Actually, for a time in Vanilla, I ran Viper/Tron/Taskmaster. I’m familiar with how Task combos, so I wouldn’t have a problem using him. I love Felicia, but I guess I could drop her for the sake of making Viper more viable.
Re: Purification in a combo, I tend to do one of two things. Either I throw it up on crossup, Puri hits, I sj and BK to start a combo… or I L (assist button) MHS sjc MMH djMHS. It adds a bit of damage. I also use it to end combos when I don’t wanna hyper. Depending on who I’m playing, I can sj and grab them. Actually, I do that a lot with Dormammu, lol… I airgrab, Puri, sj airgrab, Puri, sj airgrab… Pretty much use the same tactic with Viper. I should note that puri doesn’t connect at the end of a combo – the opponent recovers in the middle of it, even though Seismo hits them (which I really don’t understand). Either way, most people aren’t looking for that recovery, so they get hit by Puri. If they catch on and block, the adjustment is slight… let them block it and charge a Focus instead.
I’ll reinstate Taskmaster as the anchor and see how that feels. Thanks.
As Destroyer said (just noticed, lol), it hits em really high, really fast. If you start with a Seismo, they’ll go too high. Puri is basically the perfect superjump height. If your oppenent jumps, you can’t catch them. They have to be pretty low to the ground (if not ON the ground) to really be great. Then again, you can sjc a Seismo, so it may work with the right timing… it’s just never worked for me, personally.
I’m convinced that hidden missiles assist does not affect HSD, It’s the only assist that allows me to fit 3 TKs, 1 ex TK, 2 seismos, and a bunch of normals BEFORE the relaunch… Combo gains about a meter and does around 1.06 mil damage, take out the ex TK and the combo gains almost 2 meters and does around 960k

Yeah, I tried sticking with plasma beam but I had to go back to missiles because of how great it controls the air space and extends her combos, I really think it’s the best assist for her… Yes better than Vajra
I agree. Vajira is good but I think once people get used to it it wont be difficult to avoid. People I have been playing have way more trouble against Hidden Missiles then Vajra. Hidden Missiles offers alot of options for Viper and gives insanely damaging combos. I can get close to 900k with Hidden Missiles but the highest I get with Plasma Beam is 850k.

yes. and Dr. Doom, Maybe Strider, Sentinel. but I think Doom would be the best
I can get 900K with Plasma Beam lol. A little bit more if you throw in a hyper grab assist at the end.
The only reasons I prefer using beam assist is because of throw and tech trap shenanigans. Throw before the beam hits or feint a TK blockstring and fake the throw and watch them get hit by the assist.
What combo are you using that gets 900k cause I tried the marlinpie relaunch and it gets 810k and if I use the thunderknuckle loop, its 841k

DHC into Doom for almost 1.1M.
I never actually tried the combo without the Hyper Grav pickup, but I imagine with just Doom it’ll probably be 880K-890K.
i tried it without the hyper grav stuff and I get around 760k
So I’m trying viper/strider for now I dont have an anchor. Basically I decided on strider/vajra because it covers areas viper cannot so well, also it is a hard kd so I can combo off of it or use it as a combo extender. Now that the air is covered I was thinking of a good projectile or lockdown assist. I have to keep in mind It will possibly be anchor and an assist strider can positively use or a character that succeeds from vajra assist also. So who would be a good anchor/second/assist character for viper/strider.

What’s the highest dmg people are getting off 1 meter? Been getting almost 950k with spencer relaunch and strider ender.
What combo are you using because I also use spencer relaunch and I am getting 850-900k
IAD j.HS, land, MH qcf.M (feint) (MH dp.L xx IAD j.HS, land) x 2, MHS, j.MMH, dj.MHS, spencer (slant), dp.L xx qcb.H, S, j.H, dj.HS, strider (vajra), dp.L, qcf.H, burst time. Optional: DHC to Spencer bionic maneuvers -> tiger-kneed H grapple for wall bounce -> etc.
Notes: You cannot double seismo into vajra as HSD pops them out. Must use seismo into heavy thunder knuckle. Also, you cannot seismo before burst time as HSD pops them out.
Doom Beam - DO IT.
I’ve always run viper/x/doom and since i’ve put strider in the middle i’ve gotten tons of mileage outta it. Strider is excellent with doom’s beam, too (imo). On top of that - Doom is such a scary anchor, lol. Like others have said before, Vajra is sooo good for covering Viper’s air space. Then Doom’s beam makes some cool combos for Viper and covers horizontal space if you ever need to approach or be covered that way. I think it is an extremely good team - only thing it lacks is great DHC’s, but you don’t need the best DHCs anyway with this team, there are ways to work around and with it.
If you run it viper/doom/strider you get a nice dhc from burst time into sphere flame. Or you can get fancy like marlinpie…
