@Sang: At this point, I’m not gonna head up. Everyone seems to be busy this weekend, so yeah. =/ I’m definitely gonna be at Meta though. I gotta get some BlazBlue in.
@Tim: Story modes are great. The only one that is a little bland is Valkenhayn’s. I really liked the Academy Side Story scenario which is just kinda how Noel met Tsubaki and Makoto, so it really has no importance, but I loved it since more of Makoto’s character is fleshed out. <3
Even though this is probably the only time I’m annoyed with buy the Special Edition for something, I’m enjoying it the best I can. >w>
Got back home, had fun this weekend. Also got my Extend disc in. But of course, the 360 disc isn’t region-free and won’t work in my Japanese 360 (unlike the CS1 disc), guess I still gotta keep my old-ass US 360 for something.

My son has apparently developed a mild case of pneumonia from a long-running cold. I’ve already contacted my Tulsa family to bail out for the weekend. Have to stay in Springfield.

That being said, in case no one knows, NLG is shutting down the Saturday meet ups for remodeling in the back, I assume.
Well, got a chance to play some SFxT with Sang last night. The game really plays great, much better than I anticipated. Haven’t had a chance to delve into the gem system, but honestly the only real hindrance I see of it is possible time constraints for using them in tournaments. Doesn’t really seem to break the game at all. Everything feels solid, also Lili is a pain to deal with lol.
Didn’t want to pick it up, but SFxT looks like it’s going to be so well supported that it is going to be unavoidable. The Gem System was make or break for me. If it really isn’t as all-consuming as it first appeared, that’s a big step toward me picking it up.
Yeah, I mean, the gems obviously help, but there doesn’t seem to be anything that results in making a character absolutely broken. And all of the assist gems come with a pretty major cost, so there’s no real risk of some random scrub stocking up on assist gems and creating some impenetrable auto-throw tech or auto-block wall. Also Pandora is kind of what I wish X-Factor in marvel was for that style of mechanic. You get a power boost, but it kills off a partner and you lose immediately if you can’t KO your opponent before it runs out. And it lasts for a really short amount of time comparitively. Seems best used as a combo ender or something.
SF x T is definitely a day 1 buy for me; my fingers are itching to start rocking King and Lili on a 2D plane. It seems like the Namco side translates very well to this engine.
The only negative thing I have to say is that I’m a tad bit salty I have to wait for a DLC announcement to get my main character (Guy, just in case someone didn’t know). I already know without doubt my main team will be Guy/King, with a side of Dudley/Lili just for fun.
I have to admit. I might be dropping SF4 for SF x T. Then again, it depends on how many people play it. Combo system is far more easier than SF4. I’m linking combos from day 1. SF4 stuff carries over but not too much. Lily, Kazuya and Nina feels solid to me from tekken side. Jin is a hella annoying character to try to get in when he has a life lead. I will admit, even more annoying than Guile. Gem system is hardly noticable for me.
