You know thats something that has completely slipped my mind…
That’s a really good question, wow…

GI are universal, in that they GI High/Mid/Low. Yea I know, simplified, but it costs meter, so it balances out one way or another.
Since I wouldnt past up the chance to bust your fuckin bubble I just won a Tekken 6 tournament recently in somewhere thats none of your business, but I used to be a Soul Calibur 2 tournament player. I’m more of a gatherings kinda guy, but hey.
Anyways. This isnt about making myself credible, how I play has nothing to do with anything.
Theres nothing wrong with trying something. Acting like the Soul Calibur community should be able to set the rules and make all kinda of preemptive decisions is just funny given their track record because the community is at constant bickering and argusing and disfunction, so they could stand to be a little more open to change. Its not like Joe Blow offered to run a DJ tournament, Dr. Dogg is doing it, so you KNOW its going to be clean and organized, so why the fuck is everyone crying so hard?
Oh wait…I forgot already who we are talking about here. Theres a discussion on the 8wayrun forums about why frame data isnt necessary because you can just “experiement in practice mode and find out whats unsafe.”
ROTFL. I give up.
Shes more like her mother, but she has the “playfulness” of Cassandra.
Shes actually a little more clumsy and depressed, but you get the picture.
What about Just Guard (or whatever it’s called)?
Frame data isn’t “necessary”.
Ok, since no one has posted it yet, here’s video of the US SCV Pre-Launch event which was streamed and archived by Gamespot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature…&v=2RlzDsEXCzU
There’s about a billion equally retarded discussions going on on SRK, TZ and DL at any given moment. Not sure what your point is.
Thanks, every new video is appreciated
The point is on Tekkenzaibatsu, SRK and Dustloop you can find some talk somewhere about meta-game and strategy. Through all the trolling you can learn something.
And on 8wayrun theres a whole lot of topics about Story mode, mimic characters and DLC. Thats my point. There is no focus. The game isnt out yet, but there isnt even any in depth discussion on the hours of pre-release footage. Other than how Natsu’s hair look in her 2p is way better than her 1p. Or that Ivy’s titties are too big. Or that Pyhrra shouldnt be wearing a thorn crown like Jesus Christ. Or that Tira’s american voice actor doesnt sound as good as in SCIV. And that scares me. SC community is already small in comparison to other communities, and yet they have an extremely large casual fanbase that just pummels the forums day after day with their casual scrubby bullshit. They are a big part of the problem.
Arguments over “throwing too much” and how some players only use throws against female characters. Its just too much.
Through reading a few posts from one of the Admin I gathered that the inclusion of Kilik and Sophitia might have moreso been a fan catering the same way the Megaman DLC costume for Zero was after the constant cries. Casuals ruin everything.
The topic about Kilik and Sophitia “gameplay” is 815 pages long.
The topic about preliminary tier talk ie: formatting like how Dustloop did the BlazBlue tiers…a whopping 4 replies.
Or maybe you’re not looking in the right place:

You’re missing the point. Theres talk about strategy in the character specific forums and the character specific forums only, and very little.
I was expecting more I guess. I expect too much I guess. The 2p costumes are like the greatest thing ever.
There wasn’t exactly a huge amount of character discussion there for SC4, either.
I remember going there, after the advent of 4, expecting something along the lines of a rebirth of the old Guard Impact SC 1 &2 character forums.
After months, there were what - 20 posts in some of the threads?
Even tier discussions were nonexistent.
Sent from reality, using LolWtfIsThisShitTalk.
The beginning of SC4 was a mess. Caliburforum’s infrastructure was falling apart and 8WR was founded a few weeks (or a month) after the game was released. But this is really going off topic here.
Well the idea of 8way was a great idea because IIRC Namco was taking more control over SoulCalibur.com and it started getting noobish over there so everyone went to 8wayrun because it was supposed to be the new GuardImpact.com
eh.
I know myself, KingAce and a few other tried to keep the Zasalamel forums interesting. I cant speak for the other forums, but for all the in-depth discussion you TRY and provide, they just dont give a shit.
Which is why I need SRK to support this game so I have people to talk to about it.
There’s a whole section devoted to metagame/strategy. If there’s something you want to talk about, start posting.
Also the character forums that you see now are newly created for SCV, so there’s not much in them since people don’t have the game yet. The older ones aren’t as visible unless you actually look but there’s more in them.

But in general, most people use the chatroom to discuss strats.
That’s not true because there was plenty of discussion and arguing over tiers early on in the game and plenty of arguing over what France thought about tiers and matchups.
I’m keeping optimistic. We will see next week wont we!
You’re finding fault with the fact that players aren’t drawing assumptions based on how the game looks and seems to play. Yes, sure, maybe people here analyzed the hell out of SFIV pre-release stuff, and started theorycrafting when 2012 patch notes were released, but just because 8WR is reserving comment doesn’t mean it’s a bad place. If the game had been out for six months and there was nothing I could understand why you’re upset, but people aren’t drawing assumptions based on what they see. You are finding fault with that. Am I misunderstanding something?
People say Americans are stupid, don’t give weight to the stereotype please :shake:
The only I’m holding on to now in regards of buying this or not is the character customization. If CC characters are allowed in tournaments then I’ll finally have a character I want to play with since Kilik is now a half Edge Master for no reason, Sophitia’s been scrapped, and Setsuka’s gone. I do wonder though if this game will have the same issue as T6 where only player 1 can use their customized character. Namco should know not to make that mistake this time.
