Spies like us: The MvC3 C.Viper Team/Matchup Discussion Thread

any thoughts on X23/Viper/Dante? I’m gonna get this shit to work somehow lol.

I lab’d Viper just at the end of Vanilla, so I understand her playstyle fair enough. I also like her and Dante’s TAC/DHC synergy, and her seismo gives my X23 a relaunch option.

I used Trish(Low Voltage)/Viper(Burn Kick)/Strider(vjara). I tried to go for the unblockable round harvest setup.

I actually think viper and morrigan are good together. I’m trying to find some combos after burst time into the double morrigan hyper. The only problem is a good beam assist or lock down assist because I dont like ammy’s playstyle.

So watching MarlinPie is really making me think that I should have ammy on my team. His mixups (especially on incoming characters) using coldstar are incredible. I have Strider as an anchor on my team right now. Is it worth the trade? Should I use both?
I currently run Viper/Trish/Strider but I’m thinking of switching to Strider/Viper/Ammy (or could Viper/Ammy/Strider work? the order of this team is debatable as well) or just steal his team and go Viper/Doom/Ammy. What do you guys think?

Viper/Strider/Ammy is really good (imo by far the best order). So if you wanna stick with strider, go for that one. Though you can do snap oki’s similar to marlin’s with many other assists, strider works too.

Viper/Strider/Ammy is ridiculous. I only dropped it because I really don’t like Ammy that much.

I did some soul searching…

I didn’t find much…

… So now I’m running Zero/Viper/Strider

Team dark side steals souls. You’ll be okay.

Thanks for the responses.
I want to keep Strider on my team so I’ll try out Viper/Strider/Ammy. It’s going to be weird not having dark strider to fall back on…
I don’t care about dropping Trish. She’s works with Viper, but can’t take advantage of vajra all that well.

Also, learn your Strider. Strider is hella strong with an assist or just on his own. You can pretty much derp with him in XF3, but you gotta know your stuff without it. Upside is, he’s really, really, really good.

Yeah, strider is awesome and hella fun to play. There’s a reason he finds so much love in the viper forums, not only is his assist good for her, he’s a very technical character that gives a ton of reward if played right and not derpy at all, just like viper is. I love my viper dante strider, it’s even more fun than viper dante mags which was my viper team in vanilla.

Off topic side note: how can i change my nickname on srk? ^^

Viper/Trish/Ammy is pretty much a top-tier team as well. I find Trish to be more dangerous on point than Doom, with this team. Tradeoff of course, is that her assists, while decent, aren’t as strong as Dooms. But it’s definently worth looking into.

I thought about that. I’ve been playing Viper/Trish since Vanilla and I’ve got a bunch of resets using her peekaboo assist, so her assist has its uses for Viper on my team. I’ll probably end up trying out that team, but Viper/Strider is just so fun to play.

Here’s some tech from this squad. (part of the overall video)

Ehem? Same team different orders? :o

I guess, I like zero in front better. But it’s less important. The benefit of all my team switching is I now have a ton of counter picks for my third slot.

I only prefer Zero/Viper/Strider as opposed to Viper/Zero/Strider just because Zero can control more of the screen early and I’m better with him than Vipes. Also if you lose Zero, Viper/Strider is a much better combination to be left with compared to Zero/Strider.

I prefer Zero in second because of neutral state DHCs, what are the benefits of having Zero in front other than the vastly superior Burn Kick assist?

I take that back, viper/zero/strider is clearly the better order.

Awr? Why the change of opinion?

the reasons you said. I just finally thought about it harder…

oh yeah, one thing I was found was ending zeros combo with songemu dhc’d into burst time. It’s way faster than rekoha so you don’t need a hard knockdown for the combo ender and you get songemu assist.
