Springfield, MO - No, really, we play fighting games here!

You can think of Level 4 Frank almost like Dark Phoenix - if you get him to that point it’s pretty much over already. So you won’t kill 1 character, but you have a real good shot of killing a whole team. BUT if you don’t get it, he’s only ok.

If you change up the order of your team, that’s a whole different bag of worms. Nova with the Repulsor shield (for zoners) or the centurion overhead kick (for rushdown) means you could put almost anyone first.

Point made. I’ll hit the lab with Frank tonight.

I probably won’t change order unless I just can’t get to where I’m happy with my second. I really like point Nova.

EDIT: Hot damn. If they get tagged by Shopping Cart assist…

Box dash j.H, s.MHS, j.MMH xx Fly, j.LMHS, land, f+H & call Doom missiles, S, j. MMH, missiles hit, dp + 2ATK, DHC to Frank, Snapshot.

Lv. 5 Frank in one (heavily damage scaled) combo.

So, I’ve taken a major liking to King and NEST Kyo. I’m having a little bit of trouble going about getting a third character in the mix though. K’s combos are awkward and my hand simply cannot do Kula’s Dp xx Super business. I’m not really sure who else I want at the moment. Of course, I’ve only been through about a quarter of the roster.

I wish Vanessa was in the game because that would instantly make this a decision for one character. >_> DLC hopefully?

So I’m going to be out of town for the last 2 weekends in February (Chicago on the 18th, Tulsa on the 25th), if anyone wants to roll with, let me know. Going to be in Chicago for a few days for this http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=39543 and in Tulsa for this http://www.okgamers.com/forums/index.php?topic=3870.0 if anyone is interested in either of these events, let me know.

^ I might be going to the Tulsa event, I’ll let you know as it gets closer.

Vanessa is the only character I really miss too. I wish I could help more, but my knowledge of KOF is pretty limited. Good “easy” characters are Terry, Shen, Ralf, and Mature (and probably others).

That Tulsa Event sounds interesting to me. I’d really like to hit up more tournaments. My only question is if it’ll be Extend for BB or not.

And yeah. I’m sure I’ll just play KOF as something else to play. I /REALLY/ can’t see myself getting into it competitively.

Now Tulsa is an event I can do on a weekend. I have family there I need to see, and could make a full weekend out of it…

Is everyone planning on Meta again next week? I’ll be there with my setup.

Also, I’m switching to Akuma in AE. Any suggestions that might shorten the learning curve?

I’m definitely planning on being up there next week. I forgot how much I enjoy heading up there at the start of a week. ^^;

I’m still just biding my time for BBCS:X. And a good internet connection for online play. =/

Curses Torrey, Tulsa’s event is on the same week as a plan I have. Chicago is just way too far for me. Can’t go to either man.

I added you on PSN. Let’s play some Akuma mirror matches, maybe that will help.

Haha, it’s cool man. Figured I would throw out the invites at least.

Sounds good. I’m working on c.short/c.jab/c.forward xx short tatsu xx fierce dp. I’m having trouble with the link between c.jab and c.forward but I’ve got the rest of it just fine. Just need to get the timing down. I also need to get comfortable with his vortex positioning. I might have some time later tonight and possibly on Saturday.

I’m active on psn so feel free to hit me up anytime I’m in another game and I will switch it out. PSN name is same as srk name

Is anybody looking to get the PS Vita when it launches this month? It will have BB:CSE and UMvC3 at launch and SFxT in March. Not to mention that you can get SFAlpha3:Max, Darkstalkers:Chronicle and The KOF Collection:'94-'98 as downloads from the PSN.

Any thoughts on if its worth the $$?

I will most likely pick one up, but not on launch day. Right now I’m still researching what games are being developed for it. A PSV tournament at Meta would be nice.

I am interested in a Vita, but that price tag is a bit steep. I’d have to actually play one for a bit to see if it was worth it. PSP had some awesome fighters but the D pad was complete garbage. I suffered through it but I wouldn’t want to do that again now that I’m used to sticks.

Being able to play UMVC3 & SFxTekken anywhere is a pretty big deal, though.

Also Tim - you might want to try a c.strong instead of c.forward, I think it’s a bit easier, but not as long ranged.

Got my hd pvr working. Please critique my videos. It won’t be me winning all the time. More of close matches where I think it was intense. There is only two videos for now. I will upload more.

Anyone pick up SCV? I find it to be pretty damn good for a 3d fighter. You can always hit me up in it on psn: CommissarMonkey if you want. The netcode is pretty damn good.

Anyone understand the combo system for SCV? From the videos that I watched, it looks like you can go from a stun to a longer stun from a certain move? Correct me if I’m wrong please.
