Ahh, so ya’ll feel my pain then, lol…such a waste.
It was similar when SCIV came out. People are in the lab trying stuff. They will post when they have something useful.
Natsu is pretty godlike. Found my new main, I’m sure she will get nerfed after people start complaining about her.
I’ll still play her though. Viola on the other had is cool but fuck she is a lot of work. Both are great fun, my Viola won’t be ready for world for a while though.
Yeah. He is like a mix of Lizardman and Kratos.
I dunno, I’m not gonna sleep on Aeon yet. He still seems to have decent basics and some good annoyance tactics. But maybe that’s just because AlexJ (one of the better NorCal players) has strong enough fundamentals to make Aeon frustrating to play against.
Really liking Maxi in this game, so far, even though I hear he got a slight nerf in the day one patch. Down for some games later tonight, if y’all wanna play on XBL. GT is Goddamn56kModem. West coast is preferred, but I’ll try coast to coast.
I don’t really play any other character but Raphael, but anyone else feel that they change around the moves alot since SCII? Lol, I feel like I have to relearn the character every game… it honestly feels like Namco took the guys moveset and randomizes the inputs in every iteration.
He also feels kinda…plain so far. I’ll have to look for some comboes cuz I can’t do jack with Raphael and his hat anymore…
it’s pretty sad that DJ isn’t tourney legal. I love how he plays.

Tell me about that. I can’t tell if this game came out last month or is still going to come out… Not enough buzz around.
I think alot of it has to do with the hardcore base not liking 3-D fighters as much.
Good to hear good netcode. I pick up this game as soon as I pick up my PS3 again lol.
haven’t picked up sc5 yet, but i got a two CaS questions:
can you customize nightmare’s arm like you could in SC4?
second question:
Spoiler
can you customize Omega’s arm too?
I unlocked Kilik just by hitting level 9, I think they are tied to that as well. Longer process for sure but safe, I hadn’t even seen Quick Match mode when browsing before lol.
For the first question, no. Nightmare (and Yoshimitsu actually) both start with some equipment. Yoshi has his wooden arm and is completely covered in bandages (which doesn’t seem to count as an undergarment), and you can’t change his arm equipment at all. Nightmare basically starts you with Graf Dumas. He has his weird little mask, his Nightmare arm, armor on the other arm, and chest armor. His face, upper body, upper body covering, arm, and shoulder equipment cannot be changed. It’s really lame in my opinion. It is possible that I haven’t unlocked the option to change their arms, but since the category is unselectable, I really doubt it.
As for your second question
Spoiler
When you’re making a new costume for Omega, she doesn’t have the Nightmare arm. She doesn’t appear to have the option to have the Nightmare arm (unless it’s locked, which I still doubt), but she can equip any other arm equipment. So at least she’s not as gimped as Yoshi and Nightmare.
Anybody have any idea on what player level gets Algol? I can’t seem to get him to appear in quick match, and I’ll go throw my controller through my TV if Kilik perfects me again.
I played sc4 and sc3 a little but not competitively and just wondered if theres any characters with good mix ups in this game I usually play 2d fighters and love characters with good oki, resets and mixups so im just wondering if theres any characters like that then I might pick it up
Dunno if its just me but does it seem like the characters with long swords and staffs have no punishable moves for those with short range? I can’t ever seem to get in while they’re swinging around because they swing in 180-360 degree motions. Gotta play this more and figure out if they have a weakness.
Try mitsurugi in arcade. They are ‘destined’ to battle after all.
I was about to come ask about this, or more importantly why blocking seems pointless. I’ve never really tried to play a SC seriously until this one and it seems people online (and even the computer) are just mashing to out prioritize and that’s the end of me or I get grabbed (which is fine makes sense on the grab part). People seem to rarely block my stuff, they just eat it and hope for the next opening (Petrokolos, Ezio, and Natsu especially). I’m willing to chalk it up to me just being too green at the game and the mechanics but I’m extremely puzzled.
im getting mad points not even trying, im getting them as i type this.
I picked nightmare and set my fight stick to turbo and put a pack of smokes over the Y button.
SMASH SMASH, SMASH SMASH, SMASH SMASH! more points for me.
is there a better way to get points? maybe a less lazy way? but faster.
btw its on easy and i havent fully tested it out yet… i don’t know if my barrage of Y’s can take down nightmare himself.
It might be because the gameplay seems much faster than before. I know in SC 2 3 and 4 I always did decently with short ranged characters, Talim was my main. Mainly because the big dudes swung slow and left themselves open (which should be the offset of using someone with long range and power). Here Nightmare, Seigfreid, and Killik wannabe all seem to be super fast, super strong, and can’t be punished. Again I haven’t played seriously since 2 so I don’t even know why I can’t block these fucks anymore. Frustrating but it is only week 1.
Yeah I’m pretty much taking that mindset as well “still early, still learning” but it does seem crazy. I can’t seem to punish or get people out of my face at all, either they’re too fast or their reach is incredible.
Also I’m sure this was talked about already but what the hell is up with the lips in this game, they look ridiculous on all females
Whats wrong with the two new characters? Prryha and Patroklos? are they lame or something?
