I got my copy opening day, thanks to some friends. Learning Mitsuru, mainly. Gotta stay with my main Senpai. <3
I know Torrey has picked it up and he’s learning Akihiko.

Can’t make it to Meta tonight. I’ll be at my daughter’s first grade open house. Have fun and I’ll see you there next week.
Another game that I can’t play on PC.
Those who can come out tonight, please do. It’s my last night before the semester starts, and I’ll be there erratically at best.
What’s the best/cheapest/easiest way to go about getting my 360 stick dual modded within the Springfield area? I’m really bad with electronics in general and don’t want to risk screwing it up myself.
Or, if there’s just some kind of plug-in-and-play adapter I can order online, that’d be amazing.
Adapting a 360 Stick to PS3, is impossible. It just won’t work, for some reason I don’t feel like getting into atm/don’t entirely remember.
Modding, is generally an easy task for yourself, if you know how to solder. You can basically buy one of those nifty little Fightpads with the 6 face buttons instead of the classic 4. (L1 and R1 are on the face too). There are also countless guides to modding on SRK.
Also, if you’re interested into buying an entirely new stick, you can find yourself a bitching new Qanba 4 (Which may be what I do). These bad dudes come dual modded for the price of a regular TE.
I’m not entirely sure about people who mod stuff in the area, but in the Tech Talk area of SRK, you should be able to find out a lot more.
Actually, depending on your method, it’s not hard. In a worst case, you can always double up your button wiring. The first one I did was a ghetto xbox hori stick and an old ps3 gen one pad; I just wired both to the same buttons and had two cords sticking out. If you can solder a pad, this always works.
PS3 Device Identification is way less invasive and strict than the 360. If your looking to run a 360 stick on a PS3, run a cthulhu and an imp, colloquially called chimp.
Here is the old and very well documented thread: The official Cthulhu and ChImp thread - Try our new Dreamcast flavor!
They’re not. The effective ones are required to interface before proprietary encoding, and have to be stuffed directly into the existing board in a specific place.
The ones that simply plug into the usb are unforgivably laggy.
Man, missing last week has made it seem like forever since I’ve played someone in SF/KOF. I’m amped about Meta tonight!
I’ll be up there at, like, 5-ish with stuff for practice and what not.
I don’t get to come to Meta this week. Maybe next week. Have a good time everybody!
Good to see everyone at Meta again. One of these days I’ll be able to make it a regular thing again…someday…
@Drunkninja : Figures. The week I don’t get to go, you show up
im gonna be visiting on the weekend of sept 14-16th.
i know its not a monday but is anyone willing to house/get sessions in with me? i know im not that good, but ill put up a real good fight
I have the 14th off work, though I do live in Bolivar, about 25 miles north of Springfield (real easy to get to though, just straight highway between the two). I may be going to KC on the 15th for a tournament, and then I work on the 16th. But if you’re able to head out, just lemme know, I’ll get you the info necessary.
I want to go, Torrey. I may be able to swing that trip, since I’m pretty sure I’ll have a spare $55 to make it. >w>
Cool, yeah I’ll keep ya updated. I was thinking my mom’s birthday was that weekend, but it’s actually the weekend prior, and then my dad’s birthday is the next weekend, so I think it’ll fit perfectly. Not sure if the family is going to have anything else planned, but if something comes up, I’ll let you know.
Oh shit. I might actually be able to hit that up.
I need to actually start finding the time to practice.
Labor Day is tomorrow but Meta Games is open. Trying to figure out if I can make it. Is anyone planning on being there?
