Can someone tell me the timing for Viola’s BnB of 2 A+B -> 2 B+K (BE)? Doesn’t seem to come out properly. Is it immediately after I input A+B or should I wait for about a second?
Yeah, I didn’t think about that. People tend to have at least 1/2 bar at all times. GI is still super effective when players have less than 1/2 bar though; not so much when they have more than that though.
He sounds like a real dick.
I wouldn’t know much, but this might at help:

after going 192w to 45L with yoshi
im fully committing myself to the alpha pat train for now
put yoshi to the side for a sec and see if i can get better with A-pat
its rough especially learning how to move as confident with him as i am with yoshi
and i hate losing to someone that i know i can beat with yoshi
ah well better for the long run hopefully
You know I always found that notion silly because the same people complaining about the lack of single player options won’t be able to beat Daishi’s ghost in Quick play mode. Or Harada, Or Filthie. all of which contribute to unlocking content mind you…and they’ll never get past kilik in legendary souls mode for at least a good three months.
im just really ticked off about the ivy changes.
it and FFXIII-2 (which im loving) are why i haven’t touched it in a while.
Ya, they actually did a really good job with the AI for some of the harder stuff. If all you do is arcade mode on easy, then ya, it’s not going to last you very long…
Control that space between the characters. Shes the best in the game at it. Keep about 1 Astaroth distance between you and poke with her looking for confirms. Shes brutally slow compared to Pyrrah and Natsu ect so try to keep space between you. Her A button attacks are geared for getting people off you or interrupting slower attacks if your in close. She can carry people out of the ring with her charge attacks so keep them in mind. Shes not a huge combo character but her pokes and distance control are her strong points.
thanks, if i’m at about that distance, how do i best stay there? if they come dashing forward should i be moving back? pushing them out with a particular move? how does one maintain that space usually?
I use bison and guile in street fighter, and enjoy controlling space with their movesets, i’m just not sure the best way to do it yet in soul calibur/with Hilde. I usually end up getting sidestepped and then rushed, where i am forced to fall back on mashing back+A.
i would LOVE to see some high level Hilde play, does anyone know any good players who are posting on youtube or anything?
Well the game just came out but if you want some similar semblance of good hilde play
RTD is really good at soul calibur 4 with hilde and asides from doom combo they play close to each
I love RTD’s Hilde. He really knows how to work that pole…spear thing to his advantage XD
You know what sucks about SCV?
Ivy.
Her whip stances are gone. Her SS does shit damage compared to the SS she had back in SC2. She simply does not feel like Ivy. She feels like a butchered, bland, watered down and cheap version of her SC2 self. If Ivy doesn’t have her whip stance or any other kinds of stances involving her whip, Ivy might as well just look like a generic sword wielder in any sword fighting games. I loved Ivy to death back in SC2, I loved her dominatrix attitude, that’s represented by her back throw and her SS, CS. I loved using that Ivy Lick (yes it’s still in the game, but where the fuck’s my 8B+K input?) watching myself slam my enemy down to the ground in an emphatic ‘bitch please not in mah house’ way. I loved using that whip to whip someone with 44B and then whip them again. It seems like all of that, save for the Ivy lick catching people in the air, is gone. This Ivy is just so butchered down. I wanted to play with Ivy so bad and I was hyped when I first heard Ivy was returning to SCV and people said she went back to her SC2 style. Turns out it’s like having fast food compared to gourmet restaurant food.
So there I am maining Nightmare. Thankfully I like evil characters & characters who whiff a big sword, do massive damage and like slamming you down. Otherwise this game would’ve sucked ass for me.
What do you mean by Ivy lick?

Go to 0:56 and look for the move where Ivy brings down Cervantes. That’s the move I’m talking about. Thankfully it’s still in Ivy’s arsenal.
Fuck Mitsurugi. Bitch ass samurai.
Whoa. is that incoming salt I see?
Decided to drop Hilde for a while and try and Ezio for the first time and he’s really solid. Crossbow is a nice tool as well.
Sad to see this game didn’t fall too well in the casual end of things. Even though, I am, a hardcore player, I like lookiing at both side of the picture. After Story Mode, Not much single player content to do so I can see why the casual players might complain./ Seems the main focus was on gameplay and the multi-player experience which is fine I suppose.
There are alot more people than we think that absolutely love the single player experience. Check out MK’s crowd. But it is moreso that SC is known for good single player contents and various modes to play around with.
oh yeah, you better believe it is.
