Jim Sturgess from “Across the Universe” might play Spider-Man on Broadway. Eh I guess I have to go see this… I wish Broadway tickets didn’t cost so much though… :arazz: Once in a while I score free Broadway tickets through friends, I hope this will be one of those times…
Broadway musicals… Psht. Sano’s such a cultured person. No wonder he’s our Mod.
So if you happen to score multiple tickets… nudge nudge
Sano, you are soooooooo lucky! I’d love to see Spidey on Broadway! Bring back pics, man!
What he said. :wgrin:
Picked up some Spidey comics today:

Amazing Spider-Man #246 $1
Amazing Spider-Man #213 95 cents
Amazing Spider-Man #222 95 cents

Oh and don’t forget SHOCKER makes his appearance on Spectacular Spider-Man this Saturday! I hear he’s someone we’ve seen in previous eps…
Ahem: http://spiderfan.org/comics/reviews/spiderman_one_shots/mythos.html
And: http://spiderfan.org/comics/reviews/spiderman_with_great_power/001.html
Yes, I am bragging. :woot:
I read the second issue of With Great Power the other day (even though I missed the first issue, which you reviewed). Thought it was pretty sweet. Definitely gonna get it when it comes out in TRADE, BABY.
Tony Harris’ character design for Uncle Ben was kind of surprising, but I guess that’s probably what his model looks like. But man, his rendition of Flash Thompson totally looks like Bradbury from Ex MAAAAACHINA!!!1. I got confused when I saw a picture of the cover. I had to double check to make sure it was Spider-Man.
In Spider-Man Family #9 coming in June they will have a new feature called “Mr. and Mrs. Spider-Man” written by Tom Defalco! :woot:
SPIDER-MAN FAMILY #9
Written by PAUL TOBIN
Art by DEREC AUCOIN

Spider-Man, the friendly neighborhoodchaperone? When the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier races off to fight a hostile UFO, Nick Fury asks (okay, tells) Spider-Man that he needs to watch after Bruce Banner. Now all Spidey needs to do is convince a city full of assorted thieves and felons (andDANGDr. Octopus!) to KEEP IT DOWN for the day, cuz, you know, this is the guy that turns into the Hulk. PLUS: the story no one thought they would see, the debut of all-new backup feature “Mr. & Mrs. Spider-Man”! In this first installment, using their individual talents, Peter and Mary Jane Parker join forces to prevent the Lizard from destroying his own family.

^lol sounds intersting…WTF is Spiderman Family?
A comic that features new one shot Spider-Man stories along with older reprints. It’s bi-monthly.
A really good 104 comic that all Spidey fans should be reading. :wgrin: What Sano said too.
I’m even more stoked for SMF #9 now. In stores on April 2. :woot:
Great might give it a read and hope to use it to help youngsters learn English (my nephew likes Spiderman, but seeing as English’ll be his 2nd language…he can’t say Spiderman XD)
Shout out to my buddy David Nakayama who is on art chores April 2nd for the latest issue of Marvel Adventures: Spider-Man.

Question-
Is SpiderGirl #0 her first What-If appearance?
^OK forget that I checked at a site and it is, mind you I’m reading it in support of the whole ‘Brand New Day never happened’ thing.
Anyway Spiderman Family’s nice but…Animu Spidey is freaking me out…
Spider-Man J? Yeah, it’s for small Japanese children. If you get a chance check out the original Spider-Man manga from the creator of Crying Freeman and Mai the Psychic Girl. That one is excellent. Marvel translated most of it but stopped once the story became too adult, involved nudity and other things that were too hardcore for Marvel to spring on the American Spider-Man reading audience, they felt. Marvel released about 20 or so issues. I wish they started reprinting that in Spider-Man Family… Or in trades… With the current manga boom it’s kind of crazy that they haven’t thought about bringing this out again and continuing the story.
Crying Freeman is the first comic book that taught me about boobs. I think I was like seven years old when I discovered it. This one time, I saved up some money and bought one of the books, too. Then I hid it under my bed. It’s probably still there. I’ll check for it later.
Yeah Riochi Ikegami is the artist’s name, had to look it up because I seem to always forget it. I read before that his realistic style is heavily influenced from him trying to copy American comic book style artwork while he was working on the Spider-Man manga.
Guys, the UNTHINKABLE has happened: I read an issue of Brand New Day… and I liked it. ASM #555 was the first time in months ASM felt like ASM. I’ve read some of Zeb Wells work on Spider-Man before, but even so, I was afraid he’d screw up Spidey in BND like all the other writers have. To my surprise Wells actually wrote Spidey without making him look like the inexperienced loser I’ve seen for months. Spidey knows when its time to joke and when its time to get serious. The artwork was freaking awesome! Jimenez Spidey sucks. I’m all for s skinner looking Spidey but he just can’t hack it. Bagley, Immonen and Cheeks do a much better skinney Spidey than Jimenez
Apathy-Inc, your boy David did an awesome job on the cover to Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #38. Cover is freaking pimp! The issue was enjoyable to read too. Really, you guys need to read MASM. Good, lighthearted stories that wrap up in one issue. I was never a big fan of Swarm but this story was good, nonetheless.
The Spider-Man/Iron Man story in Spider-Man Family #8 was kinda meh. The team-ups in previous SMF issues were a lot better. The short story about Spidey & Ice Man rushing to get their dates to a resturant was cute. Death & Destiny part 2 was even better than part 1. Lee Weeks should get another chance to write Spider-Man again someday. I hope he does.
Anyone pick up the Spider-Man: Reign trade?
Weeeeelll…
He didn’t do the cover, that was Scottie Young.
Although it was a good cover.
He did the cover they used for issue 36, which to me, makes no sense but whatever.
Well, actually it makes perfect sense (in that it makes no sense) considering this was his first book he drew for Marvel, yet it got released after his run on MA: HULK, a FCBD story/cover and several other projects not yet out.
Since the MA titles are usually done-in-one stories they can just drop them anywhere and they’ll fit fine.
Ahhhh I see. Well that’s cool too because MASM #36 is one of my fav issues and the first thing that caught my eye about it was the cover. It justed screamed “awesome”. I even have it as a wallpaper for my computer. :woot:
