Sorry I misunderstood you. I’m still not sure what you are asking, though.
There are days when I get destroyed because I pick bad times to jump, or do the wrong things at the very wrong time, so I feel ya.

My execution is now a lot better than before, which isn’t saying much considering how bad it was before, lol. I’ve kinda gotten Seismo chains down now and my FFFs are alright, though they still need work. Will I ever achieve Super**“Maya”**jin(please don’t neg me for that lame joke, lol)
By the way, I’m settting up my PSN tonight. Looking forward to getting mauled by some of you guys soon.
I’m new to Viper so I can’t really tell who the best Viper player is by watching videos. To all you vets out there how would you all rank top 3 or 5 Vipers in the world right now?
I know the top 5 ranked Vipers in Japan as of 2 months ago were Uryo, Kindevu, Dashio, FZ, and Kaqn, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s their order of skill because that rank is not just based on skill but on how much they play, and Joe is not even on that list and I know he’s really good.
I love watching Joe play, maybe its just my preference, but I like all that he does. FZ and Kaqn seem about the same to me when watching their vids.
My top 3 picks are Uryo, Joe, and Gashuuku in that order.
FZ and Kaqn are cool, and fun to watch. But when you put them against equally exceptional opponents, they don’t get the W as much as I’d like them to.
I think FZ plays smarter though, Kaqn seems to just go for the flash. As for Dashio…he’s really been playing a lot more solid lately. I’d have to see more matches of him to be fully convinced that he’s playing to win now.
Kindevu’s Viper is extremely solid as well. He’s all about getting the W which is what I look for in Vipers. Though, his clutch isn’t as great as the other ones I listed…he seems to fumble up on opportunities here and there. Overall he’s a great player.
I don’t really consider Joe much of a player right now. AFAIK he’s all but stopped playing. When he was playing he was hella clutch though and definitely liked his vids.
Right now I’m all about that Ma Ero and Uryo. Anybody who wears red is cool by me.
I’m no vet, therefore I can’t say who’s the best but I personally like Dashimakitamago and Ma-Ero the most, all though I like all of the Japanese Viper players.
Joe’s stopped playing? That’s unfortunate. I don’t know much about Viper play, but he was always entertaining to watch. Kaqn’s quite awesome as well.
I heard he’s put SF4 on hold for a bit to concentrate on some other game. VF5 maybe? I don’t remember.
Thanks for the replies though. I’ve never seen Ma Ero before. Gonna check out some vids now.
I find FZ’s viper to be quite entertaining. He feint on practically everything.
I went to my first tournament today and ended up losing during semi-finals in my division. My execution during offline play is very bad :(. Oh well, first time for everything! I failed all my Viper brethren
Just got FFF on pad. I thought it was impossible, but turns out that LB/L1 on controller is a macro (is that the word?) for all the punch buttons. So FFF only works with RB/R1. Can’t get it 100%, but I’m happy as a pig in shit to finally have it.
I’m gonna go to Atlanta Revival next month and see how I do. If I do well enough on pad there, I think I’ll hold off on getting a stick for a minute. If not, I’ll stop bein cheap and buy one right away.
You only found that out now? Well, at least you have FFF down.
Good luck at Revival, and remember not to be too focussed on getting FFF out. That might cost you when simple combos would work better.
@ Magneto Maniac
I love how all your vids have the input noises. It sounds so clean and perfectly executed it’s ridiculous.
Whenever I try stuff like that, the result is a machine gunning of buttons while my stick clicks to death
But seriously, do you have any match videos? I’d love to see how your Viper puts out.
Thanks man.
I don’t have many videos of my Viper, just a few. I posted one earlier in the match videos thread about a week ago, it was my most recent match with her.
Other than that, I’ve been learning a lot and understanding Viper way more than I have on video at the moment. Hopefully, next tournament I’ll have a new batch of videos ready.
Kensou is leveling me up mad quick and I’m ready to go next time :china:.
Hey MagnetoManiac, from what I’ve seen in your vids, your Viper is amazing! I know I’m from the UK and the connection’s probably gonna be arse, but do you mind helping me level up my Viper? She’s really shit at the moment. Anyone else who wants to help me level up is more than welcome too.
Ah, there are much better Viper players on this forum.
As for playing…I think it would be best if you and I didn’t get accustomed to 3 bar Viper game play. It’s not really healthy…I rarely play online unless it’s with someone I know or on the east coast.
I’m sure there’s plenty of competition in Europe for PSN though, just check the PSN forums…there’s bound to be a Viper from there too.
So i’ve recently upgraded my SE stock stick to a JLF with a square gate. I’m having some success with this new gate (did pull off a FFF with it), but my ability to do sjc burning kicks has diminished greatly. I can do them, but my burning kicks come out so damn late now that I miss entire after a landed siesmo. Some of the time she just super jumps into normal kicks. I really want to make this transition, but its going to be rough going.
Ah, fair enough. Thanks anyway!
Yeah, fuck you too. (I say that with love)
