Yep, I predict confirmation within the week, when I get my copy of the mag.
Legal Talim pls. ;_;
3 new characters?
And I see 2 girls and a guy?
too good to be true
Im going to quote every single one of you when in the next week or so its everywhere on ign and gamespot. Just waitâŚ
1-you cant trust anything Ign and Gamespot say anyway
2-youâre actually going to hold it against us that SC3 with all this âinnovationâ is true, so close to April Fool?
Damn, I cant be bothered to read the whole thread, but if SC3 comes out I would like to see it on the xb with online playâŚOne can only wish
im thinking april fools joke but hopefully not.
Is the same thing that people said when IGN was the first source to say that Link was in SCII. Everyone on here said that they were lying.
But its not even on IGN anyway, so oh well. I donât think I want to believe itâll be PS2 exclusive.
If this news turns out true feel free to quote me. Iâve already covered myself with the quote below. I didnât start posting on the net yesterday. :badboy:
Itâs not our fault if we are skeptical. Blame the magazine industry for all of their April Foolsâ jokes. Blame everybody who has ever made a fake screenshot online(and these people need to die). While I may seem like I am âantiâ this news all I am seeking is the truth. Thatâs it.
Riskbreaker from MMCAFE Posted: âFamitsu this week confirms that Soul Calibur 3 is PS2 exclusive (According to an OPM writer).â
Still no word on hoop lady yet.
I just got the mag in the mail and its in the sneak peak section or some shit. I think its real. Why is it so hard to believe anyway?
Itâs a little hard to believe because when the previous game sold very well on all 3 consoles, âPS2 onlyâ seems to defy all logic. Another reason is there is no one else reporting this at all, yet Gamepro gets exclusive info? I know itâs gonna sound weird but sometimes you canât just believe what you see. Iâve seen Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Shen Long in Street Fighter 2. All of which looked just as real as this does so forgive us for being a little skeptical here.
its better to be skeptical
if youâre right: then youâre right
if youâre wrong: youâre wrong, but thereâs the good news of it being made
i donât care if the article is real or not. gamepro is a garbage ass magazine. how the hell can âeveryone agree that sc2 was a disappointmentâ?
they can go to hell. go to hell and rot.
I thought we explained all of this already.
Game sold well on all platforms everywhere BUT Japan, where the PS2 version had the most sales, and with Namco being a Japanese company and caring more about their main target market rather than the overseas markets.
Certain publications get exclusivity on news all the time, and itâs not like the news of SC3 was a shock, we already knew the game was coming anyway as Arcadia already confirmed the news long ago. Itâs just that GamePro was able to get the first screenshots of the game, itâs no different from EGM getting the first screenshots of SFA1 or Famitsu getting info and pics on The Godfather or IGN breaking the story on the SC2 console exclusive characters.
A lot of you still seem to forget that Namco throughout their history, has always favoured Sony the most. Just because SC2 came out on all platforms doesnât mean that every other game in the series afterwards will be multiplatform. R: Racing Evolution (the bastard stepchild of Ridge Racer) was multiplatform, but does that mean that the entire Ridge Racer series from then on will be multiplatform? Or what about Onimusha or MGS, there were Xbox ports of Onimusha 1 and MGS2, but did that mean there would be multiplatform releases for any of the later games? No, these are just business decisions plain and simple, and no donât give me that whole âoh but SC1 was on DC and never on a Sony platformâ crap. Namco only remade the game from the ground up for DC, because the original arcade version ran on a suped-up PS1 arcade board (that also ran Time Crisis 2 and TTT, also itâs amazing how many people forget how the ORIGINAL ARCADE version of Soul Calibur looked like, looks like many of you just played it on the DC only) that couldnât be done on PS1 and PS2 was like a year or two away from release (DC came out in Japan in 1998, 1999 for US, whereas the PS2 came out in 2000 everywhere). Thus the DC was only the viable alternative for SC1, since releasing SC1 for the PS2 in 2000 would be a little odd considering that they were probably already in development with SC2 by that time, and SC1 did come out in 98.
But seriously, the game being a PS2 or Sony exclusive in general shouldnât be a surprise to anyone, SC2 being a multiplatform game was a surprise, this isnât.
Yeah, SC3 being PS2 is a surprise but more of a disappointment. I still got to say that one close up image of a suposedly new character looks a bit fake to me.
Still a lot of people are reporting that GamePro stated this news meaning that most donât have the exact truth yet. Got to wonder though if it does have a character creation system or if it is supposed to be a character edit like T5 but you get to choose your weapons as well?
Namco would sell more copies if SC3 is multiplatform. SC3 just being on on PS2 (if this is true) would probably be Sony giving Namco some kickback for it being just on PS2. Yea, namco could have fell in love with sony all over againm but, ehe.
Namco servicing their main target audience? Their main target audience is the region that it sells more copies to. Service who gives you the most sales.
Plus, I want SC3 for Xbox, and Live!!! :encore:
Eh, Iâd bet that this is a fake that has nothing to do with Gamepro. I, for one, havenât seen this new gamepro on shelves.
Personally, I think every person saying âI have the issue right here!!!11â is full of shit. This is an elaborate April Fools joke, that Iâm sure has nothing to do with Gamepro.
The current issue featured on Gamepro.com is the April issue, not the May issue.
Fake, fake, fake. The terrible writing gives it away.
I donât like SC, but itâs funny that all the box owners are gonna get shafted, like the people that got a gamecube just for RE4.
Sonys got the weight.
