing and internal parts; turbocharger wastegate actuator; supercharger; serpentine belt tensioner; seals and gaskets for listed components only.
Transmission: transmission case and all internal parts; torque converter; drive/flex plate; transmission range switch; transmission control module; bell
housing; oil pan; seals and gaskets for listed components only. NOTE: MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH PARTS ARE NOT COVERED AT ANY
TIME.
Rear Wheel Drive: rear axle housing and all internal parts; axle shafts; axle shaft bearings; drive shaft assemblies; drive shaft center bearings; universal
joints and yokes; seals and gaskets for listed components only.
Most people trade there rides in by the time they get to year 5 and Chrysler banks on that factā¦ Hence why it is non-transferrable. Believe me, this car is gonna be mine in some shape or form.I got about 132K on an 06 Charger and itās still going strong. If you keep your car fairly well maintained, it may be overkill. I did it cause I was gonna creep up those miles quick in a relatively short period.
Today bought a 2012 Honda Civic Si. Regardless of the price point and how Honda changed the Si from what it once was, when I test drove it, I had the idea of daily driver with some added spirited driving, and overall to keep the commute not so monotonous but to not get me into trouble. The carās definitely more refined than how the Siās used to be, but once the aftermarket world drops some goodies for the model, I think beefing up the suspension with coil overs, a little love to the engine, Iāll be a happy camper.
Waitā¦what? Honda is going to come out with the next generation next year. The regular Civic, though, I really hate how the throttle responds. It lags.
Anyone else excited for the 2013 Genesis Coupe?

The drive by wire does have slight lag compared to how a throttle cable works, but I donāt notice it enough to become an issue. Again, I looked at other options, and because Honda has had a really good reputation of how durable they are from the get go, and having seen and experienced first hand on how well they can last, thatās why I opted for this years civic si. Yeah not only that the response is a little tender compared to the rough around the edges past Siās, and the handling, even though is good for a daily driver, could use some beefing up, but again, if I want to get pure driving bliss, Iāll take out my bike for that, as for a daily driver with a little zing to it, that I wonāt have to worry about garage keeping it or having to do extensive maintenance because of the forced induction and what not, Iām happy.
Got a paddle valve set up, easy street struts. Recently got the EXO mount with an aluminum 5 gal. tank from air runner.
I think I got more hyped when he explained why LOL

I love it, the GT-R raped everyone.
I miss that car
Very impressive for the GTR. Goddamn son. Would be nice to own something that can run under 12 seconds someday.
As it should. =)
Just found found out you guys in the US missed out on the Astra, wonder why they never sold it over there??
I came across this vid, Iām envious of redastras, this one looks seriously aggressive

If any of you guys like reading about modding, check out this monster of a Lotus. 13min documentry but worth watching. The acceleration is frightening.
EDIT: Apprently the guy got rammed off the road by a Porche (hit and run). The aftermath spilled over onto the internet. The guy is pissed http://www.lotussport.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4783

Hereās another documentry on McLaren, almost 30minutes long but worth watching if you want to see the build process and philosophy behind everything McLaren
