Spy Headquarters : C. Viper General Discussion

Well, I guess to answer my own question, we probably can’t have everything at once after a B&B. I think the type of setups we get all of out options is like a trade knuckle dash up jump.

I saw Dashio fucking up his setups all over the place, so I suppose we just gotta pick one and go before we leave the ground.

Now I just gotta familiarize myself with the options to get what I want smoothly before I leave the ground .

The sexy news is, we can still HJ burning kick around them, or seismo it up. I don’t know why I wasn’t looking for those as often as before.

I’ve been thinking bout some good “whiff combos” while standing around at work. And what i mean by “whiff combos” are the combos you setup to bait your opponent to react to a specific move they think will connect or they can punish. Just haven’t gotten around to practicing yet in training mode, but the idea came to me from playing a match against Coopa who whiffed a lot of moves on purpose to bait me into leaving myself open. I’ve been doing a lot of roundhouse burn kicks on a wakeup opponent and whiffing for a grab, but to develop character specific combos for various wakeup situations…hmmm…some testing is needed. I still fear the E. Honda matchup @_@

@DrumsAreNeat: Often times i feel that i can’t perform my combos on particular sides so i try to grab my opponent to switch sides. My HJ burn kick attempts usually leave me open for punishment

Then who’s she talking to on her cell phone when she wins?

Me

shes talking to her daughter lol

Another question why does Viper’s art style look good in game, but in the anime and action figures she looks straight up ugly?

the art in game is ugly too… like her portrait and stuff looks kind of awkward to me, not at all like her. i think they just suck at drawing her not in 3d

you mean those sketches in the gallery section. They seemed fine to me.

No way, her art gallery pictures were super gdlk.

I liked the one where she was adjusting her glove and looking upward, that’s like the best one.

They need some Viper action figures out, with TK/Burninating Kick action. The miniature that comes with the game just ain’t enough.

Anyone know Viper’s real full name? I think i remember seeing Lauren as her first name here and on the SFIV game, but no last name. I only bought the game, so if its on the anime i haven’t been able to see it yet.

I think her first name is Maya or something.

Ahhh, that’s so sad. ;_; I want to actually watch the anime, but I feel I’m just setting myself up for disappointment…

Is it silly to want a good, compelling story in a fighting game?

So, what taunt do you guys use?

I don’t know which one to use at all.

EDIT: I also got 9th in a tourney recently. And the only vid they have up of it is when I lost to a Gief cause I got lazy as fuck.

#7, glove tighten. I don’t use the English voices, minus Guile, Zangief, Dan, and Seth…so I had to whip out a cool looking taunt for the Blanka newbs who don’t like to stare in a friendly manner.

Yeah man I feel that. You have to be so damn alert the whole time to play Gief because just 1 little slip up is a big chunk of life gone.

I use taunt 5 if I’m playing online, cause most likely the other person will have the english voices on. She says “I’m just gonna make it hurt more.” Offline I also use taunt 7

I actually enjoyed the anime…partially because Viper is featured throughout.
Also, because it gave a glimpse into the characters lives/relationships that you don’t get to see in game.

Plus Viper owns Cammy hard. A lot easier than in the actual game, that’s for sure. Maybe if Viper had the mammary gland TK in game, Cammy wouldn’t be such a nuisance…

And, as far as taunting goes with Viper, one random jump HK > crouch HK from Sagat takes off almost 40% on Viper. Her HP is too dang low for me to be messing around with taunts. Even when I’m winning by a lot.

I posted these in another thread but I honestly don’t think anyone saw them.
Customized my SE.

I need an orange ball top…

Easiest way to taunt without risking anything is after a throw or knockdown. Also, that delay between your ab workout throw and crossup sj bk; fill the void with a taunt. Whatever damage you take because of a taunt is totally worth it.

Taunt 5 is the best

If I ever score a stun, dialogue fits perfectly.

Taunt to FFF xx U Mad
