my first team was mag/zero/dante before replacing Zero with Viper. I must say disruptor helps zero quite a lot, I say try it for a while.
I’ve been learning Viper and now I’m thinking about putting her on my main team. Right now, my main team consists of Spencer(Slant Grapple), Zero(Shippuga), and Taskmaster(Horizontal Arrows). Out of those three characters, which two would best complement Viper? I’m thinking Taskmaster for sure because of his assist, but I’m not sure about Spencer and Zero. I’ve read that they’re both pretty good with Viper assist and DHC-wise. Any suggestions?
Task has the best overall assist for Viper, but you wouldn’t be wrong to use one of the others if you prefer them. Though if you run Zero, I’d put Zero before Viper.

I started with zero on point but I was really surprised with how good zero’s alpha assist works for viper that now I start Viper on point. It works as a decent aa and combo ender, it’s like a poor man’s jam session.
The great thing with that team is that you can make it work in any order
my new option select for air throws i think i’ll start using. j.4H bk/feint j.H (delayed) j.S. Basically stair kick loop for an option select so on hit you will have the ability to turn it into a 800-900k combo easily. Only thing is your timing on the BK feint so EX.BK doesn’t come out.
Saw Kbeast using it and already stole it. ^^ it’s godlike, but pretty tricky to use in certain situation, like very low airthrows.
i’ve made up my mind im gonna rock the arcade from now on to get my experience. This online is atrocious. I go on now to test out new things and can’t because of the timing involved. I just feel i’ve plateaued with moving forward.
If only I still lived near anywhere…

I will have to rely on the texas scene which has an abundance of good players. Much of them way better than me. guess i will be heading to the arcade on friday. Supposedly there is a tourney in the works for arcade UFO. Hopefully test my luck there.

There are a few different ways you can run this team, but I feel like Trish (Peekaboo) / Viper (Seismo) / Amaterasu (Cold Star) would get you the most value out of each respectively. Trish loves a quick OTG assist, which lets her combo off of air throws and extend her combos.
With that assist, Trish has the ability to corner someone in one combo from anywhere. Once you’re in the corner, you can setup a Round Harvest unblockable (tridash backwards, Round Harvest, raw tag in Viper, call Cold Star, Focus Attack). That character dies, and then Viper is exactly where you want her to be - in the corner ready to call Cold Star on the next incoming character for another nasty setup.
You may say “well what value does Trish have here, I could do all that with Viper on point”.
I look at it like this: Trish sets up your better characters so you get more mileage out of them without having to risk them in the process. You can’t have two Vipers on your team, but if one touch from Trish leads to a Viper unblockable, dead character, and ideal setup on the next AND you never had to risk Viper to get it started? That’s valuable.
Trish doesn’t need the OTG on that team. Trish can DHC glitch into ammy, then raw tag Trish or Viper to continue the combo to come out meter neutral (or close too).

I’m also really looking at Hawkeye, but don’t know anywhere near enough to say something yet.
You don’t have access to DHC glitch from the start of the round because Trish’s combo pre-glitch only builds about 1/3rd of a bar. She has to stop around 7 or 8 hits in or they pop out of Peekaboo too fast.
And the Round Harvest unblockable method actually builds a ton of meter. The combo extension for Trish builds almost half a bar on its own, bringing the total for her portion of the combo up to about 1.7 built. She uses one for Round Harvest, and then Viper can typically kill the next character without spending any, or at worst ending with a Burst Time against someone with Wesker+ health (depending on how Trish started it, sometimes not necessary).
Plus the glitch is out in about 2 months anyway so I don’t see a reason to keep planning around it.
to be honest, Dr.Strange would be IMO, one of the strongest partners for C.Viper.
I’m not a big believer in Strange overall, but I agree with this. Viper would be amazing at covering the assist long enough to do it’s thing. Plus that 2 stage beam thing will probably also be good.
I’m really not interested in Dr. Strange at all. While I think he does have a lot of potential with Viper, I’m looking at other options.
at first glance dr. strange would seem like a great horizontal support for viper, but i think his beam assist may be more suited for teleport characters. i will still try it out, as well as his other assists to see how well viper/strange can mingle.
out of the characters officially revealed so far, after the disappointment that was iron fist, i am only really interested in dr. strange. i wanna see what nova can do though, and the rest of the characters.
Kjunk I pretty much just set up unblockables in the corner with trish and c.viper. I’ve been doing round harvest and burnkick unblockables with trish and c.viper for a while, and with trish first I can DHC glitch into dog.
