Kilik is a mimic only for the male characters movesets.
What kind of bullshit is that? and I was looking forward to him. Why just turn him into a half Olcadan/Edge Master?
My bad. It’s been a little hard to get/keep things straight going to different sites to read about this game. Different shit popping up everywhere. So, just 3 mimics, with Edge Master doing all characters. Kilik = all males, O. Pyrra = all women, and the alt Patroklos = …just Setsuka, or is Talim also in there somewhere?
Elysium is the all women mimic. O. Pyrrha is supposed to play like Sophitia from what I heard.
O Pyhrra is Sophie + Cass, Elyssium is the female mimic. People are speculating Elyssium is Sophie
Dr. Dogg and a few other tournament organizers are allowing Devil Jin in tournaments. So eat it.
So, thats a big fuck you to the pigheaded NEW Soul Calibur community. Hence the intense anger and frustration towards other communities that arent on life support.
Stay free SC.
Why people feel the need to try and rile up other people by acting immature is something I’ll never understand.
But if these news are music to your ears, then good for you.
Hopefully they are allowed at Final Round
This is kinda off topic but umm, has namco ever given a statement as to why they took out soul charge?
The only thing that really matters is what EVO allows, since the majority of games uses EVO ruleset, there were some exceptions when communities used their own ruleset like the Smash kids, but 9 times out of 10 people follow EVO’s lead.
And I see there is more confusion for the mimics and kilik.
Xiba= new staff user, has moves from Mina and Kilik and new ones
Kilik= male mimic
Sophitia= female mimic, she is called Elysium
Edgemaster= mimics all forms from both genders.
3 mimics total, Xiba replaces Kilik, if you want the staff style use Xiba.
DJ is definitely not allowed for Winter Brawl since they are following 8wayrun rules. You would think that he wouldn’t be allowed for Final Round too since they are trying to tie Winter Brawl as a warm up to Final Round.
The western audience is the larger market for SC and has been for the longest time. If more people played in Japan, they’d have a leg to stand on.
Have you even been to a tournament?
Most sane people don’t have a problem with DJ being banned and understand why. But the thing is that the ruleset hasn’t changed as custom characters have always been banned in tournament. Now people who either don’t go to tournaments, don’t fully understand the situation, or are just looking for something to complain about are making it an issue.
I’m not worried because most TOs will use the rules that we have on the site.
When SC was at EVO in 2009, they used the ruleset that the community was using, so I expect them to do the same for this year as well.
But I really don’t understand why people who don’t go to tournaments have a beef with or care what the rules are unless they are just out to start e-drama. There’s a disclaimer at the top of the page for a reason, so people/TOs can simply choose if they want to follow it or not. It’s not like the rule police are going to come after people if they don’t, but normally tournaments that go against what the community is doing don’t last long.
http://8wayrun.com/wiki/tournament-ruleset/
Since the SCV tournament at Winter Brawl is ran by the actual community, it will use whatever the current ruleset happens to be.
I heard there might be a nice DJin-related announcement on 8WR this weekend, so we’ll see.
Well then people making these kind of decisions is what causes problems in the first place. It is nonsense and selfish how people make decisions like these, not giving a damn about the SC scene. I hope Dr. Dogg and these other organizers drop the stupid idea, or else we get some more pointless drama to hinder the already hindered SC scene.
And for those who were asking me about what the game is missing, well, certain gameplay mechanics like Just Ukemi not being in the game because there wasn’t enough tine to balance it. No museum mode, weapon demonstrations etc…just a general lack of content that adds up. I mean single player stuff isn’t that important, but when you put it together it doesn’t exactly help. The game was rushed, we know it…thus the lack of content.
But, SCV is still good enough and they did great for what limited time they had. I’m playing the game, so to all the melodramatic diva’s, calm the heck down. People whining about people whining makes it even worse. By complaining about people’s complaints in such a melodramatic/exaggerated manner, you bring more light to the very same issue you want to quash, and make it a bigger deal than it is. Just keep quiet and it will die down.
You guys drive me Bonkers. Ukemi is still in the game people. SEEE. NON STOP BS. And since there isn’t anyone like me to come in to say anything most of the time, its gets accepted as TRUTH!! Please people…
Can we open a Soul Calibur Sub-Forum. I will mod and I promise to be nice. The reason SC has a bad name on this site is because of ALL THE NONSENSE that gets spewed out. People really don’t know what they’re talking about.

Who does she resemble more her aunt or mother? I’m not familiar with the character.

Dude, learn to read…I said JUST Ukemi. Ukemi is in the game but Just Ukemi isn’t. If you would calm down for a second you wouldn’t have missed that.
Can someone accurately tell us what they’re complaining about in that japanese site imageboard thing?
Soul Calibur 1/2 had the best designs/costumes/anatomy.
They’re trying to make barriers to high level play a lot less complicated. So removing Just Ukemi is justified. It was a needless execution barrier to high level play. While it was kinda neat, in retrospect all it did was create seperate categories of players of “people who can JU consistently” and “people who can’t”. And depending on which you’re playing you’d adjust what combos you’d use to maximise damage.
Well, they just said in the video that it wasn’t in the game because they didn’t have time to balance it.
I don’t think it’s a needless execution barrier; I think it’s there for a reason, and hard for a reason…not just for the sake of it and the sole intention of alienating players. It helped you deal with characters that had certain moves that were problematic/abusable (i.e characters like Mitsu and Amy in SCIV, I forget the exact notation of the moves I’m thinking of but you probably know). Outside of that JU was hardly utilized, but at least it was there to make things easier with a little effort.
Plus, you could argue that with JU gone, newer or more casual players will have an even harder time against abusable moves. Either way, it could be balanced so it was only an offset to certain abusable 2in1’s/3in1’s etc and not standard combos. SCV has gone more offensive, and at the same time defensive options have been toned down somewhat.
I don’t know much so this is just my opinion on it; I’m not gonna support it like it’s fact or with dedication. I just remember how people used to say the same thing about FRC’s in GG; because that is a game I play and I knew that people saying the same thing about FRC’s was just a straight misinterpretation.
Edit: Also, a question for anyone who knows…have low GI’s been taken out of SCV or are they still in the game? Also, can you perform low Just Guard’s?
