^ This. cr.hp is a bit weird because you have to wait a little, pass the timing for canceling into ex seismo.
So recently I’ve learn how to do that SJC FADC mess. So that’s about all for the Viper shit I can learn.
Though I only do it in like certain situations really.
Yo i just got me that femme fatal stick…shits pretty hot its got our favorite MILF in the center with the rest backin her up like charlies angles and shit. It looks ok in pictures, but it really is a stick you have to see in person to appreciate.
Nice man, I wouldn’t mind getting one if I didn’t already own a TE :(.
I should of been on this like butter on ryebread! I need a TE stick since my SE has crapped out for the most part. Wonder if they are still available.
Finally learnt how to perform all of Viper’s advanced stuff, thank god. I really don’t like performing SJC FADC. Another I don’t like doing is Seismo>SJC HP TK feint, really dislike that motion so I used to not bother with it half the time but lately I’ve been using it quite regularly in matches.
Still need to iron out my execution and work on some match-ups. Oh, and I need to stop being so predictable most of the time too.
Yeah ryuga, seen you bust out that seismo>sjc hp tk feint pretty regularly on me lol.
I’m still working on my execution, but I can’t tell if it’s me or my stick =/
Need a new one ASAP!
You bust out Seismo chains on me like it’s going out of fashion, lol.
Blah I hate doing the sjc hp tk feint, what motions do you guys do? I get it but I’m inconsistent with it atm.
I do :bdp::ub: for the SJC HP TK feint motion.
EDIT: That motion looks really funky to me. It’s qcb, ub. I slide from qcb to ub for the HP TK feint. Hate doing this motion, it feels awkward to me but it does come in handy. Watched a video of TrueTech using a BK cross-up after this.
Hmm that’s similar to mine, I’ll give that a try whenever I get on. Thanks =)
No prob!
Ya, its a really nice stick the art work looks white in the pictures, but its really a silver shiny picture and the characters look like paintings wrapped in foil. Almost like a foil trading card, but its much nicer.
Hopefully they do man i ordered mine on the site posted on the front page of SRK when they mentioned the Femme Fatal stick. I would definitely recommend it, it looks a lot nice then the standard TE’s, even down to the box art (believe me i have a regular TE).
EDIT: another way to get a HJC TK is with the insta BK motion, but thats probably harder then just qcb ub
Ahh shiny silver thats pretty cool, I thought it would be plain white myself!
Oh btw, what ever happened to Kensou? Did he just stop playing?
EDIT – Didn’t see Ryuga’s edit, yeah that was the way I did mine from the start, so I guess we were doing it the same way, I actually went into the lab and tried doing it again, and I can now incorporate it with my FFF combo’s too, pretty neat. I just need to get a bit more consistent with it. 2P side still needs a bit of work for me though.
Does anyone else here find themselves forgetting to use strategies during matches? I mean, Viper has so many different approaches she can use (or rather, she HAS to use) to win…and, sometimes I simply forget to attempt them in the heat of battle.
I finish a match and realize that I didn’t throw a single seismo feint.
So, I start using more seismo feints the next match, and when it’s done I realize, I didn’t do a single TK feint > mix-up.
Next match, I realize I didn’t attempt a single insta-burning kick.
Next match, I didn’t try any FFF, when the opportunity arose.
Next match, I forgot to use seismo > SJC > seismo trickery.
Next match, I didn’t use a single overhead. What?
And, HP TK trade hits > dash up Ultra…I don’t think I’ve ever done that in a real match. Not because I can’t, but because I…uh…just forget.
Often, it’s possible to win without all that stuff…simple TK zoning and cross-ups wins most of my online matches…
But when I run into a really good player, I really need to bring it ALL together at once. Maybe I should keep a notebook with a checklist on it, or something…
Yeah Lone Dragon I do the exact same thing.
Pretty much exactly like you stated. Sometimes though I just like exploiting one thing in a match just because it’s fun. Like I’ll try to burn kick on wakeup over and over and see how many I can get before I get hit or it’s blocked. But yeah sometimes I kick myself for not doing things I should have. Like I’ll let Ryu throw full screen hados without punishing with a seismo. Don’t know why it happens but it does.
yeah same shit happens to me man. I think the best thing to do would be to write out a flowchart on mixups/tricks and a flowchart for approaching people when your full screen. of course it would vary by character but I think that would help lots rather than forgetting crucial options in certain situations.
also just wondering, anyone got any viper tricks/gimmicks? I don’t really have any other than hitting people with ex.seismos when most people try to grab and shit like that.
Well you probably use them already but…
-
After a feint, BK cross-up
-
BK cross-up after a sjc’d normal(example: cr.mp>sjc BK cross-up)
-
jumping lk/roundhouse into fierce BK(BK crosses up or you can input a light one so that it won’t cross up)
-
feint, walk/dash up throw
There’s a lot more, but I think it’d be old news to you.
My Viper’s gotten even scrubbier lately, if that’s even possible. I think it’s because I play online too much. Can’t say how many times I’ve gone back to the drawing board with Viper.
Thanks to university, I’ll only be playing SF4 once a week. During the weekdays, I have my lessons as well as independent research and homework too so no games. I also have to come to lessons on Saturday as well, lol. So I think this spells the end for Viper and Street Fighter 4. Oh well, one less Viper scrub out of the way, lol.
Not sure where exactly to put this, but I have a request for anybody who can capture images from their game.
Could someone take a couple shots of Viper’s “oh fuckballs, I’m about to get hit by an ultra” face? I’d like to use it as an avatar.
Ryuga, it’s ok man…I just started grad school so I pretty much know where you’re coming from. Yeah it’s a bitch that we have to juggle everything, but even if you can get in like 30min in training mode I think you should be ok. I usually just practice my execution on PC version, and it’s usually for like 30 min in between work, during my break, and between other shit I gotta do. Not only does it keep you relatively fresh, but it helps keep your mind sane too!
