Just got my GI and I’m currently reading an interview with a new guy who’s working at Sega. He said there’s going to be at least 2 to 3 big sonic related announcments early next year. Let’s assume that at least one of those announcements has to do with Sonic 4 Episode 2 and if we also assume that one of the announcements have to do with ‘Sonic Anniversary’ then I guess the 3rd one might have to do with the 3DS title.

It seems a lot of financial stuff was stressed in that interview. I hope Sega doesn’t shy away from taking risks.
Man I do. Every time Sega takes a risk with Sonic it sucks balls. Sonic 4 is pretty risk free, its fun and if they build on what they have and fix the shit thats wrong then it could be really good. Sonic Colors isn’t a risk either. They took the only part of Unleahsed that was good and made a whole game out of it and its fucking fun. Keep doing that shit Sega.
Sega needs to actually have room to make risks…which they’ve been losing everytime they make a poor design choice in the sonic games. Eventually they’ll have enough room again to start taking risks but for now they need to get the franchise out of the rut. Once that’s done then they can start talking about more of the other characters getting involved (WITHOUT GOING OVERBOARD) or things they can add that don’t hinder the game being a sonic game.

Yeah, old school Sonic design is the best. The SA design is too animu/edgy, imo
I like both honestly. I always just looked at the spines getting longer as him getting older. He got taller and less stout to. I dunno i just looked at as him aging and getting older. I did kind of find it funny that for a guy who runs at the speed of sound everywhere that he would be so…round…heh. I like the short spines to tho. I don’t think Sege should abandon short spines Sonic. They should do both honestly. It’s like Batman…Long ears or short ears? Eh leave to the artist interpreting him at the time cuz both work.
(For me Long Ears Batman for the most part especially Batman Beyond lol. Them things is huge. Looks awesome lol.)
I like the way he looks currently since it’s supposed to make him look more like a runner and older. Chubbier shorter old school Sonic has it’s charm but the small changes that they’ve made to him over the years hasn’t done anything to detrimental to his character. It’s not like the Dante reboot…When I look at all the different sprites and models of Sonic over the years I can immediately identify him. The biggest changes that they’ve done to him involve the green eyes, the gold buckle and taller legs. The length of the quills seem to change nearly with every series with the 2006 model being wayyy exaggerated.
Thinking about it…If I had to chose my personal favorite out of the 3D models of the character…it’d have to be the recent one that’s used for Unleashed and Colors. Close second being the model for Brawl.

I agree with Sonichuman in that Sonic’s Brawl design is probably his best 3D render yet. Sakurai and his team really nailed everything that makes Sonic, well, Sonic with his Brawl apperance. His moveset, taunts, even his idle animation are straight up, true blue Sonic(pun intended, lol).
Almost makes me want to play as him in Brawl again… ALMOST.

I’m not sure how I feel about this supposed unreleased game. Sonic tossing rings as projectiles sort of like Tails but secretly back in the day I think I actually wanted a game that was based off of SatAM. This wasn’t exactly how I imagined it would be played though. As long as the robots screamed out ‘GET THE HEDGEHOG…PRIORITY 1!’ whenever they spotted you it’d be good for a laugh for a few minutes.
Also letting you guys know Sonic Colors is part of the power saver sale that GS has going on this week. I believe 10 dollars off on both versions of colors so if you were interested in either and hadn’t picked it up then this might be something to consider.
I’m wondering how the sales of the games are holding up…we’ve been selling them fairly well at my store…the Wii one more so.

Apparently Sonic Games have been discountedon XBL today…this includes Sonic 4 now being put at the price point that it SHOULD have been at (800 points). If you own a 360 and have been on the verge of buying the game but have been keeping it at bay because of impressions then buy the game NOW.
I don’t know how many Kamen Rider fans there are but I found [media=youtube]v9BFkv5DYLU"[/media]about the ending to Sonic Colors interesting. It looks like the japanese version could actually be referencing Kamen Rider. Don’t watch it unless you want to be spoiled on the ending.
Any word on when Episode 2 of Sonic 4 will drop?
nope not at all.
My guess is late summer/fall of next year.
And Sonic 4 isn’t that bad. It’s too damned short but it’s not that bad. I see what they were trying to do. I hope they open up the levels more like Sonic 3 and Knuckles and on that note bring back Tails and Knuckles.

My god man…in all seriousness Sega just hire these guys and have them work on a real HD collection remake of the Genesis series…matter of fact release it for the 3DS. The animation looks so damn smooth…I have no nit picks with this at all right now. What do you guys think?
