Maybe you are doing it too fast. I use to have that problem and it resulted in Super (if you don’t hit up-forward) or EX seismo (if you don’t finish the hadoken motion before PPP). This is what I do:
j. Hk, HP, SJC (down, up forward) (by now, you had all the time in the world to confirm hit; if blocked: BK). Then I think hadoken PPP. So it’s super jump (forward!) THEN hadoken PPP. I’m consistent both sides now (with HP and MK).
Anybody with xbl and the ability to record shit and upload it to YouTube wanna have some matches sometime? I feel like I’ve hit a wall lately and I’d like to be able to post some videos of myself here so ya’ll can pick me apart and help me step my game up.
Nah…I just have issues with doing circle motions on the left side of the stick for some reason. Getting better, but things where I have to do 2147 or something are still way more inconsistant for me than they should be.
Anyone knows what Viper ethnicity is?
I’d guess some (wonderful) genetic melting pot of all the american minorities? She’s too dark to be caucasian imo. Maybe the big yellow tinted glasses are putting of my colour sense, but she looks like she’s on the latino side.
Viper aint no Messican . We must not be playing the same game.
She’s a red-headed white girl. With a tan. Seeing as that’s the case, she’s probably from Cali .
They should’ve made her a mutt though, with some crazy ethnic steez and a different lower body.
My mom told me one day: “Viper is a man. Look: you can see his d***!”
Then she added: “Plus, look at his bra. You can clearly see that he puffed it!”
Yeah…let’s hope Capcom will do something about that.
So I went to my first real tourney this weekend and got completely rocked…Part of it was me not completely comfortable with the arcade cab, and the other part was just nerves - and whole lot of 'em too lol…
I don’t think my execution is too much of a problem, but I think it comes down more to my ability to play. I know a lot of people coming into SFIV has had a TON of experience with previous SF games from turbo, to 3rd strike, to HDR. Which leaves me at disadvantage - I only started fighters seriously playing CvS2, and even then, I wasn’t that great. Do you “veterans” have any tips to improve overall gameplay? I know the easiest way is just to get more playtime with actual people, but is there anything I can do in training mode to work on general SF techniques? (i.e. throw teching, safe jumps, etc.)
I don’t know about throw teching but you can practice safe jump (as well as cross-up) against Ryu. Make him do SRK non-stop then use the replay function. Now, knock him down and practice your jumps-in (or safe BK on wake-up). It’s just an idea…if it can help you ^ ^
Got drunk. Played championship mode. Only used grab and accidental lp/lks. I did surprisingly well…
It was more fun than it sounds.
Great pic of Viper looking more… ethnic.
Mystery race… she looks Hispanic-esque to me in that pic though.
I randomly ran into Arturo in G1 a few nights ago and barely beat his Fuerte. I’ve been wanting to play an actual top player for a while and test my mettle since 90% of online matches I play these days seem like a breeze so I was was all like “fuck yeah…I can barely beat an alt of Sabin’s in a single online match :D…rationally I know that a single online match doesn’t mean dick, but I’m gonna go ahead and consciously ignore that and feel good about myself anyway.” Then I ran into him again last night and played his Ryu, and he shut my ass down more than anyone’s shut me down in a long time
Man, living in an area where there isn’t a scene sucks
aka sexxaaayyy lol
u know what, C Viper, as reckless as she can be, teaches u how to be carefull in choosing ure defensive options. We all know how 1 mistake can end it all.
So as a Viper player, if I were to take someone like Rufus casually, my opponents are surprised at how hard it is to actually land hits on me. Its only cause im so concentrated at staying alive, and choosing my option carefully.
Moral of this story is, Viper is sick.
Man don’t even mention Rufus. I got 2nd place in a tourney yesterday and I got peaced out by a Rufus…SIX STRAIGHT.
Why is this match so freeeeee???
Also, this past Friday I decided to hit up Ryuga and play him in a few matches. Any aspiring Vipers on the east coast or european peeps should look him up.
I played a few against Ryuga. It got to the point where blocking became all but pointless and I was quite scared to move. I second the recommendation, he’s very good.
Bleh, my Viper’s just so random, but thanks guys! And Coos, you’re too sick, haha, and if it wasn’t for you training me along with PaladinKnight I’d be up a creek without a paddle so thanks a lot for that! BTW, how’d you pull out SJC FADC in 3 bars? I can’t do that. Anyway, I’ve definitely got to play you guys again!
Anyway, I’ve been away from online thanks to uni work. Got a whole bunch of crap to do. And I keep getting owned by Rose players too, there’s something about her that grates me. Sooner or later I’m going to find a way to get rid of her for good.
Well pretty much if you buffer the motion from the ex seismo, it isn’t really that hard.
Just remember the advice about the backdashing that I gave you, as well as tayloring your game to what the opponent gives you, and you’ll be fine in no time.
Also, I’d like to say that a lot of Vipers have been placing high in tournies lately. Seems like people are starting figure out the character somewhat here in the US.
Thanks, I definitely need to stop backdashing so much, people are beginning to Ultra counter my backdashes because I’m getting so predictable with it. >_< Good advice about adapting to what my opponents do as well.
And actually, whether I can perform SJC FADC or not online is just totally random. Sometimes in certain connections, regardless of the bars I can perform SJC FADC all day. In others I can’t. Offline I abuse SJC FADC after Seismos, just ask Alcheymyst, haha.
Man, I’m so sad my internet won’t let me connect so I can’t play any matches, and I think I gave Ryuga my fetish for backdashing, I have a new fetish now its a thing I call how?, it’s basically Flash Metroid’s way of pressuring (which I still suck at excecuting, the man is too legit :D) but you like add in the Seismo’s chain (which you don’t do if they are too far away) after the TK cancel and basically any move you can SJ out hint the Seismo’s or c.HP you do a light SJ BK.
Some guy at a tourney was so amazed he didn’t even see me to the full SJ, it pretty much went like this Seismo Cancel > How? ( I screwed up because I fucked up cancel of m.TK, but I made it look intentional zoning ftw) > FFF > EX Seismo > SJ FADC > Reset ( this is godlike, lol stun ) > FFF > m.TK he made me lol.
Lol, I just can’t stop backdashing. BTW, good stuff at your local tournies man, from what you’ve been telling me over PSN, you’ve been tearing it up!
