South East South Dakota (Sioux Falls) Fighters Unite

hahahaha. Yeah. I did. Hopefully we will have a blast up there. You’re going to Evo 2?

Probably not. I’m going to be in Las Vegas in June and it’s not in the budget to go out there in July as well (despite the cheap flights out of Sioux Falls). Besides, I need to be at 100% effective with the joystick by then, and right now I feel like I’m about 60% of my play skill on the thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t think I’ll be at full speed by the time July rolls around.

I feel you there. I get my stick in 2 weeks. Can’t wait to get that. It would still be an Amazing practice in seeing what you might be up against. To see the best players face each other and See how you could do better ya kno?

Come out to Galaxy Gaming Center tonight, at 7 o’clock, for some sweet fighting game action. Will be mostly Super Street Fighter IV but if I brought it and someone wants to play something else, that’s okay by me. Galaxy Gaming is located at 57th and Louise.

Welcome to Facebook

I, sadly, was not able to attend :frowning: Darn work! Oh well - I’ll get more games in with you guys later.

We had a new guy show up who plays Vega / Fuerte / Guy - escape out characters. Pretty good time.

Howdy

Hey, I’m nothing special, but I’m always up for fights.

Name: Nick (Stu Pickles on Facebook)
PSN ID: Mr-Apollo
Games: SSFIV, BlazBlue, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

Also on the 19th, the week of MvC3 release, we are holding an all day casuals event along with a few tournaments, called The ThunderBolt Arcade. I’ll get more details later (it’s also on facebook) but let me know if you are interested

Alright, so I set up a park page for South Dakota Fighting game fans. You can find it here: South Dakota F.G.C.
Hopefully we’ll get some consistency in where you can find events and how to get involved with them. I’ll move it to a real CMS at some other point.

Okay so ThunderBolt Arcade is going to be a an all day casual event (noon to midnight in Vermillion) with most likely a SSBB, SSFIV, and an MvC3 tournament (MvC3 being the main headliner) We have a $50 budget for prizes, $5 of it is going to making poster copies. We are getting a wrasslin’ belt for the 1st place person (usually ranging $15) what are some prizes that would be fun? I was thinking of some fightpads or SF action figures or something.

Anybody have any questions about it? anybody looking to come down?

I have no new info in the way of prizes at this time, but Lan and I are coming down for sure. I haven’t heard if Akulious is coming, but I imagine that he has to work.

I’m Coming. I gotta go to Philly a week from then so It would be great Practice in going in for Delta Red Squad. Bringing a PS3 Controller. I hope that’s ok. Should bring some Mortal Kombat 2 up in the Joint. Go Old School in there.

Sounds good… don’t know how “rough” the competition is going to be, but I figure I better support any event related to fighting games in the area. Either way, it’s good joystick practice for me.

Hey fellas. I Just Joined in a clan Called the Delta Red Squad that my twin brother named. We’re started a site that I would gladly give you in a sec but first things first. I would love for you guys to join in with me and make ourselves Known in South Dakota. Tell them what have we been up to while everyone else is where they are. If you wanna join the site it’s Http://deltaredsquad.webs.com. Join us.

Sounds neat… 'cept there is a lot of Cammy rolling in that group; I feel like my main might be a bit over represented. Still don’t think my DeeJay is ready to roll out on the dance floor so to speak - still got a lot of practice on the stick until I feel solid, so maybe when I get my bearings I’ll dig into it a bit more. Thanks for the offer though, and I’ll keep it in mind.

Hey, found the thread woohoo! Thunderbolt Arcade was awesome, had a great time. Pretty sure I got you all added up on to my friend list tonight. so don’t ignore this account down below.

Other games may include BlazBlue, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and anything anyone wants to bring. If attendance is high enough, we’ll run round robin or double-elimination style competitions. Games are played on both X-Box 360 and PS3 - bring your own controller if you like, or standard console controllers (and some fightpads) will be available for use.

For those interested the MN scene, and WI’s Focus Fire, are going to be hosting a 2-day tournament gaming event over the first weekend of April. We’re going to have tons of setups, side tournaments, casual gaming, a bowling alley, pinball, bars, after hours parties, mashing, and more.

I hope to see some of the Dakota players make it up, show our scrubs a good time and our elite players a challenge.

Looking forward to seeing you guys.

Thanks for the info! I’ll start spreading it around and see what we can do.

I’ve got casuals again this week… so if you want in, just PM me about it.

Want to let everyone know that PowerUp 2011 pre-registration is now mandatory. If you don’t pre-register you won’t be allowed to play in official PU2011 tournaments. We’re doing this so brackets can be made and posted pre-event, making things run smoother for everyone. Hope to see you all there!
