Same. Good shit though.
Dang, I have to check if I even have a JLF at home before ordering. Kudos on getting them done!
It’s amazing to see how much this project has progressed over the years, and now it’s finally here. Congrats Toodles!
Good shit Marcus, glad to see these are ready in time. Might have to pick one up if you’ve got spare when we run into each other at EVO. My stick already has like 8 PCBs in it so why not another, I don’t plan on running it on anything other than USB… that’s for sure, lol.
I can’t wait to see some reviews, and hopefully some youtube videos of this thing.
$5 deposit to pick up from you at EVO. See you on Friday Toodles!
Ordered!
For the techno-peasants, this may help.
Alright, let’s rock n’ roll. Sent my payment for one of these beauties.
5 bucks sent for pick up at Evo! Thank you, and great work!
Props to the first one to do a play-test review in write up form or on youtube. Can’t wait to hear about all the feedback!
Ok, so I was wondering (having already picked Nerrage’s brain) what DC-DC converters where recommended here if one was insistent on sticking this into a PS1 stick?
Toodles,
I put in the new DC-DC converter. Any time the Cthulhu is in PS2 mode, it doesn’t like it. This time it would sporadically push buttons and directions at times, sometimes wouldn’t output anything at all. The readings to the Spark are similar, too, it’s only outputting 2.8v connected, and jumps back to 5v when disconnected.
I popped back in the TP-MA, and everything is dandy. USB isn’t a problem, either.
Damn. I’ll do some testing on it when I get back from Evo to see what I can find out about it.
Yeah, I’m not sure what’s up with it. Even from my converter set-up, it wasn’t working very well. I couldn’t even get the PS2 to do anything.
I’m curious on what is the feel of the stick with that thing. Pretty much the same without the clicking? What about response?
So just to be clear, if these go in a cab with a properly functioning power supply, we’re good to go? Nothing else needed?
Hey toodles,
just wanted to give more feed back. So previously I had a ascii optical using a dc-dc convertor from circuits @ home I bought about last year hooked up to a mc cthulhu. worked well with ps2. Switched out ascii for spark and it still had issues with a non operational joystick only on ps2. At the moment my recollection of how it didnt work was foggy, but for now i hope that info was usefull.
My first spark worked flawless on peawang, and recently installed the second spark with a ps360 and it works great, even with a simple LED button mod.
Ive had my proto spark for about 8 months now. Its running mcctulhu on ps3 and wii with sparky pwm/ arceye 2.0 and Ive never had a single issue.
Badabababa Im lovin it!
That’s correct. The Sparks come with a power wire that is (IIRC) 1 meter in length. Crimp a eyelet QD to the free end, screw it down to the +5v source on your cab power supply (or connect it to one of the +5v line on your Jamma harness, but direct to the power supply is preferred) and you’re good to go; I’ve got two in my candy cab.
