oh man! his name on conquest was MALIGNUS. hahaha he coudlnt even beat his own AI hahah. i remember super joe was playing and malignus walked up and said, “oh i see you use voldo too” and he proceded to get raped by super joe hahahah. i hated conquest scrubs. nightmare is pretty beasty, but if youre gonna keep your trend of only using chicks, pick up kamikirimusi, she has nightmares move set.
online play isnt that bad considering its almost impossible for me to get into a room. but i did get a friend invite from one of my buddies in LA and the lag wasnt horrible, but it did fuck me up at times.
I just get this feeling from playing and watching 4 like it is a great game. This is purely a gut instinct, but it really seems to have a lot of promise.
Where I said SC4’s netcode is almost as good as VF5’s, I sort of take that statement back now.
With VF5, I can at least block low properly in almost all cases except maybe against ranged low pokes (meaning, I just have a bit less time to prepare that low block than in offline).
But in SC4, a laggy connection affects the game a bit viciously because of how the game flows and how many mix-up strings there are. Sequences like MLM can be hard to block on a laggy match because SC4’s input buffer is “too much affected by lag.” Against an opponent that appeared to have 3 bars, yellow, every attack block and string was delayed and when this happens, SC4 can become a “safe fast move” masher fest.
That said, there is still serious competition, but I find SC4’s gameplay more sensitive to lag than I originally thought, certainly more sensitive than VF5’s gameplay and implementation.
But I still am totally digging SC4, but times when anything you do has to be prebuffered in maybe a third or even half a second early just takes me out of it sometimes…
Fuck Yoda scrubs on the real. At first I went by arcade rules where the winner keeps their character. So if I get a 10 win streak with Astaroth and some nig busts out Yoda I am switching over to Cervantes real motherfucking quick. My time is money, and I do not have the time to deal with such gimmicky ass bull ish.
I wouldn’t recommend playing SC4 online against anyone but people you know, and preferrably close. The quality of random players online won’t help you out at all, plus the lag is horrible, giving you shitty playing habits.
Whenever I actually try to implement any strategy online i just get bombed on. When I just start mashing vertical slash the wins start rolling in. It’s hella nasty.
Well nigs need to add me. It’s all good though because I currently suck and online games are hit or miss in terms of opponent quality. I need to learn against scrubs and people with skills.
Add me, I’ll probably be willing to get you in on some rotations or play some games. I’m trying to refine my strategy to play like a cheap bitch though.
All I gotta say is that the matchmaking system is horrible if you’re just playing quick random games. 90% of the time you get “game full” or something to the effect, and then you gotta go back ALLL the way to the beginning of the search and get a new list. Oh yea and Quickmatch never works for me. They don’t make it easy to join a friend’s game either, you’d think people would learn from Bungie’s incredible matchmaking system.
Just got the game, and I’ve gotta say a lot has changed since Soul Calibur II. Talim getting so many random automatic movements at the end of her moves is really annoying.
I think the worst part about the online play is you have these people that are like lv. 30 or so and think in their head that they are on some hella bomb shit. But when I see them play all i can see is that their skill is pure trash…but no fret. These people that believe that they are “good” at the game will more than likely show up at PAX this year and well to put in Soul Calibur terms.
“THE PAGES OF HISTORY WILL BE REWRITTEN”
unfortunately it’ll be rewritten with all of them getting raped, but hopefully super joe won’t end up winning this one after having a bracket with only 1 threat (me), and facing robert in the finals…
