In case nobody read it the first time, i’m going to say it again: SONY BOUGHT THE RIGHTS! They have total control over where the Soul Calibur license goes, so don’t expect to see it on a Microsoft or Nintendo console. At least I don’t have to deal with Link whores anymore (the whole SC3 should be for GC so “insert random fanboy” can use Link again is just pissing me off. At least the Xbox people make sense: Xbox does have the most power, but compare the amount of people that play most Xbox fighters as opposed to the people who play Halo 2 or DOA).
SC3 will sell more for PS2 anyways BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE OWN PS2s THAN XBOXes OR GCs. There, I’ve said it. Must we say more?
**I HEARD THE REASON SC2 WAS EXCLUSIVE NOW FOR PS2 WAS BECAUSE NINTENDO AND XBOX VERSION WHERE GOING TO BE ON THIER NEXT GENERATION SYSTEMS. THAT’S JUST WHAT I HEARD.
The only reason I’m glad it’s on one system (could care less which one) is so we don’t have bullshit gimmick characters popping up again. I mean c’mon, Spawn and Link…yeah baby. I say if they ever make a SF4 or CvS3 they include Donkey Kong and Yoshi, cause cross over characters are SO cool.
You haven’t even PLAYED the damn game yet!!! What possible problems could you have? I’m still optimistic that they’ll make the game as good as the original Soul Calibur, or at least better than 2. Maybe they’ll even switch the eyes back to SC1-style, so everyone doesn’t look american.
In sc1, everyone had eyes that more closely resembled their nationality. Mitsurugi and the other japanese had the standard asian epicamphic folds, Maxi and Kilik had the fold, but not so much. Ivy and the other non-asian characters had regular eyes, like everyone but Talim has in SC2. In sc2, everyone has eyes that are almost the same (no fold), like suddenly they’re all half american.
Good catch, there. I meant every asian character’s eyes in SC1 was typical of their nationality, whereas in 2, the asian cast had the epicampic folds removed, as if they were half caucasian suddenly. How can you call it cartoony, though? Namco prides itself on their fighting games looking as realistic as possible. This was just a character re-design for some lame reason.
