Trying to find another sub besides yoshi
they definetely made him more soild frame wise
but they took out some of the random factor from 4
including 2 of his stances
and the iron fist possesion which used to use tekken moves based on the clock is now just random
they need to fix the crumble on some of his stun follow ups
its gotta be ether zwei or alpha pat

2-D fighters arcade stick. 3-D fighters pad. Playing 3-D fighters on a stick feels weird and unnatural.

Loving Viola so far, but I can’t help but feel like her damage is godawful for the amount of effort you have to put in. Then Patroklos comes along and does 50% with a three-hit combo into super.

Post T6, perhaps.

Sticks were the way to go, due to cross button presses.

But T6 pretty much eliminated that.

I still prefer stick though.

Seung Mina is in the game. She’s one of the two hidden characters that you have to unlock through Arcade Mode.

You think that bad, Mitsu can do close to 50% with one BE in a combo. The dude hits like a truck

helll, 3b (launch) into super doesn’t do as much damage as 3b 236b BE 1A, which is a full combo,

my favorite combo is

MST B BE, 3B BE, 236 B BE, 1A. It takes 3 meters, and does about 120 or so, but damn is it flashy and fun to pull out. If I can find something else to tack on to spend 2 full bars then I’d do it.

Yeah Viola does no damage at all. Tira moved into alt status while I secretly train Viola in the mountains.

Also arcade stick all the way.

haven’t made an account yet on 8wayrun and only had minimal experience with soul calibure games but the SC5 looks interesting. The only character I liked was Setsuka, how does her move set translate into this game? My first impression was that she was strong punisher character with tricks (or yomi like).

If this is not the case then what character would you recommend for style that allows me to focus on reading my opponent and with some safe attacks.

How is that possible that 1 hit takes away 90 health in the last round of this vid?

Nightmare’s fully charged CE on counterhit, which realistically isn’t going to hit very often.

214 a leads to guarantee door knocker which he managed to hit with alot plus alot of unnecessary 4 kb too charged up

you landed on the right character
shes got good punisher such as 44 b+k which is really safe of course the standard aa
33 b is good too
1b just frame is really good to use in the neutral game as well
lot of fast moves that when used methodically make the opponent wary of attacking

her only weakness is a lack of good lows to make the opponent crouch more often
aside from 2 k
most of them are easy to read on reaction and very situational

Whoever came up with those “leaked” storymode spoilers must’ve taken them straight from Gamefaqs anus. I WISH the story was as interesting. Also, there are no endings in Arcade mode, which made me wonder why they even made a timeskip anyway since nobody has any story besides Pat and Pyrrha. /shrug

On another note, to get Algol you must be at least level 12 in player level and win 3 matches in a row. Then search Europe on Intermediate setting, look for a player called TERAMOS and beat him. I actually didn’t encounter Algol til I was level 13. Teramos is a C5 character, so he’s not that hard to beat.

I am liking the new Ivy. She has no stances, but still has most of her trademark moves, and the good news is that you can pull them out at anytime. I think she is a good character for beginners to start with, since she is pretty simplified and her damage is decent, but not great. Also, i like that 66B is a mid now. I wish 44B was faster because it looks cool as hell. As usual, Ivy’s flashier moves are suicide.

I hear how this soul calibure game made significant changes from its past games. I use to play soul claibure 4 but I eventually left it as I had hard time playing it. Certain tactics where extremly limited or other were extremely strong. How ever it looks like this game may have the ability to tame it self well.

I’m usually defensive player and developed my strategy around uses of defensive tricks.( for example Instant block/ Just defend, Fautless defense/Barrier, crossover counter/guard cancel)

Thanks for the information, Spooty was trying to help me. Going to do this later and then play Algol until the QQ’ing gets him maybe banned after two days of play.
