Immediately as soon as the slash hits is when I do it. I use “R” because pressing B+C is a fricken pain and the timing for the button presses are so dam strict that if you slack off even a little it registers as B,C rather than B+C. Anyway, Baroque right after that so you can follow up with :snkb: or sometimes :snka: to whatever combo you like.

Is it something like buy the costume with points? I didn’t know you could even buy more color options lol.

issen -> baroque after 623 super is kinda neat but…

doesn’t just plain A B C 6C -> issen -> 236 super do more damage without baroque (assuming 10% red life)?

Well if you do the combos I was doing after Baroque it does more damage than just Issen to the :qcf: special. Not only that but it gives you a good chance to use a lot of red life to do a lot of damage or to switch out for free with an aerial rave. I usually do it to a v. aerial rave if I need to switch. Even if I don’t switch it does a lot more damage than just the :qcf: special by itself. The combo that I did in the first vid doesn’t really prove this cuz I transformed. When I get the full combo though it does way more damage, and that’s with minimum red life tested in training mode.

i just tested it, and yeah its a good deal more damage. like the 236 super combo does about 19000, and you can get 25000 with the 623 super plus baroque

only reason i brought up that point was that the combo you do in the video added up to like 17000

add in a ryu assist and you can get close to 30k. pretty neat

i still think soki is pretty bad though. he might get better if you rely on assist+air dash over cross ups to land hits, but otherwise its hard to hit anybody that’s playing defensive

yeah, but his damage make it worth it.
the throw range is pretty bad in this game so you can’t really do that.
if someone is playing like that, I usually switch characters to deal with it.

what can soki really do against Karas?
Fubar was beating me pretty bad, but Soki’s super armor moves were getting me by only cause he was being really aggressive.

Dont know if its found, or even really very usefull, but for 4 meters, Soki can chain>level 1 dp super (call duo), recover then lvl 3 dp super with (Megaman, Dude with the drill, the dude with the red beams that come out his eyes, and roll) all in the corner, with an honorable mention to roll allowing a level 2 anywhere on the screen. Sorry for not knowing the tatsu characters names, 2nd day having gotten to play and I have no history with tatsunoko.

Sounds interesting but I don’t play Megaman lol. Nice to know though, I’d like to see a vid of this. I’m trying to learn all I can about Souki and I would love to know any lvl 2 or lv.3 DP super setups if you guys have any.

I found with the Karas / Soki team you can do a combo into oni magic for the wall bounce, then once they’re far enough away, DHC into karas’s 236 super, does really good damage.

Also I was hating on soki before because all his specials were unsafe but really you can just cover any blocked head splitters with an assist, especially karas’s since it comes out so fast, so he’s not so unsafe really. His damage is good, he has good range. He’s not bad at all.

623A series of moves can be comboed into oni magic into karas super as well.

Best partners IMO are Karas and Ryu.

Oh also in oni mode, ending strings in 6C soul absorb throw when they turtle up works pretty well.

And one more thing. Don’t use the counter. It actually has pretty bad start up time in regards to doing it on reaction to IADs and what not. The counter definitely isn’t active for a couple of frames on start up. Pretty much a useless move. A head splitter serves the same purpose but better in almost all situations.

100% on Ryu BEFORE the OTG. OTG is just for shits and giggles. And characters with more health.

More combos: Head splitter > delay karas assist > dash forward 5B 5C 3C etc etc

Ummm actually the counter is amazing for ending combos with. The way I use it is after a blocked combo string I will do the counter at the end, most of the time the opponent tries to attack as soon as possible and if they do they get countered + Issen (I spam B+C throughout the animation). Even if the counter fails and the opponent doesn’t exactly fall for it I can usually pull out Karas to cover the recovery on the move. It’s pretty foolproof when done right. But to each his own, everyone has their different playstyles.

Since you seem to be interested in Souki/Karas team, I learned that you can lvl 3 with Karas from Souki’s :qcf: special. Play in training mode a bit and you’ll see what I mean. And yah it’s funny because I actually knew about resetting Karas’ :qcf: special with Oni Magic ^_^. I was messing around with it yesterday

Ehh counter is still open to lows and since everyone I play with starts offense with dashing 2A after they block something unsafe, I have better luck with head splitter. Better damage off that too. I guess it’s a matter of what the opponent likes to do. It is pretty good vs Tekkaman j.C cross up shit though, very easy to counter.

One cool thing with Karas / Soki is if you have karas out, you can do his charge move then 236B (return to neutral) assist and then 46B as fast as possible. If done right, soki will cross them up as karas goes through them, and soki’s assist is the perfect timing so that if they do block, he just pushes them into karas and you can start pressure again.

Also Soki’s j.236P is one of the better j.236Ps. I think he’s the only character that uses their j.B animation instead of j.C. You can do that and then as they block your partner can come in and get an overhead as they fly in, or just do nothing and throw when you land.
