Ok first of all Justin I don’t endorse any shady TO’s and being a TO in the past(Digital Mayhem,Battlegrounds CT) I know what to look for. I have also hosted/supported fight night’s which include PlaynTrade Walpole fight nights and BG(CT) Friday night’s. I am also giving Alex,Genmuc and his brother credit for doing work also for PnT fight nights. Springfield(Justo and his crew) for helping me with BG fight nights also. If I remember correctly you have attended some of these event’s and saw for yourself that everything was legit.

If that’s not enough why don’t you ask the stevens,brian from NH(Guile player), and EMP Dieminion about the most recent tourney and how they paid the money they promised! They can back up their creditability.
I also want to let you know some of those idea’s are from the japanese and how they run tourney’s. I don’t think anybody would call there way of running things stupid. Maybe you don’t know that so I figured I would let you know.
Please don’t try and even mutter my name as a TO and shady in the same sentense again. I am legit and have proven it numerous times.

Single teams character lock- At the start of the tourney you would let the TO know which two character’s you will be using. Now here is the catch…One character will be used in Winner’s only and one character would be used in loser’s only. What does everybody think about that?
I’m referring, Tom, to the TO you were working with in Roxbury. Without trying to directly dredge up the whole situation, everything about the way that TO handled (or didn’t handle) the situation was, in fact, shady. Also, I didn’t say everyone you worked with was shady, so calm down and stop riding whatever fame train you seem to think you’re on. I’m merely stating what I think about the situation you are presenting and that I think the ideas for these tournaments are a bit ridiculous to pay $5 plus the assumed venue fee. Maybe as a fun $1.

Again when you start your response with “Haha” it seems like your just insulting me. Please next time just give your response without adding anything like that. I would also like to say I am not riding any “fame train” I am just defending my character because I don’t want any negative feedback on my TO status. If someone comes in this thread and see’s any player posting negative comment’s about me when they aren’t justified then I have every right to defend myself.
About the suggestion’s, I am not doing teams at my tourney so running one of these tourney’s for $5 shouldn’t be a problem. Player’s spend the same money on teams anyway so I don’t see the big deal.

Whether you want any negative feedback for your TO status or not, you’ve got some. At least from me. The organizer from Roxbury was shady as hell and you supported him. I don’t know if that tourney played out and I certainly hope not. Also, running or helping to organize fight nights is a different ball game than a tournament. As for the footage of the BG tourney, that was what…a year or so ago? I was just getting onto the scene around then and naturally I was going to just about any tournament in the area I could pretty much find or afford to go to. You’re right, you do have a right to defend yourself. But my concerns are not completely unfounded.
As for your ideas, what do these ideas and my proposed pricing ideas have to do with a teams tournament and how much that generally costs…? I’ll pay $5 to enter and teams and maybe $10 to enter a singles, but I wouldn’t pay the same amount to enter a gimmicky tournament that doesn’t do a lot to prove one’s skills that are relative to the skills one would show during a standard tournament.
1.Random teams(Your teammate will be chosen at random)-I couldn’t really care who my teammate is to be honest, I don’t play well these days and they could only help me. But someone who plays at a high level would be frustrated with this if they get stuck with someone who doesn’t play well, like myself, and has to either carry them or loses because of them. It’s not a fair system.
2.Character lock-This leaves no options for a counter pick. I can’t say I completely agree with counter picking but, say someone has a 7-3 matchup against you, and you know a counter pick that can give you a better chance with another character you know the match up better with. Again, not fair to certain players.
3.SBO style tourney-If this is double elimination then I will say this one actually may be worthwhile…
4.low tier tourney-Tier lists are way too disputed these days and what you may consider low tier, someone else won’t
5.Seperate system tourney(SSF4 only atm)-There is really just no reason to do this…it just over complicates things.
6.Single teams(One player gets to use two characters) Can’t this is your worst idea, but some people are dedicated to one character and aren’t well versed in any other. Myself an example, but again a poor example. Dunno about this one.
7.New Character only-The games been out for…I dunno how long now. But long enough for everyone to be well enough with “new characters” that you may as well just run a regular tournament.
Justin, I shouldn’t have any negative feedback from anybody because there is video/player proof that they paid what they promised from the first tourney. There is player proof from the second tourney so they are legit(steven’s,Dieminion,and Brian from NH) and I made good desicion in backing them up with my name on the line and I think everybody else can agree.
Why didn’t make your suggestion’s this way the last time? I took offense to your first post about these suggestion’s and I hope that we can just put this behind us at the is point.
hey guys, so apparently i got a facebook invite for this small anime con thing at uconn next week for 3 days. its free to enter and they are apparently having a super tournament on saturday the 5th. for anyone interested in bemani on this thread they’ll have a iidx set up too and an ITG machine. Idk, it seems like it’ll be a really small con but it might be a fun thing to go to. i may check it out since well,its free lol
