My budget for a new car (assuming I get a job before this batch of clunker money runs out) is going to be around $20K, so I’m looking at the usual economy suspects (Kia, Civic, Focus, etc).
Check out this bullshit. No way people are dropping $35,000 on a fucking Focus, I don’t care how many gizmos are in that thing.

A Smart car? You mean like the Smart Fortwo? They are easy to park, but actually aren’t that good on gas. They are decent on fuel economy, but for the price, size, comfort… you can get a lot more bang for the buck.
The smart car is Mercedes Benz answer to the mpg thing the gov’t passed about each car manufacturer having to make an average of 20+ something mpg to sell cars in the US.
Whatever that law is.

Had a 94 Accord that had 340,000+ miles on it. After the engine died I threw in a JDM H22a and w/ some Megan headers (I really dislike Megan). Was trying to save up for some Tein coilovers and Racing Hart C2’s and a paint job until recently my brother crashed and totaled the Accord :(.
It was probably for the best, as Cali has super strict emission and driving laws. I think you can’t swap different engines in cars anymore? Where before you could do it as long as you take it to the ref and get it bar’d. And I didn’t have any papers for my swap anyways. Also street racing over here has become a felony.
I’ve since lost interest in the tuner scene. ATM I’m driving an 06 Civic which has DOOOOPE gas mileage, like 36+ fwy/city. If anything I’ll probably just upgrade the speakers and grab some rims for it as it already rides pretty low stock. Maybe retrofit some projectors and get some HIDs.

Not allowed to swap JDM motors and you never had to get a car bar’d as long as you had legit paperwork and the car legally passed smog. If you don’t have papers, it is assumed the motor is stolen and you’ll get your car crushed.
The question is, what model?
If I was made of money I’d get an Evo 9 or a 370z, but I’m probably going to get an old ass 300zx at the end of this month and slowly work on it.

if you want a mini buy the OG if you can find one in a good state. pimp it up for best use. the new one is meh, theres better cars that do the same thing for a cheaper price out there. buy a swift instead.
edit, i drove my friends evo a few times before, fucking awesome car. hes got the evo VI special edition (mackinin or somnething). he says its the best evo ever released caue it was the last one that had to be the same as the rally version. 4 wheel drive ftw, hes got 345 hp right now, but hes gonna tune it for 10 gz very soon, said hell have between the 500 and 600 hp after that. new turbo and all, with meters and shit to adjust the turbo pressure. after that he plans on buying a nissan GT and pimp that one up.
