Rachel is the only one I’ve seen to have mind games like Viper. I think I might use Litchi and Noel too.
I’m axtually playing Taokaka for BlazBlue myself. She is a beast and can fight the top 3 (Rachel, Arakune, V-13) pretty well.
I need to go in the KOF threads though and find some vids of some good Leona players. I’ve played her in every KOF, but I haven’t seen stuff that she could in this one so.
I think I might be starting to understand why japanese players use square gates. It seems to almost force you to use finesse and smoother movements than an octo gate. My sjc bks seem easier now, but for some reason i’m having some issues doing ultras with quarter circle characters. I shall continue my quest for square gate execution excellence.
Yeah that’s the whole point. Octagonal gates are crutches for newer players and American stick users. Where it’s more natural the roll around the ends of the stick. The gate keeps you hitting where you’re supposed to be hitting on the stick. Which is basically inside of the gate. Sanwa sticks are very sensitive to movement and you can almost attribute it to using a mouse. Even very slight pushes on the stick will allow you to perform motions.
Exactly! Once I get over the issues i’m having doing ultras with it, I think my viper game will be much better. My sjc bks are already TONS lower. I was landing my seismos to sjc bks on counter against my friends blocked blanka balls almost every single time. And with that move it seems you just barely nip him with the tip of your boot.
For Ultras, don’t ride the gate, it’s a very minuscule movement, you shouldn’t even feel like you’re doing a QCF. When doing regular TK & BK I still ride the gate though, just because it’s not as strict as QCFx2.
Don’t touch the bottom of the gate, and don’t touch the side, it’ll take some time to train yourself to not ride the gate for Ultra, but when you get it down, QCFx2 will fly out quicker then you ever thought. I honestly cannot remember the last time I missed an Ultra on attempt.
Yeah I almost never missed a movement for ultras with the octo gate, I would just waggle it between the notches. With the square i’ve been trying to do two very small quarter arch movements, but this makes me jump at times. Initially I was trying to ride the walls with it, but that didn’t work at all. It’ll come eventually. Oh yes, it will.

Ever since I got to G2, I’ve been on a massive losing streak, it’s horrible. I’ve only won about 3 finals. I’m losing because of idiotic decisions and execution problems as well as my reactions times being killed. I think I need to take a break, I’m burnt out from playing online way too much.
Ah, don’t worry about it. I was kinda like that too when I got go G2. Then I hit my stride and started winning a lot of finals, heh. I guess it’ll just take time for you to learn their strategies.

Good Games this morning to you. Just remember what I told you and Palidin about spacing things correctly. There were a lot of times in matches with both of you that I caught you with a tripguard cr. mk/ex seismo for life. Also, remember what I said about being creative on knockdowns.
And finally, just work hard and don’t get discouraged. I think I speak for a bunch of us in saying that we’ve lost a lot with this bitch before we got godlike so.
Man who the fuck is wolfkrone(sp?) ? I have him on my friend list and that nigga is godlike. It’s like a contrast of styles for sure. Most aggressive Viper I’ve played against.

wolfkrone added me back when sf4 was released on consoles, when i just started viper. i didn’t know shit and he owned me in a mirror match. he goes “u dont main viper? whose your main?” then he took me off his friends list. he recently tried to add me again and i denied him.
Yeah I do admit that Wolfkrone seems to have an attitude problem, I can tell that much just through messages on the PSN.
I don’t care how good he is, if hes a shitty person I don’t wanna deal with it.

I will say this though, he’s put a lot of work into his Viper that’s for sure, so I’d encourage others who want to play an aggressive style to look him up.

You guys mentioned octogates… what I wouldn’t do to switch this octogate of mine out of my current stick. Man I hate it so much… mainly because I can’t dash as easily due to the larger radius.
I will probably take it out myself someday, but I don’t really know how to do it. I have another stick with a square gate, but the buttons are mapped differently and I am too lazy to switch. :razz:
