Wow, a lot of interesting things in there if they are actually true.
Hmmm… FIVE pay to play characters, huh?
I love the smell of DLC in the morning.
There is nothing quite like greed to fuck up a good thing.
Stay free, apologists - the DLC characters sure as fuck won’t be.
$60 + $5~8 per DLC character = $85~$100 for the whole game.
Gtfo out of here, with this shit, Namco.
DLC characters: fucking up communities, one fighting game at a time.
Sent from reality, using LolWtfIsThisShitTalk.
The MK9 community banned a lot of things too, so I have a hard time seeing why a “bigger community” will mean Devil Jin wouldn’t be banned.
That story spoiler above actually makes the story sound . . . compelling. We will see if it is true tho. I am curious to see why Pyrhha becomes evil.
Well between the release in the Spring and Evo DLC characters were banned for obvious reasons.
What else was banned?
None the less, theres no opposition to banning anything broken. There is a problem with being senseless. Like banning Devil Jin CAS before the games even released. SC community does a lot of stupid shit.
I’ve talked to a few “well known” old school players and they just cant be bothered to troll around 8wayrun anymore. Its like a fight within the community and at the same time trying to get other communities hype about the game.
I feel like V is going to die a swift death too. Hope Im wrong.
There is nothing wrong with DLC, so long as it’s done right and the price is right.
Can you at least try to act more mature? Or do you just want to pick a fight?
And just so you know, DLC characters are appriciated, especially in japan.
Another thing that is made clear is that you don’t have a proper understanding of how the world works when it comes to game development.
Games have deadlines and budgets. Things get cut or don’t make it in, things might not get the level of polish that was needed, etc.
If they had a half-finished Talim but didn’t have the time or money to get her into the game for the release of the game, she would obviously be cut. If fans however really wanted Talim, the team might be called back to finish making her, but doing so costs money (especially if they’re called back after the game was done).
If you were say a Talim main and she would be avaliable for DLC, you would not be happy (I’m guessing). Why? “Because she should’ve been in the game in the first place”, right?
Such pessimism and ungratefulness.
You now naturally assume they’re out to steal your money so they purposely cut out content to resell to the community, right? You need to realize that your assumptions and speculations are not facts and that all DLC is not evil.
You seem to have a passionate hate for a great many things, it seems, which is a shame.
Now just so you know, not all DLC is good DLC. But the door swings both ways, not all DLC is bad DLC either.
Why do you keep adding this? It’d be easier if you just sigged it.
Banning Devil Jin CAS before the game is released is no less senseless or stupid than all the talk about banning gems in SFxT the moment they were announced. ldleMind has already explained why banning Devil Jin makes sense, and I fail to see why it’s going to cause V to die a swift death.
The thing is talking of banning gems is still very stupid
No one is really worried about Devil Jin being broken. The argument against allowing DJ is one of logistics, for the most part. The instant Project Soul creates a standard Devil Jin character that doesn’t have to be made in CAS mode and checked for the right parameters, he will be allowed in tournament play.
Also, SC3 and SC4 (the latter of which actually did get halfway decent attendance at recent majors) petered out mostly because of a widespread belief that they were broken or horribly unbalanced, which in all fairness, was understandable. The community sure didn’t help matters, though.
Well if they are gonna do DLC chracters I suppose this is the correct way to do it, sell the characters people actually want(not shuma-gorath and jill valentine). I know ill prolly pay top dollar for talim DLC.
Now I know why SRKers don’t play Soul Calibur. They are SERIOUSLY dumb asFUCK!!.

SC3 did not die after 6 months. We ran OUR OWN NATIONALS with regionals. WE continued to have our games played at Majors, with about 30-50 people joining, depending where it was. AE release helped the game get more play time, and build hype for SC4.
-
SC4 did not die a little over 6 months you dumb fucks. There was EVO, there was Cannes France World Battle. There were tourneys AFTER BANS which kept the community alive. There was 60+ Round Robin Iron Tourney. As well as 60+ Tourneys for DEV, CEO, NEC, etc. Yea SF and MVC get 100+ but our game hasn’t been out for 25 Fucking Years. AND WE STILL GO STRONG!

As soon as SC5 was announced, 8WR got swarmed with new casual players, who know how to sign in a use a keyboard. These are the people cliaming to boycott the game, complaining about Story and Costumes and all that shit. Not the true COMPETITIVE COmmunity of 8WR. So you dumb Fucks Grah Grah and whoeevr else is talking out therir ass, get your facts straight.
The fact of the matteter is ,this will be a great game, NAMCO ALWAYS FUCKS WITH SOUL CAL, but we’re used to it by now. Everyone else is just complaining because thats what they’ve been TRAINED to do on the internets. This game will stay Alive well after Evo. With $1000 and $5000 Pots, its hard to see people NOT PLAYING THIS GAME.
Dumb Fucking SRKers. Ya’ll are SO FUCKING DUMB. No wonder you guys play brain dead boring games and just copy what you see other people do. Talk about Sheep.
Calm the shit down, Dinoz. Goddamn…
So any word on when jaxel is gonna start streaming sc 5? Im really looking forward to seeing jaxel stream a game he is so passionate about(and knows shit about, cause God knows I tire of hearing him talk shit about games he doesn’t know much about). I recall him saying something about having a 2nd stream day for sc 5 and cross tekken, thats an idea I can get behind.
What a great rep for 8WayRun.
He has a point though, to often we got people here saying some of the stupidest shit about scenes they have zero knowledge of.
I’ve heard some people say that the (dis)advantage on block/hit for a lot of moves in SC5 seems a lot different than in SC4. Is this just based isolated things, or does it seem pretty true so far and in what manner?
Cute how none of these people talk about anything but rosters. Most of your hype was based on the last 3 characters in the roster? Really? The roster is more important than actually being a good game? Whatever happened to be excited that this game is (according to players) quite improved over SC4, which had a pretty bad reputation? Cry more.
You know, this pretty much just confirms what kind of player you are. Anyone bitching about the "total price’ of a fighting game being more than $60 is hilarious. The value on these games dwarfs the cost so much more than basically any other form of entertainment. You easily get hundreds of satisfying hours a year from a good fighter if you play “competitively”. But I guess you’re one of those guys who just plays for a month and then stops.
Also, guess what: While the prices for console game have been about the same for years, the development costs have gone up a ton. DLC is a natural response to these pressures. Obviously there is such a thing as bad dlc that hurts the game itself, and overpriced dlc, but this isn’t some black and white corporate greed sort of thing.
Is Namco taking down gameplay-only footage of SC5 that early purchasers are uploading? If not, I should have some match videos up on youtube some time this week.
Not streaming until Jan 31st after midnight, to keep in line with twitch.tv’s rules
All content will be match videos. None of the casual stuff.

The only thing I’ve seen taken down is story mode footage.
