Never played a SoulCal game seriously, just button mashed back in the day. How do these games function? I heard some bad things in regards to design as the games progressed, counter-hits during movement and meter cost for the parrying system and whatnot.

Do you primarily combo confirm in this game or is it kind of just back and forth jousting with low/mid with crumples/juggles into combos? Similar to Tekken?

I don’t know why the negativity of having a super/Rage art. But so far I like what I seen so far.

Will like to see Astaroth return into his SC1 version, maybe see Lizarman back when was still Aeon Calcos, even if i liked his SCV double axe version
Sieg return in his simple knight phase with zero shitty magic calibur ice, Kilik return to be just chinese staff rep etc, basically remove tons of layers of fantasy crap namco jizzed over an once awesome cast

Will like to see some more SC lore characters, like Setsuka’s Iaido master that was killed by Mitsu or Bangoo or Joahn Durer and so on

Only ones that can stay dead forevah are all Mimics (aside Edgemaster), Necrid and SC3 lore NPCs (or they can stay, but only as NPCs).

Best series to pick from can be Samurai Shodown, ever from SNK like Geese

I know, right? The implementation of the idea in Tekken 7 is honestly fine, despite my initial fears. So, expecting something very similar here, I don’t see the issue.

The supers are the last of my fears, i hated that SC4 crap but i found them ok in SCV

Crap guests
Daishi
Crap fans getting what they want
Don’t have the option to switch off peoples CaS online

These are things i prefer don’t see in muh SC

I’m ok with supers if well implemented

Nice to see the good old Angel Step and Guardian’s Judgement. Maybe since she didn’t do many shield stuff, can I have hope for her sister? Also, does the impale move has a new follow up or it was just a video edit?

So it looks like Soul Charge is back and now they can cancel moves into the state like KOF. Maybe like in KOFXIV the BE moves are tied to the Soul Charge state and can break the Reversal Edge. I think Mitsurugi cancels into SC to break Sophitia’s RE and Sophitia does a finishing move while during SC to break Mitsurugi’s RE.

And if they did showcase something not listed as “SoulCharge”, I guess Guard Impact and Just Guard are pretty much gone.

You know they won’t do this. Guests are a staple more in SoulCalibur than in Tekken. Hopefully they get it right and I liked how Ezio fit in SCV more than other guests like… Darth Vader.

But if they’re going for the first SoulCalibur, Hwang has a better shot than Yun Seong and Siegfried might be the good old asshole. And if they’re going for a MK9 storyline with Sophitia being like Raiden, I hope for a ton of fuck ups like turning Talim into Nightmare while trying to prevent Sieg getting the sword.

Link in SC2 was a fucking great choice. At least commercially, the “Link in a fighting game!”-hype sold a shitload of GameCube-copies.

I liked Heihachi in the PS2 version of SC2 and Star Killer in SC4. The latter made me want a Star Wars fighting game from Project Soul.

But style wise it did’nt fit much… on visual side grandpa Heiachi was the most fitting/“respectful” SC2 guest imho

As long is done as Geese in Tekken(awesome) or Ezio in SCV(could have been done better), no problem with it

So, I stand corrected. Guard Impact is in the game and it doesn’t cost meter. But there IS meter for CE still.

Does Soul Charge cost anything?

It could’ve worked if it was Twilight Princess look that didn’t exist at the time.
