pc is great for the followi g reasons.
once you buy the core components, you can upgrade as you want or keep running at your current level which is usually better than console.
its cheaper in the long run
game consoles are more and more pc integrated. every xbone game/demo/video on e3 ran on a pc. Forza 5 ran on a pc and is why forza 5 looks like shit compared to e3 footage. crysis 3 looks better than anything on ps4 @ max settings.
my 1200 $ pc will outperform this new generation and I had it a year before this current gen, and will keep up with the next generation if there’s any. its near future proof. and that’s a steal, because it also men’s I can run heavy non gaminv programs with ease as well. pc is just too versatile.
the options, ease of swtchi g from system emulators or options, non gaming applications, and long term costs, and reliability, outweigh those of console by a long shot.

all fighting games evolve nto preset fighters. due to the inescapable aspect and singular goal of fighting games. optimization of everything and every situation becomes king. mvc2, mvc3…doesn’t matter how you touch em, do a simple moddifier that eventually leads to the optimized combo and leaves the opponent in the optimal position. SF4 is the same, KOF is the same. it all boils down to fuckinv preset combos that are demed optimzed, and any variation within that sequence is simply for flair to taunt the opponent and startle him mentally.

This sounds like “I want it to be true so it is true”. The company is bleeding money every which way, beleaguered in basically every field of business they engage in except financing in East Asia. They’re not selling TVs or the like. They’re selling hideously expensive luxury entertainment machines with a razor and blades model, except that people don’t actually need to constantly buy razors for their Playstations or pay for online. Other than a few console exclusives like halo and last of us, the PC has pretty much every single worthwhile game ported over (Although the quality of said port can sometimes be…shit). Then throw in the huge amount of games not available on any other device, the ability to mod most games, the fact that the games run at a better FPS and higher res aaaaaaand the fact that all games are considerably cheaper…and PC looks like a damn lot better.

If Sony goes bankrupt a lot of developers will either join Microsoft, Nintendo or various PC publishers and phone or portable gaming devices.

Microsoft and Nintendo have a bad monopoly history and I fear what will happen were they to become dominant again.
Nintendo in the 80s dominated 92 % of the US market that way with an iron fist, barring developers from publishing for other platforms.
Microsoft did the same with Windows.
Sega, despite a breath of fresh change with the MegaDrive and Sonic, tried later to pull the same shit as Nintendo when they became #1. So it was not surprise a lot of 3rd party developers jumped to Sony.
Sony so far tried to avoid the mistakes of Nintendo and Sega and keep the #1 spot but nothing is destined to last forever.
If they cant keep up with the times they have to either adapt or step down, like Sega did.
It’s like some of you guys forgot how Sony fired 10,000 people or so and closed down some factories as part of their “restructuring plan” to not go belly up last year.
PS4 might be doing well right now, but other parts of Sony aren’t, and the Vita is doing worse than the Wii U.
I highly doubt this is accurate simply because the PS4 is probably going to do extremely well (well, better than it’s already doing) once more games start coming out. MGSV, God of War, a new LBP, inFamous…any number of those are console sellers to a lot of people. That’s not even including all the other incredible exclusives Sony has under their belt, which inevitably there will be sequels to as well. (Praying for a next-gen 3D Dot Game Heroes)
Also, they’re probably getting a lot more revenue from PS+ now that it’s required for online play.

Sony’s financial woe’s can definitely be tied to their games division, possibly as far back as 2004~5 as soon as Kutaragi had R&D (Research and Development for the layman) invested heavily in the “Cell” processor and Blu-Ray.
The Cell was world’s different compared to the already complex “Emotion Engine” for PS2 or the simplicity of the PS1. Some people may not know this but the PS2 was known to be hard to develop for (the “How To” manual is supposed to be pretty damn thick lol) but the PS3’s cell more or less double that development time and made it a complete headache for devs to deal, hence why PS3 multi-plats tend to look like shite. But I digress
Sony was also venturing into Uncharted (lol) waters by going with the Blu-Ray format and making the PS3 double as an inexpensive Blu-Ray player, kinda in the same way the PS2 doubled as a DVD player.
Continuing from what was previously said, the media/game station schtick didn’t work because of two contributing factors, the price and lack of software. The PS3 launch years are a huge contributing factor as to why Sony is near broke right now, half of last gen was spent trying to salvage the playstation division because they were bleeding years on end.
Lack of software or “ps3 has no gaems” because of rising development costs and complex architecture was very real, most of the heavy hitters like Final Fantasy XIII got stuck in development hell for awhile and inevitably forced it and many other games to go multi-plat causing Sony to lose massive market share to Nintendo who was selling gangbusters with the Wii/DS at the time and Microsoft’s 360 which while not as powerful it was cheaper, nowhere near as hard to develop for, and had a safe install base because of it’s launch years before.
“ps3 has no gaems” part 2, since third party devs didn’t want to deal with Sony’s bullshit at the time they (Sony) started to re-invest more money into making profitable game series because at the time the only AAA sellers they had were Gran Turismo and God of War, they have Uncharted now but as of late they’re still throwing shit at a wall to see if it sticks, why they haven’t funded a new Legend of Dragoon is beyond me. Oh yeah and Last Guardian still hasn’t come out yet lol.
You could probably blame them for the rise of safe games, and sequelitis because that mostly companies are too chicken shit to try anything new “cause everything costs too much money boo hoo”

I could talk about their floundering TV and laptop division but that’d be boring, as for being to big to fail that I’m not entirely sure, they employ a boat load of people over in Japan but whether or not someone will pull them out of the fire has yet to be seen.
Well yes and no.
The Vita is selling like absolute shit in the US, but it’s doing mildly better in Europe, and since it’s new revision it sells about 30K units a week in Japan on average, while that still blows it’s doing much much better than it’s late 2012~Q1/2 2013 days where it teetered between 4K~10K a week. The only perk of the Vita right now (in Japan at least) is the fact that it kinda brings the eco-system full circle, that and the fact that software sales don’t suck over there despite the paltry 2mil install base.
Wii U on the other hand has been tracking sub Gamecube and even Dreamcast level sales for the majority of last year sadly, it’s US sales are bad but not as bad as the Vita, it’s literally dead in Europe, and it was pulling 3K~5K units in Japan for the first 3 quarters in Japan and only recently got a huge boost from Mario 3D World, Wii U Party Bundle, and the Dragon Quest X revision. It’ll probably pass the Vita in sales next year but that’s if Kart and Smash move as many units as people how it will.
pc is the only system where every game can be yours for free!!! (or for cheap through steam). its also THE system that can emulate almost all other consoles and arcade boards, again everything for FREE. its also the only system that has no online subscription to play games online. i use laptops and haven’t had a pc in YEARS. but after being forced to play daytona 1 for so long (2 is already emulated on pc) and being forced to plug in my ps2 or neo geo cdz to experience some games, i should actually invest in na decent pc and emulate everything again and get the pc shit for free.
