I’m resetting my tivo
Oh snap looks like they DID give Spider-Man the BND treatment in the comic strip but they are still drawing him to look 40 + years old. Hot damn that’s funny! Ah well, better to laugh then to cry…

I think it’s kinda poetic.
The comics had to marry them because of the strip.
Now the strip has to unmarry them because of the comics.
So the strip’s just going back to a time when Spider-Man was single it looks like and Mary Jane is still prominent in the story. I wish Marvel would of done that instead of going the OMD route. Seriously there was like a 5 year (our time) period when MJ wasn’t even in ASM, plenty of room to place stories in. Oh well what can you do…

Newsarama finally reports on the comic strip change and Mark Waid misspells Spider-Man, lord…

Venom Dark Origin wrapped today. Issue #5 didn’t retcon as much stuff as previous issues, it was more of a recap of ASM #300. Regarding Spider-Man’s marriage, you can’t really tell if he’s married to MJ in the book or if they are just living together which was a wise decision on their part. Anyway it was a pretty fun series only I didn’t like how Venom was much more of a mass murderer in this series than he was in the 90s. Most of the retcons I like, but some of them I didn’t. Not too sure it will matter unless they start referencing this series with regards to Anti-Venom instead of Lethal Protector, but my guess is neither will be referenced. Well it was an enjoyable series with good art but all and all ASM #300 was reprinted in Spider-Man Family a few issues back, you can get kind of the same deal / origin story on Venom at a cheaper price. Though I suppose if you want way more backstory on Venom and don’t want to track down Lethal Protector then Venom Dark Origin is a way to go too.
Mysterio has been THE MAN in recent weeks! Norman Osborn better watch out man Mysterio is going for your title of the most dangerous man in America yep yep!
ASM and Old Man Logan
First it turns out he orchestrated Harry Osborn’s fake death with Norman Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man - No Mephisto - (Yeah picked up the issue since curiousity got the best of me lol) and then in Old Man Logan, Wolverine #70… YOU GOTTA READ THAT ISSUE MAN IT’S TOO GOOD TO SPOIL! Mysterio’s making MOVES! :wow: PAD’s Mysterio story in FNSM showed how awesome he could be, it’s good to know that other writers are doing the same. DON’T MESS WITH FISHBOWL HEAD!
i remember reading amazing in the local library (before there cosmic spidey and spidey vs venom got nabbed; it could have been me) and thinking Mysterio was mad jober tier like “the boomerang” the way Spidey clowned him.
Spidey classic rogue scrubs have lvl up over the years. (think shocker was 1st)
Yes Sunday’s strip confirms that Stan Lee is doing a flashback series, not a OMD/BND retcon. This I don’t have problems with really. I still wish Marvel would have done the same.

And 'Rama reports on the strip being a flashback too. Go Stan, show Marvel how it’s done!

Since Obama is a self admitted Spider-Man fan there will be a special cover of next week’s Spider-Man. That cover will be hella rare. Obama will appear with Spider-Man in the issue. Crazy yet cool.
you wiley old man. i love stan. TAKE THAT YOU FAT MEXICAN DINNER!
lol@sano rant on newsarama.

In the words of Spectacular Spidey, “You can thank me later, dude.”

EDIT: I got beat to it posting this in the New Spidey Cartoon thread. =)
Spider-Girl was awesome once again, why is this book getting canceled like everyone go read it please… Ah well, at least it will continue in Spider-Man Family.
X-Men Spider-Man 3 was very cool. Ben Reilly chilling with the 90s X-Men word! 90s Jim Lee outfits for Cyclops and Bone Wolverine! Storm had her white outfit with the late 90s black color edit for the outfit HELL YEAH! As you can guess they made no references to Spider-Man being married, MJ being pregnant since Marvel likes to ignore both nowadays ROFL! Well neither Peter or MJ were in the book since it was just about Ben Reilly. Carnage was in the book too. Fun read!
Didn’t care too much for Waid’s story in ASM but the Obama story was okay. I liked Nuack’s pencils better than the Obama story itself.
The Obama story was embarrassing. I wonder what casual customers who bought the comic because of the hype think of it. I don’t think that story did anything positive in terms of being a good ambassador for new customers. If anything, I would expect the average person to read the Obama story and just assume virtually every comic out there is just as inane, just as childish. I’m sure some people felt their intelligence was being insulted by it. I am disappointed that Marvel just took the easy road to jack up their short-term sales.
Remember those old-school one-page comics advertisements where Spidey would beat up a random villain by using Hostess cupcakes? At least THOSE were funny!
