Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - A Sega Fanboy's Wet Dream :)

…I’m sorry, what was that? You’re gay? Nothing wrong with that I guess.

ftfy

So far I’m not crazy about 3 things:

No announcer, that guy was the shit

They replaced all the tricks with generic flips and barrel rolls.

Danica Patrick? I get that she’s talented or whatever but it’s just so odd… At least she’s just a model for create-a-car or whatever.

Id like to see Mag Launcher from Evolution in this…

Evolution published by Ubisoft.

Unoriginality and saltiness looks bad on you. You’re only embarrassing yourself kiddo

No, tricks are now legitimate physical tricks, you have to perform them a thumbstick instead of just “press butan to get boost lol”. Doing a double roll or a double flip in a single jump is actually an accomplishment now instead of just being canned animations mapped to button presses.

But the canned animations were so much more visually appealing. I could imagine Sonic getting up mid jump to strike a pose but just flipping the car? Meh.

Also, I really want Ulala and Op-Opa back!

Yeah, the original animations were funny to say the least. Beat getting on the hood of his car, while in air, and laying down on it then getting back in was funny.

This game is looking pretty decent, gotta admit.

Why does Knuckles always get the pimpest shit?

He’s tougher than the rest of them, the best of them tougher than leather. Unlike Sonic, he won’t chuckle he’d rather flex his muscles.

A SEGA fanboy’s wet dream is a kart racing game?
If that’s the case, Mario Kart would be every Mario fan’s wet dream.
…and** the first game** was released more than a decade ago. There’ve been many Mario Kart games over the years…that must’ve been a lot of orgasms for Mario fans =V

No offense but you must have low standards if a racing game is what you would consider the greatest gift to the fanbase >_>;

You are a massive idiot

Mario Kart does not contain even a fraction of the fanservice contained in this game. It does not offer anything new or interesting per game, nor does it have an arcade racing background to draw upon. This is much more than just a generic kart racer, this is a labor of love by Sega nerds for Sega nerds, a game made by people passionate about racing games (namely the Blur/Project Gotham guys). If you can’t comprehend why this is a complete and total Sega fangasm you are no Sega fan and in fact I recommend getting those brain tumors checked out before they kill you.

Mario Kart did get an arcade game.

Each Mario Kart game has added new power-ups. With Mario 64 adding the infamous blue shell. Double Dash has a team dynamic going for it and Kart selection dependent on character weight class. Mario Kart DS had mission mode and introduced the rather crappy system of regenerating items based on position placement. The gliding in Mario Kart 7 does change things up significantly change how you race and some the older tracks being redone for this feature. To say Mario Kart offers nothing new per game is wrong.

I’m gonna miss this, I found him really annoying and corny at first but without him it’s not gonna be the same

In terms of fanservice, I’d say the equivalent for Mario fans would be those New Super Mario Bros games and, to a lesser extent, Smash Bros.

Everybody knows how much cum has been poured over Smash Bros by the fans.

You completely misunderstood. Having an arcade game in the series is not the same as having arcade racer as its ORIGINS. This game is being made by people passionate about arcade racers who loved playing Sega’s massive back catalog of arcade racers. I’m talking about Daytona, Outrun, SCUD Race and Virtua Racing. This game in particular pays tribute to all of them with its high speed, great controls and competitive spirit. Furthermore I stand by my point that Mario Kart barely changes per game. This garbage like “Mission Mode” and “a new item”, no, that’s not NEW GAMEPLAY. It’s the same old crap rearranged in a different manner. Over time it just “evolved” into a parody of itself where items and AI are ludicrously imbalanced and the gameplay moves at the speed of molasses. Double Dash was the only one that did anything unique and then the series went back to being a sluggish bore, the outcome of which was determined by luck instead of skill.

Gliding barely adds anything different to the game, it’s not even a true flying mechanic but merely graceful falling. Movement is still mostly lateral in this mode. Underwater driving is also nothing different, it’s literally exactly the same as normal driving, only slower.

The only thing this really has in common with Mario Kart is the random item boxes.

Thanks for making me think of this!

I need a Virtua Cop and/or LA Gunner and/or Dynamite Dekka tracks.

Infact, why not put Axel and Blaze in the cop car from Virtua Cop. Winning.

Because I don’t see things your way, little boy?

This game is offering soemthing new? Hasn’t it already been established that it borrows elements from Nintendo’s Kart games?

If this is a labor of love, what does that make the first Sonic & SEGA All-Stars racing game? You know the one that had Ryu from Shenmue.

Because unlike Sonic, he don’t chuckle.

He’s hard as nails, it ain’t hard to tell. He breaks 'em down whether they’re solid or frail. Unlike the rest he’s independent.
