Oh yeah for those that want to do a Turbo boost at the start of a race-
Hold down Accelerate once the commentor says Two.
Here’s how I do it anyways-
“Three”, “Two-Hold down Accel”, by the time he says Go! you should get a turbo boost
The race starting Turbo Boost is character dependent. It is based on how long it takes for the character to charge a boost. Some characters do it during 2, some while 3 is disappearing, and Chuchu has to do it halfway through 3.

So what’re your current tiers for All-Star Racing?
From what I’ve played I’d place Opa Opa near the top, he’s fast, good handling when drifting and turbo boost is decent.
I’d put Zobio at the bottom though, mainly because when I used them to win the 6th prix I kept getting off track in the 3rd race (fuck you squarey cornered Monkey ball stages!) plus they are slow as heck as far as acceleration goes =_=
I can’t make a whole tier list, but I believe you have some major mistakes. Billy Hatcher (you forgot him comlpletely), Amy, and AiAi need to go to mid (above Beat). Chu Chu drops to right above Zobio. Knuckles goes to the top of Mid. Big drops to top of Low. Shadow is the top of top tier. Not sure about the exact placement of the rest.
@Ace 50- How do I do get that Beat trophy exactly? …and I knew Sonic was giving tips about the trophies XD
Race in the Shibuya Downtown track. At the section where you can go up the ramps or take the tunnel, you want to go up the ramps. This leads to a giant jump through a billboard. Do 3 tricks off of this jump.

Idk. It’s hard to say for a definitive list. The reason for Shadow (as well as Alex Kidd) being high is that they both have extremely fast boost charging, can boosts on straight-aways with wheelies, and (most importantly) have high acceleration. High acceleration allows you to go ahead of the pack in the beginning of the race, and this is good. In this game, when you are in first you only have to worry about second place, while everyone else has to worry about multiple people. Getting an early lead is a huge advantage. It seems there are multiple weight classes, where the lightest characters have the best acceleration and the fastest boost (making them the best characters). I think Sonic is a mid-weight, but he has the highest stats…which is why he is good.
^That’s some good observation, but I agree with Shadow Ace’s list ATM, the ones at the top are indeed the better characters from what I’ve played.
Sucks to see Jacky so low, but that still won’t stop me from using him.
If they release an update patch, do you think they could have it increase the acceleration of some characters?

I disagree with his placement of Knuckles and Tails. Tails should be mid because he has the high acceleration advantage. Knuckles is the top of mid. He has a quick-charging boost like Shadow and Alex as well as good acceleration, but he is lacking the ability to wheelie (which is why he is not in top).
Also, the Monkey Ball stages are some of the most fun, but you have to learn how to take the curves first.

DLC appears to be Characters, levels, and tracks and maybe a patch for online (need to add lag indicator bars to player names)

Also if we ban Opa, shouldn’t we ban Alex Kidd as well? I mean his stats are much like Opa and driving him seems the same as Opa as well.
I’ll agree with that, although I have to wonder why Ai Ai got reduced to low tier. Honestly, if we ban any of the top tier, then we would need to ban them all as they are all better than the bulk of the cast in their own ways. Doesn’t really make sense to worry about that.
