I’m going to need the last weekend of September (probably just Saturday the 25th) for an upcoming event. It doesn’t look taken at the moment, so hopefully this works out
Centered the titles of the sections so things should be easier to sort through now.
Jan: I added that tournament to the updates, just waiting on finalization before I add it to the list of tournaments. Since things are still subject to change.
Poonage: Just making sure but is this tournament in Austin at ArcadeUFO? Was gonna add it to the list of tournaments when I realized I was just running off of speculation, I’m sure it is but I could be wrong.

Just so I can reserve the date for now… Can you list a TBA Major for January 8th, 2010 in San Antonio TX? Alamo Gaming, the makers of ACGC, will be meeting tomorrow, and I hope to have a thread made by the end of the week.
Hey guys, so after searching through venues… Pat O Briens is still the best deal we can find. So I’m considering it for the January major, and maybe even some smaller tournaments between now and then.
So let me know what your thoughts are on the ACGC venue. Bar service, the food, the accommodations, whatever comes to mind.
Added. Just hit me up with the links or just post up that it is finalized and the thread will be made later so that I can add it to the lineup. FIRST TOURNAMENT OF 2011!!!

August 28th 2010
Be sure to add Little Rock GameCon to the list. September 3-5, Little Rock, AR. Tournaments in 6-8 fighters (no Smash arguments), as well as around a dozen other games. Sanford Kelly and Andre Lambert will be there.
Everything has been updated. I try to avoid posting a new post everytime there is an update to avoid spamming up the thread so to those who I don’t reply to I’m not ignoring you. Just look at the date of the update in the title or check the recent updates and that should let you know if I have got it or not. Sometimes I am late on stuff but that is either because I missed it and nobody posted it or I am really busy in my outside life.
Fury X: Added the name change and a link to the flyer

Okay… my attempt to bring back Texas Showdown has been hosed down by a copyright clause and two of the original organizers. I can respect that, but that isn’t going to stop me with what I want to do for Texas.
So Demon Jim, put us down for December 4/11/18 2010. We will be asking people to vote on which date works best. We will continue to use our current tournament series name, “Central Texas Brawl: The Ultimate Street Fighter II”. To be held at the Civic Center. Killeen Convention and Visitors’ Bureau - Killeen CVB Get Hype!
I added it in the updates but I don’t know where to put it since I don’t have a solid date. Post a link to the thread when the voting happens and I’ll put it on the front page. When the date gets solidified I’ll reserve the spot for you.

With the recent findings of the timing difference between the ps3 and xbox versions of SSF4. Should we, tournament directors, move away from the ps3 and use the xbox360 exclusively for SSF4?
Video shows timing difference between SSF4 versions : News : EventHubs.com
Dallas has this as standard for our tournaments. The main reason being most players are on the 360 anyway.
I’m sure more investigation is needed on the timing difference, but it doesn’t hurt to get the ball rolling for a discussion.
All tournaments run down here in the RGV use XBOX360. This is more of a because it’s the console we have an easier time getting access too which also leads to that most of our players have only 360 sticks.
I will state though that a few of our better players down here do not like PS3 SSF4 because of the speed issues. Even Justin Wong has come out saying he hates the PS3 version because of the delay the PS3 version of SSF4 has. I am not claiming to be really good at SSF4 but I do own both versions and play them both on the same tv and I do feel a difference in the game when playing the PS3 version. This definitely effects the combos with strict 1 frame timing and what not.
Even HDR feels slightly different to me but not enough to effect game play. This is probably something in my own mind but again it doesn’t effect anything to the point that something should be done. Then again I hate HDR and will always love ST. So yeah LOL.
XBOX to me just feels more crisp, this is my personal opinion on the console versions of SSF4.
However Tekken has always been played on Playstation and despite what happens it will always be played on Playstation. There are more players who use playstation pad more then they do stick and there is a huge difference in the controllers when it comes to these consoles.
I really feel the only reason people try to use PS3 as a standard is because of 2 things:
Its easier to transfer data. And it’s easier to use multiple profiles with said downloaded game on multiple consoels. You don’t have to buy the same game over and over. I really dont like the way XBOX has the rights for all the games setup and stuff. It is annoying more then anything.
That is what EVO uses. Sony is (was?) a sponsor to EVO so of course that is what they will use. I would do the same thing if Sony sponsored anything I did and gave me 50 PS3s to use so I can’t blame them.
