I would agree with your last point but all the new faces are a bit strange to me. I definitely agree with the character slot comment, would be a shame to fill them with similar characters when there are so many great SoulCalibur characters to waste slots. I would assume that Rock will be in haha.
I don’t actually play him, but am I alone in wanting Necrid in this game?
EDIT: Taki being in sort of makes Natsu’s implementation redundant…
‘Dev talk?’ I don’t think you’ve seen/heard them all. Taki is in the game, according to the words that came right out of
Tago-san’s mouth. (producer) She’s just not been shown yet.
They should feel strange if you ask me. I like the fact that they’re different and that people have mixed feelings about them. Sometimes they hit a homerun, like with Hilde and Dampierre.
He felt out of place, honestly. I saw him as a guest character á la Link, Spawn and Heihachi.
The only thing I’ve heard about Taki’s inclusion is that she’s in the game, but not as a playable character.
If you have heard something different where they specifically say that she’s in as a playable character (i.e. not a bonus character that uses someone elses style) then by all means point me in the direction of it.
The only thing I could see is that in the story mode they might have created Taki as someone you beat up as Natsu.
But If Taki is in the game then she is probably not playable, or she might be a secret alternate costume for Natsu, they play too similiar for both to be in the game, it would be a waste of space.
Lets just accept Natsu as the new successor.
The speed of SCV is obviously faster than SCIV, but it still looks like SC3 and below are faster when it comes to movement.
But i can’t say for sure now, i’ll wait for the games release
Would find it strange if Taki was playable. Since this game is a generation shift. Traditionally characters that are replaced. Only show up in cut scenes and character endings. Also the replaced character is normally not playable until the following game. But that is only my personal option on this topic.
It is always possible they want to lesson the blow. Of the 17 year shift by keeping some of the replaced characters in game. Or they may be considering DLC support. In the form of classic character packs. Since doing a generation shift this late into a fighting series. Is not easy given how attached people can be to there favorite characters. More so after having played them for so many years.
But we will find out soon enough. Given how close we are to the release date. They will start the reveal the rest of the cast. As well as any other modes and information. Over the next eight weeks or so.
Yeah, Necrid’s weapon had such potential to be really unique and interesting. But the majority of his moveset ended up being borrowed moves, not really sure why.
You’re probably referring to HRD’s video of a very early press release where they simply say that Taki isn’t dead. She’s not necessarily in the game. And she probably won’t be.
They only have 8 slots in the character select screen left, you think they’ll waste one of them on a character that is aesthetically similar (enough) to an existing character?
This reminds me of what was happening last year during the run up to MvC3 where people kept misconstruing everything that folks at Capcom said to mean that so-and-so character was in. Personally, the only time I consider a character “in” is when said character has been shown as playable in game.
Guys dont forget about the side characters we could end up getting which might include taki. on a more interesting note- who else is hoping for an Soul Calibur version of tekken force? I think the mode is more suited to weapon based fighters, an online mode with atleast 3 or 4 players would be a unique way to play fighting games online
