Last Friday of the month is typically our Fight Night. We hold a get together at a local shop and run mini-tourneys and host casuals. It’s free to all (though I won’t refuse donations :P) so it’s a great chance to come out and try out various fighting games, and see who’s who in the South Dakota Fighting Game Community.

The first one is our Facebook page and the second is a site that z.Epiphany set up for us. We’ll have info for events at either one of those. You can also post here, or at the other two sites if you have any questions.

If you wanna post yer gamertags/psn IDs in here so we can get stuff figured out, or just play online, that’d be great. I’ll try to keep the second post updated with everybody’s ID’s.

We’re working on lining up a venue to reestablish regular events, we should know more about that either this week or next. Is there anyway to get in contact with the majority of the FNF regulars or is everyone pretty scattered?

If any of you guys know people who play, direct them here or get their contact info. I wouldn’t mind getting another Friday Night Fights or something else to that effect going every once in a while. I’m not mad money like z.epiphany (:P) but maybe we can figure out what it actually costs and split it all up to have a get together at Galaxy Lan or where ever.

Any word on a venue yet? Just thought I’d check in about it. I’ve talked to a handful of the FNF guys… so they’re ready to go when someone’s got a date and a place.

I was thinking maybe we could get something going at the end of July. Right now, in terms of venues, Galaxy Lan seems like the best option I can think of if we want to do a bigger group. If we wanna just do a smaller get together of 6 to 8 people we could probably do it at my place. It’s not the biggest of apartments, but I’ve had two TVs with 8 people for some Halo fun and it wasn’t to bad. If any bad has any feedback/ideas post 'em here, or you can shoot me a PM or whatnot. I know at least z.epiphany has talked with a couple some of the FNF mainstays, so if z. or anyone else could ask 'em if they have a preference. I’ll need to prolly know at least a week or two in advance to make sure I get the time off from work.

Sounds like the plan is to run a meetup at Galaxy LAN, July 30th, 7:00 PM… there are details out there somewhere, but I figured I should say something about it here.

It’s going to be bring your own controller, unless you like playing with a default pad. We’re going to be playing on 360’s, since I don’t own any of the games for PS3, and it keeps it simple in terms of controllers.

I’ll bring my pile o’ games - which includes PS3 and 360 versions of all the major fighters… and I’ll bring a couple of PS2 games for late players, since I like to play the oldies but goodies once the mix thins out. I’m happy playing on either system.

anyone know if Sogen-con is gonna have a SSFIV tournament because last year they had a vanilla sfIV tourney

Hadn’t heard about it - the site for that thing is totally useless for determining this stuff. I saw they had a Deathsmiles one though. :stuck_out_tongue:

I finally dug through the SogenCon event list and found there are three game tournaments for fighting game fans: BlazBlue, Soul Calibur 4, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl… well, two game tournaments for fighting game fans. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m not checking any of it out, but if those are your games, you might win a couple of odd ball prizes… nothing as fantastic as money it seems.
