watches part of that speed run and then stares at Sonic 4…and just shakes his head in shame
I beat colors a couple of days ago. The whole section leading up to the final boss I thought was pretty awesome. Last boss was easy but still fun. That’s probably my only other major gripe is that some of the bosses were a bit too easy. I’m off today so I’m probably going to be spending most of the day trying to collect the red rings.
Something also occured to me…I remember when I half jokingly said I blame Jason Griffith for Sonic failing as bad as he had been. So him and most of the 4kids cast leave and suddenly there’s a solid Sonic game out lol.
Been playing Sonic Heroes again. What gets me about this game is the jerky control at high speeds and the lack of full camera control. The game could be awesome but it’s just ok. My favorite parts are when I destroy things. I’m terrified to run at high speed.
I beat Sonic Colors, the game definitely has replay value.
I still feel I should have waited until it hit 19.99 like every other sonic game. The final boss was disappointing, and the theme song sucks. The game is 8/10 though definitely.
some of these red rings are pretty well hidden and some of them you only get one chance per entry into the level to get them. I think I’m at 110 so far.
of course I do…managed to get 2 emeralds tonight. It’s only going to get more painful looking for them…but oh so good.
Something else that needs changing in the game is changing the sidestep back to the triggers…Not necessarily saying that using the analog is bad because it’s not its actually more playable than I thought but to keep the minimum amount of twitch accidents from occuring it needs to be back on shoulder buttons. I understand they probably needed to have it the way it’s set up for wii-mote and nunchuk set up but if this game does end up getting a port to HD then they should definitely change that.
I’m not sure how I feel about the range on Sonic’s homing attack in this game since it’s not really in the way but I’ve noticed it is quite ridiculously long in range. It’s not a horrible problem and I wouldn’t mind it staying the way it is since it’s not killing me but it is a bit surprising when you’re doing platforming sections and there’s an enemy WWAAAAAYYYY OVER YONDER at a horizontal line from you and Sonic suddenly is zipping all the way over to attack him. The only solution I can think of would be again putting the homing attack on a different button…one that ISN’T THE SAME AS THE BOOST BUTTON.
Moose had me come over to his house to grab the 7th emerald for him and his wife in Sonic 4 on XBLA. I can’t stress this enough…fuck that bumper room.
I didn’t have that much interest in Sonic Free Riders theme songImZgGAzgWVU&hd=1"]‘Free’ (…someone actually misspelled adrenalin with an i in the comments? O.o?) but I’m definitely more interested since on the actual OST. I’m hoping they’ll do a version of ‘Reach for the Stars’
The next game will suck. Watch them keep the Sonic Colors platforming. But you turn into a werehog with a sword and a genie helps you find red rings instead of Super Sonic.
GO TEAM SEGA!
On the real though, very happy to hear this game doesn’t blow ass. It’s on the top of my “to buy list” right now along with Epic Mickey. But I’m going to wait till I get my secret santa gift before I commit to buying it in case they got me Sonic Colors.
I don’t have high hopes for Sega not fuckin up the next game and there wouldn’t be enough facepalms I could do for them failing it.
So far the only things I heard related to Sonic that are being worked on are is a Sonic game for the 3DS and this ‘anniversary’ thing I keep hearing about. I keep hearing stuff about ‘anniversary’ this and ‘anniversary’ that but there isn’t any concrete info on it at all besides the same stuff that I’ve heard being in this Wiki article. The last time ‘Sonic’ and ‘Anniversary’ were were talked about we ended up getting 2006…
Just rented and played through almost all of Sonic Colors. I beat all the worlds, but there was one area left locked.
Overall, the music was alright. Worlds for the most part looked great. Pretty solid controls. Won’t buy it though, not for over $20 or 25. I could see collecting the red rings as maybe being fun.
So is it only the one Zone? Well grabbin anyway just to see how it is.
Edit: Oh hah it says Demo right there. So are they planning on doing the whole thing then? Is that the goal? Man…It’s Sonic 2 that could be pretty dope.
In the magazine they say they will release each zone as it is done along with updates to previous zones.
Also they say Sega has yet to contact them in any way, shape, or form(Praise, legal threats, etc…) so it should all be fine so long as it is freeware. Sega could drop that hammer if they felt like it, but I doubt they really care. No one’s seeing profit off of it and Sega says they thought Sonic 4 turned out well.
I had the same problems. I tried mapping the keys to my keyboard, without much success. I tried mapping the buttons to my game pad, and that flat out didn’t work at all.
I suggest you hit up the forum, as other people are bound to be having similar issues.
